I was in Ivory Caost in Feb. President Obama, the U.N. and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), declared Ouattara the winner. BUT THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF IVORY COAST alledged cheating/ ballot stuffing/ and gunpoint persuasion of voters so those votes were discounted and they declared that Gbagbo officially won.
The point being – this would be like the rest of the world telling the U.S. that Al Gore won the Florida election. Don't trample national sovereignty!
Inhoffe is BY FAR one of the most disgraceful morons to ever exist in the USA. Take every thing this dumbfuck says and REVERSE it, you may have some common sense.

at 10:30 when he holds up the tabulations of the regions and their votes, I would like to know his source of these tabulations. I think that is equally important. Senator Inhofe sounds convincing to me, but I need to go on more than his word and a piece of paper in his hand.
Please check this video and add it to your file. French forces are shooting on a non-violent crowd in Abidjan, killing numerous individuals. it 's a holocaust on the making.
PLease go to ivorian.net and check in the right column the video entitled - French “Force Licorne” fire on Ivorian civilians, Killing Patriotes(10.4)
Please STOP US government and France from continuing this atrocities and War Crime.
Please tell Obama that Africans are deeply deceive by his mandate because today he is backing France a country which in 50 years have continuously exploited all the ex-colonies. French are killing ivoirians because of a fraudulent election which took place in the north of Ivory coast with the help of milicia of Allassane Ouattara
@ifbuckythenjava Always we blame foreigners when are we going to count on our-self? We need to collaborate with foreign countries to make CI prosperous. If you are outside of CI start sending money to ONG or organizations like Red-Cross.
With all what has happen since 2000, it is very clear that we need 2 prime ministers. One to be elected by those in the north and the other for the people in the south. Both then form a government on a 50 to 50 base. The head of state is not going to be elected but will be chosen by the unity government such that there is always a shift for north to south. Everybody have to follow the constitution, the should be a single unified Army representing all Ivorians. Let stand up together.
My brother Ivorian. Weather we like it or not Our country is being destroy. From North to South, are people are suffering, no matter weather we are form the north or south, catholic or Muslim, We the people of Ivory Coast have to work together. It is not us Ivorian that are raping, killing, and destroy our country but people from outside. I don't care who won this election. Africans are looking at us, this is our moment, please let stand up like a people together and bring an end to all these.
thanks for trying to save the life of ivoirians people make sure that they consider the other of the story instead of sticking to what the medias feeding people all lies with no verification
Thank you for looking into this matter. Finally, someone decided to say the truth. There is conspiracy going on against Gbagbo. Thank you again Mr. Senator
Let us recount the votes. What does it cost? Is it too much to ask of Alassane instead of all this bloodshed in both parties. If you win, I'll accept it, just as I was ready to accept if it had been announced the Bakayoko on the national channel, for all of us to see. But it seems TRUTH, is something that Alassane, the UN and France, are never going to want to let out. But it doesn't matter, LET'S CONTINUE THE PRAYER FOR CI. Our victory over the lies is near ...
At least it will be fair. And that time if it is found that Allassane has more votes, most of the people such as me who are supporting him, will have no ground to protest on. Because right now, we do have more ground to protest. It doesn't seem as such a big deal. and most of the people allied to him would leave him if it was discovered that Alassane was the real winner. For right now, the fraud that has happened with Bakayako an France makes him more of the loser than the winner.
I am respectful for the Senator, but I think he is not really informed of our situation in Cote d'Ivoire. After elction on last november 28th, the score of Mr Gbagbo was the same like the first round. And during the election in 2000 and 2001, if you remember, Mr gbagbo was at the level in this part of country and so he won any seat there.
O.O He never said his score was not the same. Did you hear anything about what he was saying? That the votes were wrong in some cities and that he had the number by which they were off in those same region. He also said that it was not normal that in region were he was able to get at least 1000 votes, he got on the second tour 0 vote. Why are you trying to transform what he said?
Now when your family name is from the North they call them foreigner. I’m from the South of CI and this ethnicity division did hurt our wonderful country and if you like Ivory Coast you should help restoring the country unification which has been destroyed.
As an American you should play a peace keeper role instead of taking one side and look for country unity. We grew up in CI and the people from South and North were living in harmony. But to eliminate M. Ouattara (ex-prime minister) from the presidential candidature, M. Gbagbo highlights differences between ethnic groups and ends up divided Ivorians.
Hmmm, if i remember correctly, according to our constitution, only people Ivorian from BOTH parents could be a candidate. That rule was established by our Boigny himself. Do you remember? And BEDIE, started the Ivoirity thing. The french also describe Alassane as Ivorian with Burkinabe parents. Gbagbo did highlight that, in the same way Hillary & McCain did for Obama. Politics is dirty, I convene. But, please stop making Gbagbo as the one who divided the country when he is not.
I’m not for Ouattara or Gbagbo, I think you should be more objective. In your statement you did not mention a single atrocity that the former president Laurent Gbagbo has done recently in CI, just before UN did some actions in CI. Take a look of these videos, they speak for themselves. For instance shooting girls and mothers during a women march or bombing, yes bombing a market.
