  • The Faculty

  • This song is really amazing!!!!

  • My favorite Garbage song. Love it.

  • i first heard this on the faculty soundtrack love the movie but this song is my personal favorite

  • Awesome song.

  • Me too

  • I so relate to this song....

  • haha at the last comment. hahha

  • I was looking at the stats, and popular in younger females, and older males. Just something I found interesting. XD

    AND I LOVE THIS SONG.

    I haven't heard a Garabge song I dislike.

  • when i grow up i'm gonna marry shirley manson

  • they need to do accoustic versions of all of their songs this was amazing.

  • Years ago this pertained to me. Suicidal and heartbroken. This is a song for those who are mature enough for the lyrics to set in and speak to them.; if you have never been used you wont get this song.

  • After an almost desert of cookie cutter albums for nearly a decade, Garbage 2.5 was beautiful. Thanks, they are all my favorites.

  • <3 this song.....the fact that people don't care about other people is reason enough to take medication (so depressing)

  • The Faculty brought me here!!!

  • blood pumps through your arteries, not your veins.

  • @elibetvalencia1 thx for the science lesson: Anatomy 101!

  • @Crazayblasiangirl (wink and the gun)

  • @elibetvalencia1 actually veins pump blood because they don't have the aid of the heart pushing the blood through them. They contract in a way similar to muscles, or the esophagus.

  • garbage rocks i love it thank god for garbage i was getting bore with all the other grps shit.

  • This has become my new favorite song by them.

  • Thanks for the all memories.

  • This song is so beautiful.

  • I love this song.

I played this song at my bf funeral

    I miss him so much

    Always n Forever

  • @iloveuronald

Aw... :( You seem like a really nice person for caring so much about your boyfriend. :)

  • This is my ringtone for my dad ._.

  • Negative opinions are as valid, with equal right to be expressed, as their positive counterparts. Depending on the object under review, one can scarcely tell which opinions are more right. In fact there is never one side that is wholly right, as an inevitable result of complexity and subjectivity in the world. Whatever the case, let all speak; to be respected as they will, or be exposed in their folly in due course. You may criticize criticism and tell it to shush, but be aware of the hypocrisy.

  • Great version!

  • A very intimate version of a very intimate song to Shirl, the dislikes are cold hearted bastards. Go listen to lady gaga or something shallow.

  • six people don't give a damn about anybody....

six people have never felt trapped...

  • i played this for my cousin on my guitar. its strange usualy he won't so much as look at you but if i play a song on my guitar he will sit in front of me and listen. and if i sudenly stop he will say tap on my guitar and say "again?" i usualy will play a few songs just to see him smile. music is a language the worl understands

  • Love this song so much. It's like my life in song form.

  • This definitely is one of my favorite Garbage songs.

  • Never heard this version before. LOVE IT!

  • This song is depressing and way 2 slow of a beat, hey I have heard other music by garbage I liked, but u will not see this on my facebook page.

  • like shirley herself once said "garbage is happy music for unhappy people"

    <3<3<3<3<3

  • Beautiful version...<3

  • this song is so emotional, to me its like a sad lullaby :]

  • "Somebody get me out of here. I'm tearing at myself." <3

  • their songs are so fucking depressed, but you just can't stop listening, 'cos they precisely reflect your life ...

  • Somehow, the blame was laid on [number of dislikes] people.

  • I wish I could download this version :(

  • medication = weed

  • @verynice420 pfffffff wat a noob

  • @mrwhite21 im not talking about this song .... ur the noob!

  • @verynice420 i liek turtles

  • Great version of a great song. Shirley want to play hide the sausage with me?

  • Where can you get this version!? I can't find it!

  • 3 people really don't understand how personal and vulnerable this song is. it's not worth getting offended by those people, it's just sad they don't understand artistic sacrifice when they hear it...

i don't even get why there's a 'dislike' button. you either like it or you don't, but if you don't there's kind of no point in hating. if something's really worth 'disliking', it's in really bad taste or deliberately offensive. so 'flag' it. so yeah i'm LIKING this video.

    thanks for uploading.

