@70scarrestoguy an elderly woman (Long Island) while in the commission of burglarizing her home. Rather than sentencing him to death for committing murder during the commission of a felony, he was sentenced to life in prison but was paroled (1975) after 8 years. Waterhouse was then arrested in January 1980 for the rape & drowning murder of a 29 year old Florida woman. Blood samples, hair & other fibers were found in Waterhouse's vehicle, he was convicted & sentenced to death. He was on death -
@70scarrestoguy row for 31 years, it's absolutely ridiculous that it took 31 years to permanently eliminate that 2 time murderer from society. I don't know if New York had capital punishment in 1966 but if Waterhouse had been sentenced to death back then, he wouldn't have murdered an innocent Florida woman in 1980. A life sentence doesn't equate to an individual remaining incarcerated for the rest of their life. Life without parole should equate to zero privileges & housed in a prison wing -
@70scarrestoguy with others serving the same sentence. Maybe the U.S. needs a national prison facility for those who are sentenced to life without parole. Build it in Texas so that if they murder other inmates or prison staff, they can be sentenced to death & executed within 5 years.
Its sad that people still dont see that a person is NOT what they look like but a brother or sister mom or dad someone that people care about and the hearts that are broken a mom that feels the loose of her baby! Think about it! if you were the one that loosed your son and the pain you would feel from the loose.
If you'd like to listen to The State of Texas execution of Keith Thurmond tonight (between 6-7PM central time), google executionwatch/listen. Arizona has an execution happening tomorrow.
@mrsmelzbad I'm a 6'4" male, and a proud Republican. I voted for Bush both times and plan to vote for Romney this year, you stereotypical idiot. I don't agree with everything in the party. But I do know that killing the killer makes society sink just as low as the murderer.
@zippedlightning True, you ARE a stereotypical idiot. Voted for lies and warmongering TWICE? Are you "proud" of your sub 100 IQ as well? Of course you're going to vote for thurston. Sheeple that get all their info from fox noise will all do what their told.
I'm on the fence about the death penalty. My thought is... What about the victims? Did they get to die in their sleep? If you're going to impose and carry out the death penalty, then the offender should be executed the same way, if not worse. But at the same time, society, a jury, whoever, is doing the same thing as the offender... killing! I'm a Canadian, so no death penalty here, but at the end of the day, if it were my family killed, I would want them dead. Period.
Two more POS being executed today. Robert Moorman was executed in Arizona & George Rivas (leader of the Texas 7) is scheduled for 6PM. So far in 2012; Four "Whity's" & two Hispanics (after Rivas is executed tonight) have been executed. Zero black persons have been executed by the State in 2012. What happened to the argument that capital punishment AKA the White Devil's instrument, was biased against Black people?
@MrTaeman21 i crapped my pants with boredom. that is a nigger and niggers (shitty smelling rapists who resemble crap with their looks and aroma) deserve to be shot. niggers are a real problem for thinking they should own the world. i'm so glad niggers continue to suffer... obama isn't black either lol. look at his background. fuckin black aliens sure dont own my country. idiots. keep killing niggerz. power to the majority.
idiots the jury doesn't decide on the death penalty that is the judge who spent many years in school studying law and cases you people who support this garbage and say he is innocent disgust me i hope you have loved ones who get killed and have hundreds of people protesting their murderers death penalty you people should be ashamed he was an evil man who committed atrocities but because he's black he's innocent please just like tookie williams man i love black people but i hate niggers!
@elspiclatino "idiots the jury doesn't decide on the death penalty". You may actually be mistaken. See; Ring V Arizona. Supreme Court Declares Juries, Not Judges Must Decide Critical Sentencing Issues. In a 7-2 decision in the case of Ring v. Arizona, the U.S. Supreme Court held that a defendant has the right to have a jury, rather than a judge, decide on the existence of an aggravating factor that makes the defendant eligible for the death penalty. In its decision, the Court held that a death -
@70scarrestoguy sentence where the necessary aggravating factors are determined by a judge violates a defendant's constitutional right to a trial by jury. (Associated Press, June 24, 2002). Read the opinion.
@70scarrestoguy really I can't find this case on the internet can you tell me where to find and if so, then thank you for letting me know i hate having the wrong information
@elspiclatino Google search; Ring V Arizona. Scroll down to the Legal Information Institute/ Cornell University Law School. Read- SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES. RING v. ARIZONA
CERTIORARI TO THE SUPREME COURT OF ARIZONA. No. 01—488. Argued April 22, 2002–Decided June 24, 2002.-- On appeal, Ring argued that Arizona’s capital sentencing scheme violates the Sixth Amendment’s jury trial guarantee by entrusting to a judge the finding of a fact raising the defendant’s maximum penalty.
@DoubleR2591 I just watched a documentary on the death penalty that said the exact opposite. American Justice, I think. It's probably a little outdated but it makes sense. It's on YouTube, search it out if you're interested.
@DoubleR2591 Actually: Since Gregg V Georgia affirmed that Capital Punishment was constitutionally legal when mitigating & aggravating guidelines were followed, more Whites (nearly 2:1) than Blacks have been executed by Federal & State prisons. Before 1972 (Furmann V Georgia), an even greater disparity of Whites than Blacks were legally executed. Society is ever changing, Blacks are currently 7-8 times more violent than Whites. Therefore: Not surprising that Davis (guilty) was legally executed
@70scarrestoguy This may be so. However, the point I was trying to make was, a black man has a significant higher rate for facing the death penalty/being executed for murdering a white man in a "deep south" state such as Georgia. If this happened anywhere up North, he probably would still be alive with a life sentence
@DoubleR2591 The national death penalty statistics don't support your opinion, that a black man is more likely than a white man to receive a death sentence for a violent murder. National death penalty statistics actually indicate that a White man is more likely to receive a sentence of death. The Troy Davis circus was all about anti death penalty politics, no surprise that they dealt the race card from the bottom of the deck. No surprise that their going to benefit from Troy Davis's death
