He was in Orlando doing a showing at a small mall. He probably got the same reception "But you're Paul Stan-ley" LOL and the place was probably packed like a stadium. The guy wasn't there to play Detroit Rock City he just wanted to show his paintings. Well Van Gough...now you know.
I wouldn't pine to shake Paul Stanley's hand. He's a very arrogant, money and fame grubbing kike. That fat ass lady who said "but you're Paul Stanley!" needs to get a life. All that does is stroke his ego but if you're not a perfect 10 he can pretend to hit on for his image (it's obvious he's as gay as they come), or you buy one of his shitty, 3rd grade level paintings, you're dirt to him.

@abloom1970 and what do you base your comment on, actual experience? I did purchase a painting from Paul and met him, and even though I knew the only reason I was able to meet him and the reason he was quite gracious toward me probably was because I just paid him over a $1,000 for a painting of his, but it was a great experience that I would never take back. I can also imagine if I were to cross paths with him today, he would remember me. Look for my 5 comments I made 2 years ago...
I saw one of his paintings at a Wentworth in Orlando and I gotta say I wasn't inpressed either. Looked like a tie dye without the "tie". there was just nothing to it.
It's the policy of the gallery that requires people to purchase paintings to hang out with and get things signed by Paul. He's only there for a few hours.
i never dictated who SHOULD BE in galleries selling art.... i simply dictated who SHOULD NOT be in galleries.... get a show under an assumed name and see if these "fantastic" works fly off the shelves... Paul you are letting some rich gallery owner profit off of making you look like a fool... and use you! for what? a few dollars more.... ? TACKY TACKY TACKY
man Im not a heckler... his MUSIC made him famous and wealthy... why does this guy gotta cheese out and clog up the galleries that un discovered talented artists should be displaying in... i said TALENTED artists. Im an oil painter and THIS SUCKS. "I dont have time for you guys unless you are buying a painting" what a douche elitist prick. This reminds me of another musician whose music I like but tries to fancy himself a painter: Paul McCartney, great music guys, dont quit your day jobs...
yep im infantile.... thats why i like to see ART digress by leaps and bounds.... and true painters get pushed aside... and im Jealous that Paul Stanley sells art that looks like stuff i did when i was 7 years old.... HA. the point of what i said is LOST on people like you... its not about me or Paul... what I said refers to people who use their fame to pretend they their art is great when its not.... like I said I like his music but I wont Lie to him: HIS VISUAL ART SUCKS!
I met Paul at the Schaumburg Wentworth event on 8/23-24. On my way there I had no intention on purchasing a painting, I just wanted to see him in an enviroment other than on the big stage. Once I arrived I was amazed to see him not only in person but he was just walking amongst the people there at the gallery. I also noticed how even though he would give people short glances and acknowledgemens, it was only the people who purchased a painting who got any personal time with him.
As I noticed this I went around looking at his paintings, which to me looked like 'paintings'. I really don't know anything about art, BUT one thing I did know was these paintings were created by someone for whom I've admired for many years as a musician. I looked around until I found one that I was drawn to, and it was entitled 'Independence'. I purchased it and then waited for my time to meet Paul and be able to spend a little time with him beyond the roped off area.
I ended up being the last person to see him due to a purchase of a painting. As I stepped beyond the ropes it was surreal. He looked great and he tried to make some small talk with me like where I lived, what I did for a living, etc. I understood that, and I countered him in congratulating him on his soon to be new addition to his family, a new girl (his only girl). I asked him how he was gonna deal with a daughter. He told me a few things, and over that topic there was some chuckles.
I asked him about his paintings, KISS, and a few other things. We spoke about 10-15 minutes, but before I knew it Paul said, 'lets take a picture', and he picked up the painting, and the photographer snapped 3-4 pictures. We shook hands, I walked away, and within minutes, he and some police walked out, and it was like a vacuum because everyone in the gallery walked out as well, leaving me there. Right before Paul walked out he turned around because someone had gotten his attention.
I was still standing there and he saw me. As he walked away he said, 'Bye Steve (my name), thanks, and take care!'. That was so cool. Paul was going to be there the next evening and I decided I was going to go see him once more before he left. I got there in the last thirty minutes purposefully. As I arrived I walked up toward where he would spend time with people who purchased something. As I stood there, he noticed me and said, 'Hey...the welder! How are you?' (that's what I do for a living).
He remembered from the night before when we had talked. I waited until once again I was the last person, and here was all these people who had not purchased anyting who were standing behind the ropes and all they could do was look. As Paul finished with the last person the mananger of the gallery, who recognized me from the night before, guided me into the area where Paul was. I walked up to Paul and stuck out my hand.
