Humm..I propose the creation of a game called US Colony that will have Religious Extremists from England getting into US and genocide indian americans. The most indian americans you take, the more terrain you get. Then you need to purchase thousands of slaves from Africa and push them to work so that you get to be Governor. That sound's fun...and wait till I create the Germany version, where I will re-create the Final Solution by the german elected Chancellor in 1933 so that you have FUn. Luis
@candelazul If you allow the historic basis for a boardgame mechanic to rile you up that much, I'm afraid there are very few strategy games you'd enjoy. Do you really think that I sit around the board with my white friends, wringing my hands and cackling about the slaves we get to trade? How about games where I'm sending soldiers off to war? Games where I send a robber to my neighbors land? Games where I backstab, lie, murder, steal? Trust the "Life" of my family to the spin of a wheel...
@legacyoffun I agree...War games and others that promote violence are also an outrage.
And Yes I'm entitled to be rifled up as a proud Puertorican whose been humiliated by such a cynic view of my island's history in a game. Respect my patriotism, I'm pretty sure you might get offended if I question yours.

I hope you've also voiced your concerns with the German manufacturer and the various publishers in Germany, USA, etc. Not to mention leaders and those with power in Puerto Rico who could rally to get this game off the shelves. That would seem more productive than passing judgement on me and the visitors of this youtube channel. Thank you for your honesty and fervor.

Nevertheless, everybody should think about what they play with. Either if it's about war, killings or the distorted history of someone's country. Peace.
@LordGek Sure... available resources is different every time, available roles to choose re based on what other players took before you... number of settlers available depends on layout of everyone's buildings, etc.
@koosjebig I think it really depends on your group. I think it makes sense to play through a couple rounds, making sure every role gets played, so they get a feel for it. Then restart and play a full game. I think inventing new rules would make it more confusing rather than less... just my opinion. Thanks for checking out my guide!
@4CillaV I'm glad you liked the guide. Don't give up on the game! It takes a few plays to get all the rules down, but once you've got them, there's much fun to be had! And hey, even if you're still struggling through the rules, you still get to hang out with friends or your family... I'd consider that a great use of time. :)

What would be a good way to make this game a bit easier (less overwhelming) in the first play for beginners?
I was thinking of not considering the special functions of buildings.
Another option would be to take out the captain, and only get points by building.
Any thoughts?