@DoubleR2591 Keith Thurmond (Caucasian male) is going to be executed, on Wednesday, by the great State of Texas. Robert Towery (Caucasian male) is going to be executed, on Thursday, by the great State of Arizona. That will make 6 Whitys & 2 Latinos executed as of 3/8/ 2012 but no Black persons have been executed as of yet in 2012. I'm waiting (probably another year) to see if Lamaricus Davidson is convicted & again sentenced to death during his retrial in Knoxville Tennessee.
@70scarrestoguy Keith Thrmond does count because they will kill a person who stole a car in Texas, figuratively speaking of course. And just because no black prisoners were executed doesn't mean their were no racial motivations in regards to Troy Davis
@DoubleR2591 I live in New Hampshire, 1 of 2 New England States (NH & Conn) that have capital punishment. Nobody has been executed in New Hampshire since like 1939, we currently don't even have a death chamber to carry out executions. Maybe your correct that if Davis had murdered a cop up north he'd still be alive. He'd actually be more likely to die of old age on New Hampshire death row than die from being executed by the State or disappear with help from the victims family. Shit happens right
@70scarrestoguy All I'm saying is take it for the face value. A black man killed a white cop in a southern state in a time where racism was still big. If Troy Davis was white, he would most likely have a life sentence. But yes shit happens
@DoubleR2591 I did take it for it's face value after I read the transcripts regarding the Davis case. Why can't you accept that Davis was executed because he was guilty & that the legal system doesn't give a shit that Davis happened to be a Black man. Now that Davis has been executed & we're not in danger of trampling his legal rights, let's consider all the evidence including his unwashed bloody shorts that his family had hidden in their clothes dryer. The bloody, white Batman T-shirt that-
@DoubleR2591 Nobody can prove anything with 100% certainty, there's always at least a slight doubt. There was not a reasonable doubt as to Davis's guilt. There was a real thick coating of bullshit near the end of Davis's worthless life. Too many people used Davis, their true motivations were to further their personal cause. Nobody appears to mind giving Davis's sister & other supporters false hope while knowing full well that he would be executed.Demonstrates the character of Davis's supporters!
@70scarrestoguy They'll use whoever they need to further their political cause & they don't give a damn who gets their little feelings hurt during the process. I'm outa here, gotta fire up the grill & get ready to celebrate the departure of Keith Thurmond's 1 way ticket to Hell. Sure hope Texas doesn't stay his execution.
@70scarrestoguy And yet you support a system that executes people WITHOUT 100% certainity of their guilt. I don't care if its 99.99%. If you are going to execute someone you need to be 100% certain that person is guilty.
@70scarrestoguy Davis had changed out of & left at his alleged girlfriends residence. The recorded radio conversation between McPhail & the dispatch officer. McPhail chased 2 black men, caught up to the first & identified him to dispatch. Then he ordered the second man to stop, at which time Davis turned & fired at McPhail striking him in the face. The entire incident was audio recorded by McPhail's shoulder mounted radio & it's evidence that was used during the trial. Davis's lawyer had -
@70scarrestoguy focused on having evidence ruled as inadmissible rather than claim that Davis was innocent. They made a claim of innocence only after they exhausted other avenues of defense. Most of the bullshit you've heard was politics, originally spewed by the Anti's campaign to abolish capital punishment. Then the NAACP & the crooked reverend twins jumped on the Davis circus spewing their racism claims. The Davis supporters finally pressured the so called 7 recanting witnesses but none of -
@70scarrestoguy then recanted their previous testimony under oath. Even the 2 witnesses waiting to testify at the special evidentiary hearings never did. Davis's lawyer refused to have the witnesses sworn in to testify under oath because the recanting statements that Davis's lawyers prepared were false & their only value was as a sensationalized media smoke screen. The 7 recanting affidavits were to sway public opinion, hoping to pressure the District Court Judges to grant Davis a new trial.
@70scarrestoguy Pressuring the District Court Judges was 1 of Davis's lawyers last moves. Their last maneuver was to appeal to the Georgia Board of Pardons & Parole to grant clemency. They'd would've had a difficult time claiming racism against the (mostly Black) Board of Pardons & they had no choice but to claim innocence. The Georgia Board of Pardons was aware of the real deal & there's no way they'd grant clemency to a cop killer who refused to admit his guilt & ask for mercy. In the end -
@70scarrestoguy justice prevailed & Davis was finally executed after extending his life for an additional 20 years after his conviction. Sure the bleeding heart anti's grabbed all the free publicity they could to further their cause. The despicable politicians rode the back of Davis's hopeless cause, knowing full well that Davis couldn't lie his way out of receiving justice. The entire Davis circus was nothing more than political bullshit, too bad for those of you who swallowed their bullshit.
@DoubleR2591 Can you name a Whity who admittedly hates Black people due to their race? I can't think of anybody who I know of that admittedly or has been proven to hate other people because their skin has dark pigmentation. However; The New Black Panther Party is calling for racial violence against White people. That's a stupid thing to do since Whites account for nearly 80% of the U.S. population.Wouldn't surprise me if HIV was an engineered virus that targeted Blacks but mutated prematurely
Let's put this into perspective for a minute. A black man executed by Georgia (a southern state) for supposedly killing a white cop no matter how much his conviction is brought into doubt. Does anyone besides me think this screams racism?
@PriestChristopher why would it scream racism? Because it is the south? You sound like a bigot which is much worse!!!!!!! Everyone in the south isn't a racist, and there are PLENTY of racist in the north.
@PriestChristopher Would you please provide the literature from which you derive these "facts", NOT historical data, but recent data, since Troy Davis is a recent occurrence. Also make sure you provide the data about black racism toward whites too. It is people like you who keep racism alive and kicking in today's society!!!!
@disneydoll63 It would take me 1000 comments to list all the data and every case. Ask yourself honestly, if Troy Davis had been white and the officer black, would the state have been so hasty at executing him with serious doubt to his guilt? Of course not. It's not keeping racism alive to point to racism when you see it. By your logic, no one can call wrong when it's as obvious as the rain on their faces without upholding that wrong. Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away.