IT IS SO IMPOSIBLE for Mr Ouattara to win the election. SO IMPOSIBLE . Ivory Coast has never been independent. It does not have its own currency because the french imposed it to the Ivorian just like all french African states.People claim Ouattara is legitimate what about his rebellion since 2002.Rebel killed so so many people. but no news has reported that. the world is so unfair. UN France just want to imposed Ouattara to the Ivorians.that's so unfair.
I'm not refusing that there is no problem in Ivory coast and please it is very normal. When there is a problem we talk, at least our people will not be killed.
After a disputed election, that is very normal, the votes can be recounted. If Allassane Ouattara after recounting wins, all of us will respect that.
I do not hate anybody and I will not shout at any one here. At least we have to be honest to our self. The only way to settle this out is to check and recount the votes. It is very easy.
SAD TO SEE A US SENATOR ACTING AS A PROPAGANDA MOUTHPIECE FOR GBAGABO.
THIS GUY HAS ZERO CREDIBILITY. THANK GOD GBAGBO WHO HAS BEEN IN POWER ILLEGALLY FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS IS FINISHED. ONCE GONE WOMEN CAN WALK THE STREETS AGAIN WITHOUT BEING SHOT AT WITH TANKS
The world should really start believing in the Ivorian people.
Allassane Ouattara has inflicted upon us Ivorian a lot of pain. We have suffered a lot because of just one person and no body ever came to our help.
Even as his rebels are still killing us, he is being backed by the US Administration, United Nation and US. They are practically fighting together, can you believe that, the UN Oh God. What we have seen these last few weeks is too bad. We really need the world to start tell the truth.
How can the entire western world not know that Ouattara is a rebel and since 2000.
If you see what the French and the United Nations have done in Ivory Coast. It is beyond human thinking. Even the Devil is not that bad.
4000 Dead, raped, burned bodies of pregnant women, I'm sorry it is horrible and the US is supporting such a person. We African are shocked. At this moment as we I'm writing Ouattara rebels are raping and killing our mothers and sisters.
He is a very honest man and not just only from today. He has been speaking our but no body wants to listen him. He is the only person in the western world that is speaking the truth. Thank you very very much Senator.
We will never ever forget you. I can say this because I know that as far back as February you have been saying the truth.
In the moment of Darkness in our present history, you stood for the truth. Thank you very much Sir and please, please keep talking.
None sense, how much of cote d ivoire CFA have you received to play this role mr lobbyst, you are not credible at all and your statement resemble strangely to what Gbagbo and his people are shouting about, your a disgrace of the free word , a disgrace for America. You know nothing about Cote d ivoire and better ask informations from your ambassador on ground instead of coming to waste people time with your show.
@flokeus Whatever the Senator receive is not really matter. Someone need to stop the slaughter in Ivory Coast! You people are the disgraceful talking about free world and all these bullshit while your country is bombarding by foreigners on the name of democracy! Ambassador on the ground like the rest of the bunch of people calling themself international community are corrupt, partisan and are not acting in the interest of law and order or protection of civilians. Cut the bullshit and wake up
Mr Ouattara has Sarko's foot deep in his behind that he can't even think straight...He's a valet parking for the so called "international community"...Une veritable bande de voyou sans morale...
Now for this impostor, France is killing ivorians. So far 2307 people had been killed by the French bombing. At this crutial time, when we aere talking about the killing in the west of CI France shows everyone she the python behind the rebelion and Ado. Cote d'Ivoire will fight to the final victory.
the truth is always bitter to hear, thumbs up senator!!, there is a hidden agenda on this crisis. FRANCE!, leave your former colonies alone, more than 50yrs after independence, you still control the fiscal policy your former african colonies. what a shame to hudlums like Ouatarra to be dining with french exploitants.Gbagbo realised it 10yrs ago and exposed the ills of the french influence in CI, he became the enemy. That is why i hate France with all my heart.
Ouattara has rejected mediation and shown that he will go to all lengths to ensure that he becomes the president. He did not win the election and he knows this because he conspired with France and the head of the electoral commission to steal the election. And he proved this by rejecting the idea of a recount. His calls for work strikes following the election were completely unfollowed. Now he is willing to kill as many people as it takes to get into power. 2002 he failed, 2011 he will fail!!
afrika used to be one nation so there are no alien her or there is the withe man tha keep us apart and you ma brothers and sister killin a others where is afrika going to even belive we use to belive in nature and now we belive jezus becauze the withe man say so
we just need to open our eyes insted to be hatin and killin one and other
@union8072 thanks man pray for me but do it in our own language insteed of inglish or france
you guys need to open your eyes we dont need a hater just a president and you guys just hatin on julas cuz they make money talking about you are not ivoiriaans hahah you need help from god becuz afrika is one where one before the slavery and in my eyes afrika still one nation i can go and stand everywhere i want in afrika dont need no beté or baoulé to tell me that
How can you bomb places and the only dead people we find are dead civilians, seriously u lot need to rethink who is killing who in Cote D'Ivoire. Democracy u lot talking about, but you are the one using guns yeah?! you only create hate!
It was an unnecessary evil. And if you do remember correctly the body found were from innocent people, member of the RDR and memberrs of the FPI with more or less military. Please do go look for the truth, the investigator and videos from that time, showed pro-Ouattara's in the street some with knife (like always) others (rare were those with guns) and others with rocks, etc. All of them reclaiming that Alassane should have been able to go through the election.
I remember as we went through the street, people were attacking from every sides. We, like always had trees branch in our hands, the FPI was not as prepared as the other, reason why the military intervene. So what are you saying, that the fact that people from everyside died on this dark day, justified that your rebel army of now, went ahead and decapitated more than a 1000 of people up north? You people ...
