This game is kinda cool, but it looks severely unfinished. Come on... NO POSSIBILITY TO BUY NEW SHIPS?!!! That's bullshit. I so wished to buy myself a capship and shoot multiple weapons at once... I'll tell you - if then the game got a multiplayer, it would be a very short way from there for it to become one of the most popular space sims.
@ThinBear4 I agree that being able to change your ships is something the game lacks. I think you should take into consideration two things though. This game was made by one person - the sounds, the graphics and the programming. That's quite an accomplishment by itself. The other thing is that it's modeled roughly off Nethack and is also similar to Diablo. Can't change your character in Diablo from a Rogue to a Mage partway through the game without starting over right?
@SparcMan I don't think Diablo has any unique classes which are inaccesible for player (kinda like Capital ships being inaccesible to player in Transcendence).
charon is nothing if you bring 20+ autons... but at first, everytime i pass that system is a pain in the ass.. now i always bring my autons to do the job for me
@hydremajor The game is made to be easy to mod and in fact, there are already several user made mods for it. There is an active mod community on the homepage forums. I believe some of the content in the base version of the game originally came from mods. I haven't used any mods though.
I tried my hand at modding a few months back, but went on indefinite hiatus because of real-life. Schoolwork and all that. I have a fightercraft which I "borrowed" from somewhere almost near completion, as well as two as-of-yet unbalanced Pyro-GXes in the works. I'm not sure when I'll have the free time to work on them again, though. And I was hoping I could try and make a warship after that too...
I ran out of characters, so another set of message.
That was Charon Frigate Kronosaurus, the most dreaful of all the Charon ships.
I'ts no ordinary Charon frigate than you expect, it has like 4 times the armor of a charon frigate and more deadly weapons. You can encounter it early if you killed a bunch of Charon frigates and those big white ships of theirs. But I managed to destroy it early with some help.
What I wanna know is, how do I unlock the other powers of Domina, I only have sustain until I got to the place of those scientists and those crazy Iocrym Sentinels, I tried to tithe alot, offer 1 prayer stone and a 1800 credit gem with domina's face carved, some things, contemplate and what? I get nothing...
I wish someone make a video here, to tell all the ways of earning money, all I the things I know to earn money is to just kill stuff, get loot, and escort Korolov Freighters.
@kevinhermosa Giving money to Domina has no effect on getting powers I believe. Other stuff like those Soul matrix things or whatever they are along with those prayer stones and stuff does help. Also giving slaves helps a lot as Domina wants to "Enlighten" them.
Regarding making money, you can also make money by mining and discovering where to buy and sell goods for profit.
@SparcMan Thanks for the info, however getting slaves is pretty hard, cause trying to destroy their turrets could hit their housing and you get nothing, btw can you get slaves just by killing the ships surrounding it?
@kevinhermosa You can only get slaves by defeating the slave camp base. Unless you're pretty strong, the best way to beat a slave camp is to take out each defense satellite from a distance then get right up next to the base camp to destroy it once the satellites are gone. A targeting ROM is pretty essential for that and an Omni weapon is recommended. You'll almost always have a few slave carriers destroyed, but the more you can save, the more slaves you'll get.
@SparcMan Hmmph I think that should do the trick, IDK where to buy omni weapons though, I normally see manually aimed ones and please note that I have a Wolfen.
@kevinhermosa Omni weapons are sometimes rare, but if you check all stores by the time you start seeing the slavers, you should be able to find something. I wouldn't recommend an Omni (normal)laser for anything but the first few systems though. Because of the Wolfen's superior manuverability, it is less reliant on an Omni weapon (unless you have really horrible aim).
@SparcMan Well I am not that bad on aiming but not that good too. I am in sort of a slump right now cause I reached the last system where the scientists are found and those crazy Iocrym Sentinels have started destroying all research stations and after that began chasing me. Non of my weapons are working on damaging them even some explosives isn't working. I would want to go back to the old systems but IDK where I can find a place to earn money. Also I wanna ask where to sell the mines ores?
@SparcMan i destroyed every bit of the slave carriers... is there more than 1 system that have slaves? I have no idea that i can use them and i dont want to do new game
@HeliosExeunt There is an item you are given when you get the mission to go after Arco. Use it and you'll have better luck regardless of which ship you use.
Yeah, I know about that, but I still can't beat him. It may have something to do with how I deal with him, because I tend to fly away the moment he starts firing his weapons. Should I just fly right up his face and out-circle him?
This game is so addicting. Hard though; I don't know how many times I died trying to take out an enemy base before I realized how effective using something with "station damage" and firing from out of their range was. I'm surprised no one has done a playthrough of this yet, it must be pretty far under the radar.

Arco Vaughn keeps splashing me unless if I fly a Wolfen. XD
How far into the game is Charon, anyway? I've never gone beyond the system with the Battle Arena Maximus.

What an AWESOME little piece of freeware game! It's like a combination of Elite and Diablo. Just wish it was more open ended. 10/10!

It may be a little late for you now, but in my experience the respawning rate goes down every time you bring down a stronghold or outpost.
So, yes, you have to risk it and take down a couple of them to tone down the respawn.