@PriestChristopher Where is your proof that this execution was racially motivated? Because he was black and the officer white? Then by your logic it would always be racism when a black person is executed for murdering a white.
@disneydoll63 I just watched a documentary on your point here. American Justice, I think. It's probably a little outdated but it makes sense. It's on YouTube, search it out if you're interested.
@PriestChristopher According to the Department of Justice • Almost 1 million white Americans were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by black Americans in 1992, compared with about 132,000 blacks who were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by whites, according to the same survey. Blacks thus committed 7.5 times more violent inter-racial crimes than whites even though the black population is only one-seventh the size of the white population.
@PriestChristopher When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: blacks are committing more than 50 times the number of violent racial crimes of whites. According to the latest annual report on murder by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, most inter-racial murders involve black assailants and white victims, with blacks murdering whites at 18 times the rate that whites murder blacks.
@disneydoll63 Why do you think that is? Because blacks are in more poverty and given less education than whites. They are more likely to be brought up in homes that don't care. Blame your own government for that. They make criminals and then punish them. But even with all that you said, that doesn't prove Troy Davis guilty, it does however give people like you a reason to establish bias against blacks who are accused of violent crimes. The court probably did the same.
@PriestChristopher Blacks have just as much chance for an education as anyone in the poverty level. Grants and scholarships are offered to blacks that no other ethnic group even qualify for. The government is to blame for blacks coming from homes that don't care? That is just ignorance on your part. Always blame someone else, never take personal responsibility; liberal thinking without a doubt. Your hate mongering against whites does not make him innocent. "Probably?" Is that your proof?
@disneydoll63 Hate mongering against whites? I AM white lol. Children who are brought up in households who are poor, don't care and don't teach them right from wrong are more likely to commit crime. Does the government give them equal educational opportunity when they cut funding to black schools and not whites like in Pennsylvania recently? Not everyone can get a scholarship, that's actually a rare privilege. I said the government is to blame for blacks in poverty and low education.
@PriestChristopher Just because you are white doesn't mean you can't hate monger; racism isn't just one way. Your comments about poor children not being cared about is the most bigoted, asinine, ignorant remark I have ever heard!! I work with the poor and I can guarantee you that your ignorant comment could not be further from the truth. But enough of you, I refuse to discuss this with someone who is so obviously out of touch with reality and obviously has his own agenda.
@disneydoll63 Ok so I'm racist against my own race. That's make tons of sense. Good job. You're obviously not going to accept anything other than what you want to believe, so I will leave you in Republican Wonderland where poor people are just lazy and forcing your morality on everyone else is the answer to all our problems.
@PriestChristopher Are you anti-government or anti capital punishment? What exactly about the Troy Davis execution has your panties bunched up? Just FYI: If you didn't download & read the legal transcripts, then your probably a victim of the politically driven media mind-fuck. If so; Try soaking your head in a bucket of ice water daily for at least as long as you swallowed the media distorted bullshit. This is especially helpful if you bounced from the Casey Anthony trial straight into the Troy-
@70scarrestoguy Davis bullshit scheme. Once again: The anti death penalty organizations, the Black organizations(NAACP etc) used the media driven mob tactic to sway public opinion against Capital Punishment. The ACLU & the despicable reverend twins political pressure toward the Federal Justices &/or State Judges to grant Davis a new trial was political grandstanding. They knew there was no chance to actually save Davis's life because they knew what the public wasn't being told. Davis was guilty
@70scarrestoguy Their all hoping to catch a free ride to D.C. upon the back of Troy Davis's death. Face it; You swallowed the red pill. People like yourself are easily swayed to think & act according to whatever the media ejaculates down your throat. The politically driven media knows all too well that many feeble minded individuals were conditioned (religious superstition) from their youth to swallow & regurgitate mind fucked bullshit without questioning the accuracy, truth or reality of it.
@disneydoll63 Try Googling Channon Christian & Chris Newsome, a White Tennessee couple who were tortured & murdered by a group of 5 black POS. Why did the national media refuse to cover the Christian/Newsome story? Probably because a story of 5 black thugs who carjacked, kidnapped, gang raped, tortured & murdered a young White couple is somehow considered to be "politically incorrect". All the "political correctness" in the world couldn't save Troy Davis because the POS was guilty as Hell.
@70scarrestoguy I've read about that crime. It was pure torture. They made her watch as they raped and murdered Chris, then they started in on her. They forced bleach down her throat to try and erase any trace of DNA, shows how stupid they were. All 5 of them should have gotten the death penaly including the woman with them!!!
The time for us to stop being white or black has come. Its time for us to Say we are American's and nothing else. We are American's and we need to be one. Conservatism says we must. The Democratic party is responsible for this death.
o.k. lets say you dont kill a killer , who will pay for his food along the years in jail ? why would l pay tax to feed a murder? l am not talking about Troy Davis , l dont known this case ! , l am talking in general ! why killers would be able to eat t-bone as example!... when some honest people who work hard can't afford it .. l do not touch the topic of education still !
@zippedlightning the person doin the execution is the killer. and honestly, some people just need to die. you should except the fact that some people are just evil and have no place on earth