  • @badbloodopera cool neverending story, bro!

  • @mrwhite21 thanks! it's just i'm terribly attached to this song for some reason. it just gets to me. medication = self-injury, a silent cry for help and such a profound blackened hope that it can only be expressed so purely in music- and a voice- like this...

  • @badbloodopera Since when does dislike = hating? Outright trolling is one thing, but there's nothing wrong with someone having a negative opinion and expressing it. Having a dislike button should make it even less offensive, for people who don't care to comment.

At home/in my car, if I play a song and my friend doesn't like it, they should say so. It's called honesty.

If one can't stand to know there are 7 dislikes out of 200k views, they have issues. And just for the recorde, I like this song

  • Comment removed

  • @DarthMohammed I have to agree here; it really doesn't make a shred of difference, especially if only 7 out of 241 people choose to express a dislike for the song- that's literally 3% that dislike it, while the other 97% have 'liked' it! Really not worth worrying about. That 3% of people dislike this song doesn't have to mean anything to you- everyone has different tastes and opinions. And it doesn't change the fact that I like it, either! Their loss in my opinion, and that's all there is to it.

  • <3....anything can happen x

  • Its common my friend, Ive had it since I was a child. Bad things happen in this life but we must pull through. Still to this day therapy nor medication has helped me more then I have helped myself. I learned that it is people/themselves that truly make themselves unhappy. If you follow your heart/mind you can get through any obstacle. Believe/know that you are not alone and you will overcome anything.

  • C'est vraiment trop beau j'aime

  • Thank you so much for this song.

  • "Somebody get me out of here,

    I'm tearing at myself.

Nobody gives a damn about me or anybody else"

"And still you call me co-dependent,

Somehow you lay the blame on me.

And still you call me co-dependent,

Somehow you lay the blame on me. "

  • Thanks For This Post

  • I don't need an education... : )))))

  • My favorite Garbage song.

  • I read that people are saying that this version is better than the album version. I think their both great in their own regards! I honestly can't decide which I believe to be the better one! This version is filled emotion, and you can feel the full effect that Shirley Manson was surely feeling, and that emotion isn't filtered by the loud sounds of the drums, and electric guitar make. The other version has an intensity that this version lacks, and yet it still captures a great amount of emotion.

  • I love this song better than the album version. Somehow it remains me of my strugle with depression for the last 12 years, that till this day I haven't tell anyone yet.

  • @nayah1979 I agree. This is better than the album version.

  • @nayah1979

Wow, love this comment. I understand. Every lyric in this song resonates with me and I can't believe I haven't found it till now. It's hard for me to talk about my depression because I just feel like my family would think I'm making up excuses...which I am...and that just makes me more sad. But then I come to YouTube.

  • @kmacmuzikmafia2 You took the words right out of my mouth. This is probably one of the saddest songs, next to Sinead O'Connor that I have ever heard. I love it!

  • @misskawaiikiki

I know, lol. It's kind of funny how us sad people gravitate to sad songs. It's not like we like being sad, but it feels like therapy or something, haha. It justifies our emotions because it means someone, the person who wrote the song, the people who sing it, have felt the same way as us at one time.

So, in a way, sad songs make us happy :)

  • @kmacmuzikmafia27 That is so true....it's not healthy to suppress feelings, especially sad ones. It's best to get it out, so it doesn't make you sick. There's something about the low tones and sad words that I feel helps to heal...and as a side note, with all the hunger and brutality in the world, as they say, if you're not at least somewhat sad or angry, then you're not awake.

  • @misskawaiikiki

Definitely. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve to be sad, with everything everyone else has to deal with. But we all have our problems.

  • @kmacmuzikmafia27 So that means we're only happy when it rains.

  • @treatsnsweets

    Exactly, ;)

  • @nayah1979 You're lucky you can hide it...mine's written all over my face. But thank you for being brave enough to post this...it got a lot of people thinking and talking

  • @nayah1979 I have suffered from depression for a long time, so long I can't remember when I was truly happy. I get by, hid it for yrs. because of the stigma that goes along with it. One day I just started letting people know and the weight of hiding it just made it easier and when you do open up, you find out you're not alone. And that is somewhat freeing. I still suffer and my life is a mess but I always have hope that things will change when my life changes and I'm ready to take that step.