All of you people from RHDP, seems to forget that there is a GOD above all, that sees through lies and truth. We will all be judged for what we have done: the real criminals, the one who had to kill to defend, the innocents, even those who knew about the killings but said nothing or excused the criminals. Think about that be4 making the lies and protecting murderers who have innocents blood on their hand since 2002, and seem to enjoy killing.
Plus, Simone's a classy lady who hopefully ends up in the Hague with Laurent: I find her at her most charming when she declares that rape victims are to blame for their own rape.
im from ivory coast and im so happy that someone from USA government is seeing what that individu of ado the rebel is doing in our country, this man is killing our people, young man, pregnant women, this man is a sycho path who only interesting in being president in a country when noone want him,he wanst to impose himself in CI.he is the reason why we are in deep problem, bgabgo is not perfect but i will choose him 1000000 time over ado.THANK YOU SENATOR,FOR IMFORMINg every body.THANK YOU.
This man is not credible, he is just saying things that he was told. They just discover the cadavers in Duekoue, how do you know, how many were caused by Alassane and how many were caused by the milicia? At least, he did reconize that he is a friend of gbagbo and his wife, that at least gives us a clear understanding of why everything is ADO's fault. For more than 3 months people have been killed, women protesting were killed with heavy weapons, where was that senator?
Were were you in 2002 when those rebels you are defending attacked our parents? When they commited such atrocities that they put the movie "Tears of the sun" atrocities to shame ? Everything that has been happening is ADO's fault since 2002. Now he is giving the truth of what is happening. Tonight, the licorne has bombarded our military camp, making it explode and killing many military and civilians in the process. What rights did they have? Thankfully, GOD will judge us all. Liars.
africans.....what the heck people!!!! when Gbagbo was killing people where were you? he armed civils from his side so they could kill supporters of Alassane....none sense
africans.....what the heck people!!!! when Gbagbo was killing people where were you? he armed civils from his side so they could kill supporters of Alassane....none sense
@joliedemoiselle1 What a hell are you saying? Ouattara was the first to kill, he was the first to use violence in Politic, he is the one who create a rebellion in Ivory Coast, don't you want people to defend themselves? Do you want them let Ouattara rebels kill people without reacting, when Gbagbo react you accused him of killing, Do you want him staying there without doing anything, try to be honest once in your life, just once in your life,Thruth is coming soon
What did Alassane do when the Abobo war was brought on? Weren't the people caught civilians pro Ouattaras that he and his rebel army armed? From both side people took the arms voluntarily. Becoz they believed in their "leaders". So stop making it look like Gbagbo forced us or any other civilians to take the arms. WE VOLUNTARILY DECIDED 2 FIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY. We believe in Gbagbo who was with us though thick and thin, unlike Alassane who is always hiding behind France.
Thank you Senator for stating the truth and may God bless you!
This indiidual Ouattara and his rebel groups are currently committing atrocities of unimaginable proportions on unarmed defensely civilians populations in all of the cities, towns and villages uner their control, with the blessings of Obama and his fried Sarkozy. These egregious acts of ethnic purifications constitue a GENOCIDE, Barack Obma's GENOCIDE. The 1st black US president to authorizeand facilitate another GENOCIDE in Africa!
as far i am concerned Gbagbo people called patriote were the first burning people alive in Abidjan , they are some proof. as far as the massacre in Duekoue it's too fast to accuse Allassane. so wait and see what the investigation will reveale
Why are you still lying? Who started raping and dismenbering people in 2002 ? Who started making family drink the blood of their own members hein ? Or did you forget that in 2002, the same rebels of Alassane did that to our parents up north of the country, all of that in the name of Alassane? I have lost too many people, and I am still losing friends and family becos of the same murderers are doing it all over again. Enough with you murderers and liars. THE TRUTH WILL TRIUMPH !
Finally someone is saying the truth on our crisis. Thanks be to God for everything that is going on. Finally someone is telling the truth about the murders commited by the rebel Ouattara and his army. Senator, you, at least wanted to know the truth, and you got it. Our suffering will end soon. Gloire a Dieu, Yawhe-Sabbaoth.
alassane ouattara's rebels helped by french army and onu are bombarding righ now ivory coast. those rebels since 2002 couldn't take the country but in4 days since 30-31 took 80% of country.800people killed in duekue by those rebels onu did not do anything.Burning peoplealive check it on youtube if sensitive don't watch. Ivorians arreted today for protested without violance against sarkozy in france check on utube) and check videos of clifcivoirevideo link under. Help Ivory Coast!!!!! help us!!!
senator why did you call Allassane an individu @1:26 this is disrespectful. and i am a christian and I'm for Allassane. this political situation is not a religious one how you state it . and as you said you have some acquaintance with Gbagbo . so you will surely go to incriminate Allassane not Gbagbo. plz try to say the truth. for your knowlegde Gbagbo is the one who refuse the dialogue
i am from ivoiry coast and thanks Lord people will know the truth about that guy Alascane is a killer and has to be judge and put to jail for the things that he made against our country
@soutichou I'd doubt you are from Cote d'ivoire. Not only you don't know what you are talking about, but you can't even spell "Allassane" correctly! The truth is that the Dictator Gbagbo has been ruling this country for 10 years, killing his own people, failling to provide the minimum needs for the population, Stealing and so on....
All of the above lead Ouattara to win the election. Sorry for your lost, but the people of Ivory Coast have cast their vote for Allassane. Thank you!!