Society must be better than the individual. Life is God's most precious gift and He orders us not to take it. The DP is inhumane and immoral, not to mention extremely painful. Society should not give 12 people the right to decide a whether or not a fellow citizen should die. It is God's decision. Now I'm not saying killers should run free, they should be put in prison for the rest of their lives without the possibility of parole. I have no problem with paying taxes to keep the killer alive
@zippedlightning You will when the reserve runs dry and your parents can't get their pensions when they're ready to retire and depend entirely on you to pay their health care.
@zippedlightning i agree 100%. either way they'll find another reason for us to pay taxes if it doenst go to the killers life. i always felt it was/is Gods decision.
@zippedlightning and your another liberal that will destroy USA.. WHAT IF??? A ESCAPED serial killer raped , tortured, brutally murdered your mom/dad/ brother/sister/ child....... God's' will? He had a bad child-hood? didnt get enough titty milk? He was bullied as a kid? Why waste $50-60,000 per year keeping a rabid dog alive? makes NO sense, none at all.............. Your probably one of those stupid liberal woman that would marry a poor, poor convict. They made there choice's.
@zippedlightning God's commandment is, "Thou shalt not commit murder." And I do have a problem paying taxes to keep something less than human alive, healthy, and better-fed than a lot of honest Americans As far as inhumane and immoral, what about what the victim(s) go through?.
@zippedlightning Prove the existence of God. Philosophically, the big bang and God are both up in the air. And while keeping them in prison works, it might be better for them to just die rather than rotting in a prison. Rights are not as clear as you seem to think. It's inhumane and immoral to kill a bunch of innocent people but you can't "rehabilitate" a serial killer or "show" them the truth. Leave it to "God" after they are dead.
Four of the five Black Thugs that were convicted of (46-felonies) from carjacking to torture & murder of (20s White couple) Channon Christian & Chris Newsom have been granted a new trial.A Tennessee investigation revealed the Judge was high on pain-killers during the trial. Those pieces of worthless shit weren't charged with any racially motivated hate crimes & the media refused coverage of the crimes.I smell the stench of Democrats Political Correctness manipulating minority crime statistics-
religions are made by devil there is only one god.we turn from the right road long long long...time ago and we all will burn in hell.there is no return on the right track especially in this time
@sweetkittytwine understand that incarcerating a person for the rest of their life is significantly cheaper then executing them. And it is very rare that 1st degree murder will result in freedom from prison 20 years later. Unless there is great evidence that the individual in jail is innocent. Death penalty is inhumane and the easier way out for criminals, life in jail is much worse, cheaper. The appeals that the criminals will push for can cost taxpayers up to millions.
@LQ826 Oh, Christ. "significantly cheaper". That's the most common lie being told about the death penalty. Show me some figures to back up that ridiculous claim. You can't, because it's a lie.
i'm saddened at the watching of this video....hopefully, the criminal justice system will get it right, someday, and find a away to make sure, before a man is put to death at the government's hand, that there is no mistake. otherwise, the death penalty should be ABOLISHED!!!! or maybe....God does have the LAST say, not mortal mankind....
@ seattlewashingtonfan. get ya shit right. im not racist unless you are racist to me, but first of all how many white folk have murdered and gotten away with it? whats your race and that will answer it all
ironically had he not been sentenced to death he'd had been out in 7 years. that's the average life sentence in georgia. so death row inmates there spend more time in prison than lifers....
None the less THIS CONVICTED MURDERER IS DEAD. Fuck all you nigger loving cheerleaders out there no matter what you say or how hard you cry the scumbag nigger is still dead AND THATS A GOOD THING
seattlewashingtonfan is right about stories like this being turned into race. However, I don't think that minorities are given the same opportunities in lot of cases, to be raised without the need for violence, and also are often "assumed guilty". I don't think that's the real story here, though. There was significant doubt as to his guilt. I think we, as the human race, have lost the right to decide if someone should live or die. Vengeance is my says the lord.
I strongly support the death penalty but I am not so sure if this guy is 100% guilty so he should not have been put to death. In my country his conviction would have been quashed simply based on the amount of witnesses recanting their testimony. Guess we will never know...
@fingustis@fingustis u know what i say and think... i think that anyone who confeses and admits there crimes, rape/murder should get the death penalty!! if not then the beast's and murders will do it again, either when they eventually get out of prison, or in some case's killing and rapeing while in jail???!!! so i say hang the bastards that admit there brutal crimes!!!! 100% then you will save alot of lives!!! "simple"
Ted Bundy looked respectable and normal too and he denied he did the crimes up till night before he was executed . even educated good looking people can be killers. and we know there is punishment for our crimes and the death penalty for 1st degree murder so a killer makes his choice. i feel bad for the family of victims that were killed and had no choice.
@sweetkittytwine Killing the killer does not change anything about the fact that he caused incredible grief. It's irreversible. Thus, it makes no sense to kill another person, guilty of the crimes he comitted, or not.
@stelderhaiderman If they kill once, they can kill again. Systems fail, humans get out, just to kill again. Put them down. They are monsters, not humans.
@sweetkittytwine Ted Bundy became a born again Christian. If you can find his last interview with 700 club, it is amazing about his transformation. But even he said he deserved to die. He was willing to suffer the consequences of his actions.
@70scarrestoguy honestly you wasted good time writing that because i dont give a crap. its over and done. what happened, happend. who knows what really happenex besides troy and the other dead guy. im young man, i dont make it a priority to stay updated on this ish. im still learning abt stuff. so tell someone who actually cares.
When a miscarriage of justice occurs especially concerning the death penalty, it is little more than a public lynching.
I am grateful my country, the United Kingdom, hasnt executed anyone since 1965. That doesnt mean im soft- convicted criminals should face punishment and in the case of heinous crimes, that should mean never having to see the outside of a cell.
@WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 DP should not be abolished just because u think so. your country can pay to feed house and medically care for the guy who rapes , mutilates, tortures and murders your child if u want them too. but here. we clean the garbage away and get rid of it so it can not get out one day and commit crime again. u can say life sentence but u better know the law when u say it because that can mean 20 yrs. and they are out again. even if they sit in prison 50 yrs i do not want to pay $
In reality DP is much more expensive than lifetime imprisonment, and that's a main reason why the US thinks about abolishing it. It's a tough, highly subjective question with nor right or wrong anser. Key is to respect opinions, and what annoys me is that DP opponents often think they are smarter.
Only a handful of countries still use the death penalty. China alone executes more people than the rest of the world combined.
In Asian countries that still use it, cruelty is added by refusing to let the condemned person's family know when they will die or even where they will be buried.
In the US, the electric chair is a bizarre and barbaric method to kill someone. Even if lethal injection is somewhat more humane, the death penalty, in my book has no place in the modern world.
the use of the death penalty in regimes such as China is not surprising because the Chinese Communist Party doesnt value human life- it is an evil regime and everyone knows it. But in a country like the US, the use of the death penalty makes it hard for Washington to lecture anyone else on human rights.
The US system is fundamentally flawed because of a) Overwhelmingly it is those who cannot defend themselves financially who pay the ultimate price b) Many have been executed on ...
... the flimsiest of 'evidence' and in some cases including that of Troy Davis, key evidence is ignored as our juror discrepancies c) The number of last minute exonerations- people who would have died, proves innocents have been executed d) it brutalises American society- many, disturbingly, want to see someone die in this way e) botched executions f) the prolonged time on death row makes little sense g) there seems to be a lack of consistency- truly heinous crimes have resulted in a death...
sentence whilst most murders in the US result in a life sentence, not death row- so why not save money and ban it altogether especially in these hard economic crimes.
Im not a bleeding heart lefty. I was forced from my home by gangs. And I would probably want blood if someone close to me was killed. Many of those on death row have commited horrible crimes and should face justice following a fair trial. But justice must not be based on revenge and the US death penalty is utterly flawed.
Troy Davis is dead and im pretty sure MacPhail family still feels the same way before Georgia killed Mr Davis..point is killing someone because they so called killed another person isnt right case had o much doubt for Mr Davis to be killed..and you people bringing up race its sad..we are in 2012 wake up and get over whatever it is your on.Dont like black people so much kill yourself so you wont have to be around blacks because blacks are here to stay just like any other race.
As the Mississippi Judge said "5 bullets in his head, 120 stab wounds on his back, and then hanging by the neck from a tree, this is the worst case of suicide by a Black man I have seen in 10 years on this bench".
Well done USA. Keep up the Civil Rights that you are fighting for in Irag and Afghanistan because we know your these soldiers are not dying for nothing
This is a sad case of justice gone bad. I don't know where this story stands now but aren't they finding out that he didn't do it? They pressured the confession?
@WWELORD420 Umm: Troy Davis wasn't executed by electrocution AKA The Chair. Georgia uses the triple needle to Hell, a few people believe that the second drug immobilizes the condemned POS. Allegedly there's a great deal of suffering because the second injection also paralyzes the diaphragm & the POS (allegedly) panics as he's slowly suffocating. The third drug stops the heart from beating & if it's true(NOT) that the POS can feel even though their immobilized, There must be a great deal of pain
Pity they didnt execute me? Sorry the ape was TRIED BY A JURY OF HIS PEERS and FOUND GUILTY OF THE CRIME HE COMMITTED. SENTENCE WAS APPROPRIATE AND HE PLAYED THE POOR BLACK OPPRESSED MAN CARD TO THE END. JUSTICE SERVED
@cortchubbby You're an ignorant, naive, idiot. Over 130 death row inmates have been freed from death row AFTER being convicted by a jury of their peers in the last 25 years. Fact is many innocent people get sentenced to death, especially in foreign countries. Juries are obviously far from perfect, prosecutors lie and hold back evidence, witnesses make mistakes and lie under pressure from prosecutors and police. Nobody should have the right to take a life and that includes the govt
It is not up to us to pass such judgement on others, ultimately I cannot support the death penalty because it just creates more death in a world that is utterly saturated with it.
If you think about it, people kill other people - even at the risk of death sentence. So I ask why the fuck is there even a death sentence? As long as there is, innocent people risk getting killed for shit they didn't do.
@TGBAgentOrange You should have your head bashed in for such a fucking stupid comment. STOP COMPARING SOUTH AFRICA'S FAILED CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT TO THE UNITED STATES. The death penalty is wrong and more expensive than letting legitimate killers rot in their cells and allowing wrongfully convicted felons to be exonerated. YOU DONT KNOW SHIT AND JUST HATE BLACK PEOPLE, FUCK YOU WHITE RACIST CUNT
@BieberOrDieChick Ignorant, illiterate fk-tards like yourself, who mindlessly ingest & then regurgitate sensationalized media bullshit really irritate me.Your too stupid to be from the U.S.A., therefore your fantasy derived opinions are meaningless. Go spew your bullshit routine to some British or Dutch guy, I'm getting impatient with all you borderline handicapped individuals telling us how to run our country. Self interpretation is obviously extremely susceptible to narcissistic flaws = UBDUMB
Over 35 witnesses either saw or were told by Troy Davis themselves that he killed Mark MacPhail. People want you to believe that this has something to do with race and the fact that the cop was white and Davis was black. This is irrelevant. He committed the crime. Anytime a minority is involved in crime, the ignorant NAACP or ACLU thinks that they have to get involved. People need to step up and own up for the crimes they commit instead of hiding behind these shameful organizations.
@seattlewashingtonfan Everyone has the right to be defended. Minority groups do have more to worry about than white people. 25% of arrest rates are black people, and 75% of conviction rates are black people. That's called racism.