I began stumbling over my words, but ended up telling him all I wanted to was say Thanks for everything through all these years! We spoke a little more about some other things, I gave him a business card of mine, and shortly after I was done, he walked out with his police escort.
My summary is this. Would I have purchased a painting if it had not been created by Paul Stanley? No. Would I have purcahsed one of Pauls paintings if he had not been there? No.
BUT, would I have considered purchasing a painting created by Paul Stanley, knowing I would be able to meet him and speak with him privately one one one for 10-15 minutes, be able to have pictures taken of him and I together, be able to get a signed autograph, and have a memory that will last a lifetime? Definitely, and obviously I did. To me, it was money well spent, and the overall experience was AWESOME! I have something of his, pictures, autograph, and memory I can take home with me!!
i just met him Saturday July 26th and uit was awesome i bought Mona Lisa and i got to meet him Friday and and Saturday. It worked out well because i was invited to the Wmmr station to sit in on the interview but he canceled so we got to the gallery and they told me i could meet him both days got in line took a pic Friday and we were on our way Saturday got in line met him talked to him for 15 mins got pics, autographs and it was awesome. Hes under contract to not sign anything with out buying 1
I thought what he said was fair. He didn't seem arrogant at all. I love Paul Stanley. He was my first idol and after all these years, I still have a bit of hero worship at 44 years old. Like him or hate him, the guy is a living legend.
The policy makes sense when you have 1,000 people lined up all the way down the length of the mall like has happened in the past but it was comical when he was here in Maryland last year and only about 50 people showed up, he would just go to the back room of the gallery and he HAD to have been bored out of mind haha My friend and I anticipated him going out the back door though and got 2 quick photos outside before he slipped into his waiting Town Car so I have to give him credit for that.
I am going to meet Paul in St. Louis at the Wentworth Gallery there on August 2nd. He is going ot be there on the 1st and 2nd. I bought on of his paintings. I am so pumped. His art is pretty good.
what pathetic assholes bugging Paul Stanley and what a bunch of cry babies posting here. You expect him to kiss your ass cause you bought a few albums 20 years ago? Get real
Who the fuck are you prick, his goddamn LAWYER??!! A civilized person would at least expect him to treat his fans a little nicer and with more respect.
no fuck that..you expect too much. maybe you need to pull your nose out of his ass and give him want he wants for once, which is to be respected not bow to your every whim...get a life loser
I'm not sure if Paul is joking when he says "I have no time to talk to you...", but if he isn't, SHAME ON HIM! Your fans have loved and supported your ass for DECADES, having spent much money and their time 'worshipping you' in one way or another. As a huge, longtime KISS fan (i'm in my 40's), it is beyond dissapointing to see Paul Stanley acting like this to HIS FANS!!!
"Hey I don't have time to talk to you, but if you have 15 grand then I'll give you 2 minutes of my time."
Fuck you, Paul Stanley
Live to Win blows ass anyway.. the best coverage that song even got was when it was on South Park while Cartman was shitting all over his mother while he wsa playing Warcraft.
I'm still a KISS fan though.. I just hope Peter and Ace aren't cocksuckers like Gene and Paul. I bet Ace would smoke a J with you anyday.
I was a Paul Stanley fan until I went to Charlotte tonight to the Wentworth art gallery. There were UNDER 100 people who showed up to the entire event, and he couldn't be bothered to even shake more than 2 or 3 hands unless you dropped 15 grand or so on his paintings.
I am pretty sure he can officially be classified as a jew bastard. I mean COME ON.. his paintings ARE good, yes, but aren't worth NEAR that much.. NOT TO MENTION the fact that most KISS fans have spent a ton over the years.
I've been on & off of here for a couple years. But thanks for checking on me. What's a pathetic old man like you doing on here anyway? Is 67 your age or IQ?
Why you so mad at me? It's alright if your're a tea bagger. Your GAYDAR is set too high. Chill the fuck out. btw, you don't know shit about 70s live albums. They're all overdubbed to death.
So typical of some hc fans to get insulted when they don't get the attention they want. Just goes to show they actually don't appreciate the artist but just want to feed emotionally, regardless of the situation.
I don't deny that you are correct. This year's "speech" is pleasant. I am telling you, last year at the gallery he was obnoxiously rude. People were complaining and many walked out. He turned us off. What I see on this segment is a presentation that shows class. He was a true conceited and arrogant jerk at the Short Hills, NJ exhibit March 2007
Paul seemed really good about the whole thing, he's right it is an art gallery and the people should respect that. KISS and Paul are always up to something so the rock fans get plenty of chances to see him in situations are more appropriate for better interaction.