@gnamakoudji Spelling Allassane Ouattara correctly doesnt confer anyone the Ivorian nationality! Now you dare talking about dictatorship. Your mentor has not been sitting in office yet that he is killing people! People has been killing in ivory Coast and the killings and abuses continuous! So anyone trying to stop that happening by any mean necessary is welcome! You should be ashame!
The easiest way was to recount! it is cheaper than weapons and nobody has do die! it is surprising that Mr Ouattara who is so sure of his victory, and has the so called "international community" with him+the rebels called now "FRCI", + the majority of the population, according to him didn't point at this solution! now to take Abidjan he needed help from UN and Licorne, bombarding people in their own country! then you call him a democratically elected president? this must be a bad joke
@MKasH225 If you knew more about Cote d'Ivoire you should know that you can't recount when there is fraud ...(smartass) it's a law in their constitution...they have to redo the elections, this is the only way !! Now the fact that Mr Ouattara is opposed to this is very understandable (from an African Politician) ...He knows that after all the events following the elections he might loose many many votes xP
@popaul3d Yes I do know a lot about the constitution of my country, and I read the entire electoral code! recounting was to settle parties, Gbagbo said there was fraud Ouattara didn't, and recounting would have helped see where and especially who benefited from the fraud if fraud there was, it is not a constitutional remedy, a bit like all the mediations which took place afterwards, it is not in the constitution but we did it to avoid what happened!
Have you ever lived in Côte d'Ivoire, at least in the past five years? How did you found education, health...Have ever gave yourself for helping people in any country in the world? Shame on you
Very simple. It so easy and the problem is solved. Believe me, this is one of the event that I believe the African people will never forgive the leaders of the present American Administration.
Some of us do not even have the courage to pronounce name Obama. I'm very sorry to say this, it is not hate but that the way we really feel, he is like the Devil for some of us. We have never experience such a cool Blooded Leader of the US. We did not attack the US or wished it harm. Nothing.
This is retarded. I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Cote d'Ivoire and lived in the country and Gbagbo is a misguided autocrat and killer. Not sure why Inhofeis a fan of Gbagbo, except maybe that the Senator mistakenly sees Gbagbo as a bulwark against Islam. That's wrong -- it's not a religious conflict. Also, Inhofe should learn to pronounce some of the names he's using. It might give him a shred of credibility.
When Simone was a member of the parliament, she was already maried to Laurent Gbagbo. And Cote d'Ivoire is not divided like he said. There roughly 40% Muslim, 30% Christians and 30% Guys like me who do not believe in Jesus nor in Allah. They are called animist there.
@antifrenchify its just because ouattara is stupid and all he wants is the power.so the french government is helping him to get the power then they can run the country thru him. And gbagbo actually told the french governement that he doesnt wanna work with them
Im ivorian and this is totally true.. ( there are actually some mistakes about kofi anan but this guy is right) there is something that they all forgot about.. Ouattarra tried so many times to get the power by using rebellion and many people got killed. He even said he is gonna run this country anyways, no matter what. And for some reason the UN and the french governement support him
i don`t know why the french are so reluctant to cut complete ties from its former african colonies. Men like Gbagbo are gonna run through history amongst the likes fo Sekou Toure, Thomas Sankara etc
That's because under the current constitution, ouattara could not be a presidential candidate. Gbagbo had a use special provisions of the constitution to authorize him. All these efforts were made in the name of peace. But sadly, Gbagbo is being turned into a Robert mugabe of west Africa. He is not. He is not perfect. I don't agree with everything he does but he deserve some credit instead of being treated like a dictator or a criminal. Hope this helps someone.
There is no doubt that ouattara is a good economist but he is the last person to teach us anything about democracy. Ouattara's problem was his nationality and the person who tried to stop him from being involved in politics in the Ivory Coast wasn't Gbagbo but rather his current political associate called Konan Bedie. He even released an international warrant for ouattara to be arrested.
lastly, you should know that it was Gbagbo who authorized ouattara to be presidential candidate.
U r very funny people u r. This guys has nothing to prove. Ivory Coast is not is country but still take time and efforts to make some research and his result does not go your way, well you react as well.... you know what I mean. Anyhow the truth always come out one day in one form or another...
Are any of you guys Ivorian? I am Ivorian and I can tell you that this guy has done his homework. I can confirm that what he has just said is true. Of course there are little mistake like the one you pointed out Koffi Annan.
In case you don't know, we know democracy today in the Ivory Coast because of Gbagbo. He spent 30 years in opposition. He was imprisoned and beaten by ouattara who was a prime minister at the time. It was the one party rule at the time.
@magatte. yea the so called ouatarra had a PhD as u said. why did he accepted to be the prime minister of the former dictator Felix hophouet boigny who died in power after over 30 years in power. beside the senators facts and evidence are quite clear. I don`t blame you to be so limited, beside what are 25,0000 french citezens doing in a country that barely feeds its citezens? if not reaping the resources through the help of idiots like Guilluime Soro who have
what a retard. just befcause you are chummy with a dictator and his wife, you chose to embarss your office by spreading their propaganda with absolutely no clue as to the background of either Alassane Ouattara (former vice director of the International Monetary Fund, former prime minister and PhD in Economics from UPenn) and present him as some sort of warlord... And winner of an election tighly supervised by the UN. what a a sheer sell out and tool. Shameful.

