The Apology to the Stolen Generations (this isn't it by the way) was very moving.Huge screens were set up all over the country so people could watch the speech & afterwards many cried and cheered.It was a very important moment in our history, although one that should have happened much sooner.

The apology was long overdue. So the government has said Sorry - now it's time to forgive, unite, and formulate a plan.
I say step one is to sort out these racists radio shock-jocks and crooked Aboriginal leaders who continue play the blame game to hold onto their positions of power.
So many people misunderstand what the apology was about. It had nothing to do with any non-indigenous people personally.

Please research before you post such a comment. Aboriginal men today are still raping young aboriginal girls. My nephew is a police sargent in Alice Springs. From the things I have heard, some intervention needs to be taken so as to stop what is going on. I will not name the things I know they are too crude to mention on this site. The fact that now they to can live a westernised cultured life (they enjoy) while still attaining and practising their own culture. Do not have such blunt thoughts "Well Im not grateful for he fact that european settlers who settled here in australia!". That may be the viewpoint you have, although just picture yourself without a westernised culture. And I think Aboriginal people will enjoy life more as they can still practice their own culture and live their own lifestyle.