  • Comment removed

  • @nayah1979 :[ I'm sorry.

  • @nayah1979 Yes. My thoughts exactly. Depression is a terrible and frightening thing to live with. I feel for you. (:

  • @nayah1979 Same here.

  • @nayah1979 talk to a shrink, not youtubers.

  • @nayah1979 That's bad... You're gonna explode one day. Please, for the sake of yourself, talk to a friend. A family member. Doesn't even have to be a therapist. It'll feel so good letting everything out.

  • Love this song and record...have it on my ipod right now....its one of those records I think will always be timeless as I've had it since it came out and I still love listening to each song after all these years

  • Where did you get the acoustic version of this, I'm wondering? Because it puts me to sleep. x3

  • definitely one of the all-time great bands!

hardly anyone in uk seems to know them (in my life anyway!)

  • how is that possible!!!

  • sexyjefflynne72, wow true, the verses are strikingly similar. It definitely sounds like "My Immortal" (immeasurably inferior of course) is a rip-off of this unspeakably wonderful and heart-wrenching song...

I just had the weepy pleasure of hearing this acoustic version, anyone who wants it in the flesh can ask andrea111292 for the link, andrea can put you onto a lot of other free B-side mp3s too. Many thanks to said person. Still weepy...

  • Hehe thanks for mentioning me =) It's true anyway what you said

  • I'd like more of their b-sides since they are not for sale:-(

  • i know where you can download them for free, yeah i'm cool

  • Advise me, thanks

  • @ParanoidandFine

I don't know if it is just me but some bands just seem contrived and overly-done. But Shirl and the boys? Perfect. Amazing. Poignant.

  • The lyrics, the chord structure, the vocals......perfection.

  • Anyone else think the main tune of this song was nicked by Evanescence for their song "My Immortal?" Listen to it and perhaps you'll see it. Not making any angry accusations but I found it interesting.

  • Yea I totally hear it.

  • damn it i read this and now i can´t stop listening to that song from evanescence while i hear this acoustic garbage song.

  • ya, it definitely sounds like this got ripped :S

  • haha I made the same comment almost word for word first time I listened to it! we then agree xp

  • @sexyjefflynne72 good ear! i hate to compare the two songs in any remote way, but it seems you are 100% right. look up both songs on ultimate guitar tab website and you'll find that they have both been tabbed as 'G' followed by 'Bm' for both intro verses. from there the pre-choruses and choruses are different, but the verses themselves can be done using the exact same basic chords.

garbage must be musical geniuses then, because my immortal is really a huge insult to medication...

  • @badbloodopera Thanks! I think "Medication" is a good example of how deep Garbage can really be. Shirl's voice is simply divine in this acoustic version. :)

  • @sexyjefflynne72 your welcome :) here's another interesting comparison by the way (wikipedia). evanescence's "evanescence ep" apparently contained the first demo of my immortal that, quote in the words of lee, "was ben [moody]'s song". no prizes for guessing the year that ep came out: 1998 (December!) the very same year version 2.0 came out (much earlier in May!). obviously quite enough time to hear version 2.0 and take some liberal inspiration. so your theory? easily possible.

  • @badbloodopera

You do realize that the drummer was the recording tech for Nirvanas first album right?? Butch Vig is the shiznit. He does all the garbage recording and remastering and does recording and tracking as his main breadwinner.

  • @Teener205 sure, not just Nirvana but Smashing Pumpkins, L7, Soul Asylum... the list goes on! all the Boys are accomplished musicians and producers. they've been long-time friends and worked on many projects together, they're a tight unit... but they're so much tighter when they're playing in Garbage with Shirley, a woman they've known for 16, 17 long years now. Garbage changed their life so much, and it shows in the quality of the music. i can't wait for the new album.

  • wow.

  • I love this version.

  • i love garbage shirley is the best.......and this version it's amazing..