O.O He never said his score was not the same. Did you hear anything about what he was saying? That the votes were wrong in some cities and that he had the number by which they were off in those same region. He also said that it was not normal that in region were he was able to get at least 1000 votes, he got on the second tour 0 vote. Why are you trying to transform what he said?
konarigato 11 months ago
Now when your family name is from the North they call them foreigner. I’m from the South of CI and this ethnicity division did hurt our wonderful country and if you like Ivory Coast you should help restoring the country unification which has been destroyed.
johnrossyt 11 months ago 2
As an American you should play a peace keeper role instead of taking one side and look for country unity. We grew up in CI and the people from South and North were living in harmony. But to eliminate M. Ouattara (ex-prime minister) from the presidential candidature, M. Gbagbo highlights differences between ethnic groups and ends up divided Ivorians.
johnrossyt 11 months ago 2
@johnrossyt
But, please stop making Gbagbo as the one who divided the country when he is not.
konarigato 11 months ago
@konarigato Gbagbo did use this instrument (ethnicity) and became an expert. He claims to be a panafrican, it did just the opposite.

UN France just want to imposed Ouattara to the Ivorians.that's so unfair.

dorlieabidjan 11 months ago
I'm not refusing that there is no problem in Ivory coast and please it is very normal. When there is a problem we talk, at least our people will not be killed.
After a disputed election, that is very normal, the votes can be recounted. If Allassane Ouattara after recounting wins, all of us will respect that.
I do not hate anybody and I will not shout at any one here. At least we have to be honest to our self. The only way to settle this out is to check and recount the votes. It is very easy.