Life without parole should equate to zero privileges & housed in a prison wing -
70scarrestoguy 1 day ago
@70scarrestoguy with others serving the same sentence. Maybe the U.S. needs a national prison facility for those who are sentenced to life without parole. Build it in Texas so that if they murder other inmates or prison staff, they can be sentenced to death & executed within 5 years.

Its sad that people still dont see that a person is NOT what they look like but a brother or sister mom or dad someone that people care about and the hearts that are broken a mom that feels the loose of her baby! Period.

missfatalefemme 5 days ago
@missfatalefemme Okay, I'll let you know what I think
DoubleR2591 5 days ago
@DoubleR2591 Actually: Since Gregg V Georgia affirmed that Capital Punishment was constitutionally legal when mitigating & aggravating guidelines were followed, more Whites (nearly 2:1) than Blacks have been executed by Federal & State prisons. Before 1972 (Furmann V Georgia), an even greater disparity of Whites than Blacks were legally executed. Society is ever changing, Blacks are currently 7-8 times more violent than Whites. Therefore: Not surprising that Davis (guilty) was legally executed
70scarrestoguy 3 days ago
@70scarrestoguy This may be so. However, the point I was trying to make was, a black man has a significant higher rate for facing the death penalty/being executed for murdering a white man in a "deep south" state such as Georgia. If this happened anywhere up North, he probably would still be alive with a life sentence
DoubleR2591 3 days ago
@DoubleR2591 The national death penalty statistics don't support your opinion, that a black man is more likely than a white man to receive a death sentence for a violent murder. National death penalty statistics actually indicate that a White man is more likely to receive a sentence of death. The Troy Davis circus was all about anti death penalty politics, no surprise that they dealt the race card from the bottom of the deck. No surprise that their going to benefit from Troy Davis's death

