  • non ci siamo. lentissima, manca il brio potente, non si puo' sostituire il violino solo con il violoncello...tanta strada ancora da fare

  • I find this interpretation interesting. It's not as fast and as forceful as how it's played compared with the other interpretations, but I think the melodies came out more clearly because of that.

  • haha die dirigentin

  • Outstanding! Couldn't be played any better.

I watch this video on a daily basis.

  • beautiful interpretation....the music has its own force and rhythm, so rather than exaggerating them, she blends them all together in a baroque way, not into a Hollywood extravaganza. Very stylish and mesmerizing. If you spend time looking at the performers better watch fashion shows not Baroque performances!!

  • Lei sembra la Mannoia!

  • Troppo lenta...

  • @Enorme73 Troppo lenta in base a che metro?

  • The woman on harpsichord and the grey-haired cellist look batsh*t insane.

  • @gary2914458

lol Most good musicians look insane.

  • @iconshade

Old Way- cello held between calfs, hold bow "underhand"

New Way- end pin holds up cello, hold bow sort of like how they are holding them

I hope I answered your question

  • @iconshade The old way you hold the cello with your calfs and you would hold the bow underhand, the new way, you use an end pin and you hold the bow sort of like they are holding it. I hope I answered you question.

  • can I ask a question??? how do you play the cello the old way and the new way???

  • She kills Vivaldi!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @misterzizz90 Yep she does...

  • wow thats the first time ive ever seen someone play the cello like that way is old

  • wow the cello p;ayer is playing the old way

  • That's the first time I've seen someone conducting the orchestra with their head, lol

  • FANTASTIC! *-*

  • It was beautiful!! thank you

  • I would love to hear Apollo's Fire live. You probably would see me standing up and cheering crazily after a performance.

  • ah, bravo man. you do not cease to fail me, bravo man. fabulous jeannette!!!

  • nice work.

  • Generally the tempo of Baroque Music is based on walking and pulsation of humanbeing. You know these are a little bit fast. I think they are playing this music soooo slowly.

  • Great transcription. Solo part works well on the keyboard.

  • its a harpsicord

  • NorbertZF, do you know what baroque performers were like? I took a class in baroque music history - all the descriptions of performance were about emotional, wild playing. I think Jeanette Sorrel and Apollo's Fire are fabulous at bringing this music alive. I've heard them in concert and I love, love this group!

  • Actually, I do. Having read just about ALL the treatises of the time and anecdotes about performers, there is nothing about having a "crazed" expression or "swooping" down a keyboard. That is a 19th Century Romanticism approach on par with Chopin, Liszt and Paganini. All the facial expressions and over the top dramatics does not make anyone play or sound better.