THIS GUY HAS ZERO CREDIBILITY. THANK GOD GBAGBO WHO HAS BEEN IN POWER ILLEGALLY FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS IS FINISHED. ONCE GONE WOMEN CAN WALK THE STREETS AGAIN WITHOUT BEING SHOT AT WITH TANKS
mukuag 11 months ago

Is that really what America is all about?

He is a very honest man and not just only from today. He has been speaking our but no body wants to listen him. He is the only person in the western world that is speaking the truth. Thank you very very much Senator.

In the moment of Darkness in our present history, you stood for the truth. Thank you very much Sir and please, please keep talking.

@TheBallao
All of them reclaiming that Alassane should have been able to go through the election.
konarigato 11 months ago
@TheBallao
You people ...
konarigato 11 months ago
All of you people from RHDP, seems to forget that there is a GOD above all, that sees through lies and truth. We will all be judged for what we have done: the real criminals, the one who had to kill to defend, the innocents, even those who knew about the killings but said nothing or excused the criminals. Think about that be4 making the lies and protecting murderers who have innocents blood on their hand since 2002, and seem to enjoy killing.

TheBallao 11 months ago 4
@TheBallao
Liars.

agada2008 11 months ago
@joliedemoiselle1

@soutichou I'd doubt you are from Cote d'ivoire. Not only you don't know what you are talking about, but you can't even spell "Allassane" correctly!
MKasH225 11 months ago 22
@MKasH225 If you knew more about Cote d'Ivoire you should know that you can't recount when there is fraud ...(smartass) it's a law in their constitution...they have to redo the elections, this is the only way !! Now the fact that Mr Ouattara is opposed to this is very understandable (from an African Politician) ...He knows that after all the events following the elections he might loose many many votes xP
popaul3d 11 months ago 2
@popaul3d "he might loose many many votes...." which he didn't have and will never have.
bedfil 11 months ago
@popaul3d Yes I do know a lot about the constitution of my country, and I read the entire electoral code! recounting was to settle parties, Gbagbo said there was fraud Ouattara didn't, and recounting would have helped see where and especially who benefited from the fraud if fraud there was, it is not a constitutional remedy, a bit like all the mediations which took place afterwards, it is not in the constitution but we did it to avoid what happened!

It might give him a shred of credibility.

antifrenchify 11 months ago
That's because under the current constitution, ouattara could not be a presidential candidate. Gbagbo had a use special provisions of the constitution to authorize him. All these efforts were made in the name of peace. But sadly, Gbagbo is being turned into a Robert mugabe of west Africa. He is not. He is not perfect. I don't agree with everything he does but he deserve some credit instead of being treated like a dictator or a criminal. Hope this helps someone.
solarwindenergy4u 11 months ago 2
There is no doubt that ouattara is a good economist but he is the last person to teach us anything about democracy. Ouattara's problem was his nationality and the person who tried to stop him from being involved in politics in the Ivory Coast wasn't Gbagbo but rather his current political associate called Konan Bedie. He even released an international warrant for ouattara to be arrested.
lastly, you should know that it was Gbagbo who authorized ouattara to be presidential candidate.