@DoubleR2591 Keith Thurmond (Caucasian male) is going to be executed, on Wednesday, by the great State of Texas. 70scarrestoguy 3 days ago

Shit happens right
70scarrestoguy 1 day ago

@DoubleR2591 I did take it for it's face value after I read the transcripts regarding the Davis case. There was a real thick coating of bullshit near the end of Davis's worthless life. Too many people used Davis, their true motivations were to further their personal cause. Then the NAACP & the crooked reverend twins jumped on the Davis circus spewing their racism claims. The Davis supporters finally pressured the so called 7 recanting witnesses but none of -
70scarrestoguy 1 day ago
@70scarrestoguy then recanted their previous testimony under oath. Even the 2 witnesses waiting to testify at the special evidentiary hearings never did. The 7 recanting affidavits were to sway public opinion, hoping to pressure the District Court Judges to grant Davis a new trial.
70scarrestoguy 1 day ago
@70scarrestoguy Pressuring the District Court Judges was 1 of Davis's lawyers last moves. Their last maneuver was to appeal to the Georgia Board of Pardons & Parole to grant clemency. They'd would've had a difficult time claiming racism against the (mostly Black) Board of Pardons & they had no choice but to claim innocence. The Georgia Board of Pardons was aware of the real deal & there's no way they'd grant clemency to a cop killer who refused to admit his guilt & ask for mercy. In the end -