I feel sorry for Paul who is having so mush patience explaining to people that an art galleri is not a rockshow. The fans should respect that and respect him for the artist he is.
I saw this asshole a year ago at the Short HIlls Mall - he cleaned up his speech. He was totally rude and obnoxious to every group "This is not a guitar store, this is not a music store, THIS IS AN ART GALLERY & I'm here to sell art so unless you purchase something, you don't get to talk to me".
That's NOT A WIG! It's a weave! Weave Phyllis alone. He's out shillin' for guitars and paint-by-numbers because he needs the money...or MORE money. Maybe Gene told him to!
Good one !!! His music is decent. The art is selling b/c of his fans. he has had plastic surgery - just look at the videos from the early days. That weave/wig is not cutting it as looking authentic. Sorry but he is what - 55 ? I thought he looked awesome on the video from Phantom of the Opera. Receeding hairline and his face was visible. Now he looks like an older rock star trying too hard
There was an article in Gene Simmons Tongue where Gene interviewed Peter Criss after Pete quit KISS the last time. They were joking about calling Paul "Phyllis" behind his back almost since the beginning because of Paul's love of shopping, frilly clothes, mincing style and his love of many things women generally enjoy. It was a GREAT article. I forget the nicknames they had for Gene and Ace, but the Phyllis thing REALLY stuck. Find it and check it out sometime!
I understand people not liking his art, criticism comes with the territory. So what if people don't like them, he's doing what he likes. LIke his music. IF you read up on his history, he said he was really into art before getting into music. Obviously he pursued music, but now that he's living the rock star dream, I'm glad to see him going back to what he used to enjoy all the time.
Paul also came out at the gallery in Chicago to talk to the fans. Of course there were so many fans waiting. I was lucky to be in the gallery when he came out. Said about the same thing but with no interuptions from fans
He was cool about the whole thing, he didnt realy need to come out at all
Dont kid yourself there were enough fans that bought art ,not everyone is poor
"I wanna give ya all nothing" Nice guy.Must be delusional considering he went on 104.3 radion in NY the same morning inviting his fans to come to the gallery, only to pointedly insult them face to face.He has said in previous interviews that painting was his much needed outlet after his first marriage failure, that he can only punch the walls so much. How does that make new wife feel-still ego grappling that he was dumped-with no mention of his new family? His ego doesn't care who gets hurt, hmm?
I think we ought to give him back the same thing NOTHING. He's a good musician, a good singer and the biggest asshole on the face of the planet. Humble-no, Grateful-no, Artistic-HELL NO. One day it will come around and bite him on the ass the way he treats people, Ya know the same people that gave him his life of "Freedom". "Live to Win" No, Live to Give Asshole.
if u were there like me you would realize that he is a way better artist than you'll ever be.
and they were playing kiss music because..it's PAUL STANLEY!! ya know the lead singer of kiss so, it would make sense to play that. plus, they did play some paul stanley music.
The *best* thing would be one last, huge, free KISS show with all the living members, past and present. Of Course, Simmons won't go for it because it'd do nothing for his bank account, but if we talked Paul into it...?
I was there on Saturday. Not gonna lie, it was kinda a wast to wait on line for 45 minutes to listen to a pre-written speech. But still, he shook my hand, so that was cool

what pathetic assholes bugging Paul Stanley and what a bunch of cry babies posting here. You expect him to kiss your ass cause you bought a few albums 20 years ago? Get real
SirenoJuan 3 years ago
Who the fuck are you prick, his goddamn LAWYER??!! A civilized person would at least expect him to treat his fans a little nicer and with more respect.
sophiegromit 3 years ago
no fuck that..you expect too much. maybe you need to pull your nose out of his ass and give him want he wants for once, which is to be respected not bow to your every whim...get a life loser
SirenoJuan 3 years ago
get over it fanboy , it's a fucking art gallery not a Kiss convention
SirenoJuan 3 years ago 3
lol i see ur point but chill a little
hardcore4318 2 years ago
It's a Wentworth Gallery rule.
You gotta buy a painting to spend time with the artist.
It's the same rule for every artist that is featured in the Wentworth Galleries, not just for Paul. Understand now?
Felidaise 3 years ago
I'm not sure if Paul is joking when he says "I have no time to talk to you...", but if he isn't, SHAME ON HIM! Your fans have loved and supported your ass for DECADES, having spent much money and their time 'worshipping you' in one way or another. As a huge, longtime KISS fan (i'm in my 40's), it is beyond dissapointing to see Paul Stanley acting like this to HIS FANS!!!
sophiegromit 3 years ago
i dont think he was a prick at all if i wanted to meet him id rather do it this way than buy the kiss platnium package
hardcore4318 2 years ago
"Hey I don't have time to talk to you, but if you have 15 grand then I'll give you 2 minutes of my time."
Fuck you, Paul Stanley
Live to Win blows ass anyway.. the best coverage that song even got was when it was on South Park while Cartman was shitting all over his mother while he wsa playing Warcraft.
I'm still a KISS fan though.. I just hope Peter and Ace aren't cocksuckers like Gene and Paul. I bet Ace would smoke a J with you anyday.
fargo026 3 years ago
dude ace is not the coolest guy when it comes to meeting fans peter is very nice though
hardcore4318 2 years ago
Actually, 'LIVE TO WIN' is excellent rock!!! The title track rocks seriously!!!
sophiegromit 2 years ago
I was a Paul Stanley fan until I went to Charlotte tonight to the Wentworth art gallery. There were UNDER 100 people who showed up to the entire event, and he couldn't be bothered to even shake more than 2 or 3 hands unless you dropped 15 grand or so on his paintings.
I am pretty sure he can officially be classified as a jew bastard. I mean COME ON.. his paintings ARE good, yes, but aren't worth NEAR that much.. NOT TO MENTION the fact that most KISS fans have spent a ton over the years.
fargo026 3 years ago
oyeah, maybe both...
But tell me what does your name stand for?
Is it what you're heard your whole highschool period of time?
hahaha

Why you so mad at me? It's alright if your're a tea bagger. Your GAYDAR is set too high. Chill the fuck out. btw, you don't know shit about 70s live albums. They're all overdubbed to death.
listenbich 3 years ago
By the way Spikeyboy.....
You make up your own truth....
And still.... You like to talk about sexuality between MEN....
Cause you left quite some evidence with your postings on youtube....
Ain't that the truth.... Ain't that the truth....

Got news for you, Paul is a pickle pusher. He may hit on you someday.

Spike, welcome to the real world... KISS' live albums are as real as any 70's rockbands live album....

Real fake. Compare the videos of those tours if you don't believe me.

"Unless you're buying something...then I get to spend time with you."
Well, there you have it folks.
opdage 3 years ago
@spike14501,
There must be a big "board" in front of your head!
Like I said before, it's so obvious you are a homosexual...
It is the only thing you're interrested talking about....
Every post you are talking about it, on every post, you use the word " GAY"!
And you know what, people are talking about it on the internet too......
"ooohhh, you mean that spikehomophobguy, the guy who is obsessed about homosexuality"
Come out....
Don't worry, it is 2008, people understand nowadays!
Tonyr67 3 years ago
Tony,
Back at ya! Everything you wrote is about you. Don't like the truth. Don't blame me.
spike14501 3 years ago
The Gay Jew speaketh. Unless you shell out money, no autograph.
spike14501 3 years ago
So typical of some hc fans to get insulted when they don't get the attention they want. Just goes to show they actually don't appreciate the artist but just want to feed emotionally, regardless of the situation.
Spankki 3 years ago
Well JazzinJersey,
It is very naturally to get rude if people don't understand what you've got to say.
Tonyr67 3 years ago
I don't deny that you are correct. This year's "speech" is pleasant. I am telling you, last year at the gallery he was obnoxiously rude. People were complaining and many walked out. He turned us off. What I see on this segment is a presentation that shows class. He was a true conceited and arrogant jerk at the Short Hills, NJ exhibit March 2007
JazzinJersey 3 years ago
Paul seemed really good about the whole thing, he's right it is an art gallery and the people should respect that. KISS and Paul are always up to something so the rock fans get plenty of chances to see him in situations are more appropriate for better interaction.
rBrett007 4 years ago
I feel sorry for Paul who is having so mush patience explaining to people that an art galleri is not a rockshow. The fans should respect that and respect him for the artist he is.
wasteace666 4 years ago 2
I saw this asshole a year ago at the Short HIlls Mall - he cleaned up his speech. He was totally rude and obnoxious to every group "This is not a guitar store, this is not a music store, THIS IS AN ART GALLERY & I'm here to sell art so unless you purchase something, you don't get to talk to me".
hE'S AN Old man with a Wig -
JazzinJersey 4 years ago
That's NOT A WIG! It's a weave! Weave Phyllis alone. He's out shillin' for guitars and paint-by-numbers because he needs the money...or MORE money. Maybe Gene told him to!