PriestChristopher 2 weeks ago
@PriestChristopher why would it scream racism? Because it is the south? You sound like a bigot which is much worse!!!!!!! Everyone in the south isn't a racist, and there are PLENTY of racist in the north.
disneydoll63 2 weeks ago
@disneydoll63 It is social and historical fact that racism is a huge problem in the South.
PriestChristopher 2 weeks ago
@PriestChristopher Would you please provide the literature from which you derive these "facts", NOT historical data, but recent data, since Troy Davis is a recent occurrence. Also make sure you provide the data about black racism toward whites too. It is people like you who keep racism alive and kicking in today's society!!!!
disneydoll63 1 week ago
@disneydoll63 It would take me 1000 comments to list all the data and every case. Ask yourself honestly, if Troy Davis had been white and the officer black, would the state have been so hasty at executing him with serious doubt to his guilt? Of course not. It's not keeping racism alive to point to racism when you see it. By your logic, no one can call wrong when it's as obvious as the rain on their faces without upholding that wrong. Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away.
PriestChristopher 1 week ago
@PriestChristopher Where is your proof that this execution was racially motivated? Because he was black and the officer white? Then by your logic it would always be racism when a black person is executed for murdering a white.
disneydoll63 1 week ago
@disneydoll63 I just watched a documentary on your point here. American Justice, I think. It's probably a little outdated but it makes sense. It's on YouTube, search it out if you're interested.
missfatalefemme 5 days ago
@PriestChristopher According to the Department of Justice • Almost 1 million white Americans were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by black Americans in 1992, compared with about 132,000 blacks who were murdered, robbed, assaulted or raped by whites, according to the same survey. Blacks thus committed 7.5 times more violent inter-racial crimes than whites even though the black population is only one-seventh the size of the white population.
disneydoll63 1 week ago
@PriestChristopher When these figures are adjusted on a per capita basis, they reveal an extraordinary disparity: blacks are committing more than 50 times the number of violent racial crimes of whites. According to the latest annual report on murder by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, most inter-racial murders involve black assailants and white victims, with blacks murdering whites at 18 times the rate that whites murder blacks.
disneydoll63 1 week ago
@disneydoll63 Why do you think that is? Because blacks are in more poverty and given less education than whites. They are more likely to be brought up in homes that don't care. Blame your own government for that. They make criminals and then punish them. But even with all that you said, that doesn't prove Troy Davis guilty, it does however give people like you a reason to establish bias against blacks who are accused of violent crimes. The court probably did the same.
PriestChristopher 1 week ago
@PriestChristopher Blacks have just as much chance for an education as anyone in the poverty level. Grants and scholarships are offered to blacks that no other ethnic group even qualify for. The government is to blame for blacks coming from homes that don't care? That is just ignorance on your part. Always blame someone else, never take personal responsibility; liberal thinking without a doubt. Your hate mongering against whites does not make him innocent. "Probably?" Is that your proof?
disneydoll63 1 week ago
@disneydoll63 Hate mongering against whites? I AM white lol. Children who are brought up in households who are poor, don't care and don't teach them right from wrong are more likely to commit crime. Does the government give them equal educational opportunity when they cut funding to black schools and not whites like in Pennsylvania recently? Not everyone can get a scholarship, that's actually a rare privilege. I said the government is to blame for blacks in poverty and low education.
PriestChristopher 1 week ago
@PriestChristopher Just because you are white doesn't mean you can't hate monger; racism isn't just one way. Your comments about poor children not being cared about is the most bigoted, asinine, ignorant remark I have ever heard!! @disneydoll63 Try Googling Channon Christian & Chris Newsome, a White Tennessee couple who were tortured & murdered by a group of 5 black POS. Society should not give 12 people the right to decide a whether or not a fellow citizen should die. It is God's decision. Now I'm not saying killers should run free, they should be put in prison for the rest of their lives without the possibility of parole. I have no problem with paying taxes to keep the killer alive

The appeals that the criminals will push for can cost taxpayers up to millions.

seattlewashingtonfan is right about stories like this being turned into race.

@fingustis @fingustis u know what i say and think... i think that anyone who confeses and admits there crimes, rape/murder should get the death penalty!! if not then the beast's and murders will do it again, either when they eventually get out of prison, or in some case's killing and rapeing while in jail???!!! so i say hang the bastards that admit there brutal crimes!!!! 100% then you will save alot of lives!!! "simple"

Ted Bundy looked respectable and normal too and he denied he did the crimes up till night before he was executed . even educated good looking people can be killers. and we know there is punishment for our crimes and the death penalty for 1st degree murder so a killer makes his choice. i feel bad for the family of victims that were killed and had no choice.
sweetkittytwine 1 month ago 15

But the death penalty should be abolished.
WORLD8NSH5KNIGHT1 1 month ago

JUSTICE SERVED
cortchubbby 1 month ago

TheGuyNamedCris 1 month ago
If you think about it, people kill other people - even at the risk of death sentence. So I ask why the fuck is there even a death sentence? As long as there is, innocent people risk getting killed for shit they didn't do.

People need to step up and own up for the crimes they commit instead of hiding behind these shameful organizations.
seattlewashingtonfan 1 month ago 16
@seattlewashingtonfan Everyone has the right to be defended. Minority groups do have more to worry about than white people. 25% of arrest rates are black people, and 75% of conviction rates are black people. That's called racism.