captainarchernx01 3 years ago
Good one !!! His music is decent. The art is selling b/c of his fans. he has had plastic surgery - just look at the videos from the early days. That weave/wig is not cutting it as looking authentic. Sorry but he is what - 55 ? I thought he looked awesome on the video from Phantom of the Opera. Receeding hairline and his face was visible. Now he looks like an older rock star trying too hard
JazzinJersey 3 years ago
I miss when I didn't know so much about the Clown Four.
captainarchernx01 3 years ago
what's the difference between a wig & a weave? they're both fake. like the kiss alive albums.
spike14501 3 years ago
What's the deal with calling Paul "Phyllis"? (Enlighten me, I'm seriously clueless) :S
ToruKun1 2 years ago
There was an article in Gene Simmons Tongue where Gene interviewed Peter Criss after Pete quit KISS the last time. They were joking about calling Paul "Phyllis" behind his back almost since the beginning because of Paul's love of shopping, frilly clothes, mincing style and his love of many things women generally enjoy. It was a GREAT article. I forget the nicknames they had for Gene and Ace, but the Phyllis thing REALLY stuck. Find it and check it out sometime!
captainarchernx01 2 years ago
Wow, that sounds awesome and hilarious! XD Oh Paul...you and your fagged-out ways...honestly, I find it cute! LMAO! XD
ToruKun1 2 years ago
I understand people not liking his art, criticism comes with the territory. So what if people don't like them, he's doing what he likes. LIke his music. IF you read up on his history, he said he was really into art before getting into music. Obviously he pursued music, but now that he's living the rock star dream, I'm glad to see him going back to what he used to enjoy all the time.
kcdisney 4 years ago 4
how much did his paintings cost?
bayondai 4 years ago
the cheapest "PRINT" - NOT THE REAL THING.. lol.. was $1550 for a 16x20. The acutal paintings were anywhere from $5k - $15k.
dkstar222 4 years ago
Do you consider the things he said to be insulting or hurtful ?
newyorkkissfan 4 years ago
Paul also came out at the gallery in Chicago to talk to the fans. Of course there were so many fans waiting. I was lucky to be in the gallery when he came out. Said about the same thing but with no interuptions from fans
He was cool about the whole thing, he didnt realy need to come out at all
Dont kid yourself there were enough fans that bought art ,not everyone is poor
bluestraps 4 years ago 3
Is that post from Paul Stanley himself ? eh heh !
bramee0 4 years ago 2
I don't know why you guys are getting mad at him.
He's there selling paintings. He's not there to sign KISS memoralbilia. He has said it numerous times in interviews.
It's also a Wentworth Gallery rule. People have to buy a painting if they want an autograph. Now stop whining and grow up you guys.
nekoluva 4 years ago
"I wanna give ya all nothing" Nice guy.Must be delusional considering he went on 104.3 radion in NY the same morning inviting his fans to come to the gallery, only to pointedly insult them face to face.He has said in previous interviews that painting was his much needed outlet after his first marriage failure, that he can only punch the walls so much. How does that make new wife feel-still ego grappling that he was dumped-with no mention of his new family? His ego doesn't care who gets hurt, hmm?
newyorkkissfan 4 years ago
I think we ought to give him back the same thing NOTHING. He's a good musician, a good singer and the biggest asshole on the face of the planet. Humble-no, Grateful-no, Artistic-HELL NO. One day it will come around and bite him on the ass the way he treats people, Ya know the same people that gave him his life of "Freedom". "Live to Win" No, Live to Give Asshole.
baldrick777 4 years ago
i was right there when he said all that
if u wanna know what i looked like, i was wearing an orange sweat shirt, balck hair, and 12 yrs old
linkin70 4 years ago
If he's making the separation between Paul the rock star and Paul the artist (lmao), why the fuck is KISS music playing in the background?
Seriously - do you believe anyone that has bought these shitty paintings of shapes that a 2 year old could draw haven't been KISS fans?
weeneeyman 4 years ago
if u were there like me you would realize that he is a way better artist than you'll ever be.
and they were playing kiss music because..it's PAUL STANLEY!! ya know the lead singer of kiss so, it would make sense to play that. plus, they did play some paul stanley music.
linkin70 4 years ago 2
The *best* thing would be one last, huge, free KISS show with all the living members, past and present. Of Course, Simmons won't go for it because it'd do nothing for his bank account, but if we talked Paul into it...?

I was there on Saturday. Not gonna lie, it was kinda a wast to wait on line for 45 minutes to listen to a pre-written speech. But still, he shook my hand, so that was cool
