Just a little note for your information, you really shouldn't skip meals to get your glucose down. Try letting ezCarb help you figure how much to take (make sure your ISF is right, mine was too low and it always overcorrected, I think that's fixed now though!) I just thought I give you a little tip, great video, though! The Ping is a great pump I've had it for about 7 months now and I love it.
I'm so excited to be getting my first pump in a few months! I'm going to ask for the One Touch Ping because its features are so awesome. Thanks for putting this video up!
Aw man u didn't take blood tests? I did that has survived 3 diabetic ketosis comas and I am getting that pump soon enough so I seems unfair for those who are taking care of themselves. Im not dissing you or nothing but in my case it just sound so unfair to people who deserve it. (Not sayin u dont deserve it) Keep on at it though!
I'm considering this pump. It's between Animas ping, Omnipod, or the Medtronic. I'm glad that you finally came to your senses and started testing. I can't wait to go check out your diabetic mental aspect video.
Hey there! I'm so glad I found you on here. I have been a diabetic for seven years now. I have had no luck at all controlling it. I found out today that I was approved for an insulin pump. I'm happy, but oh so scared.
@furriefurther You really don't have anything to be scared about. If you go with the Animas pump (OneTouch Ping), they have 24/7 technical support and they're really nice!
Hi suzan, I changed my account from computernerd2085 to diabetesgirl3145. The reason for this is that you inspired me to create my own diabetes vlog and I wanted to have a more apropriate account name.
Thank you so much for answering my questions. most other people just ignor comments. Thanks, you are a great contributer to the online diabetes community.
Before you started to take controll of your diabetes, you must of felt crapy all the time. Did you ever do anything about it during that 4 year piriod?
P.S.
If you like to hide your pump descreatly and not have to touch it when you bolous, you should try the omnipod. It takes it one step farther than the ping because it has no tubing. Take it into consideration for your next pump.
I usually did feel pretty low energy but it is scary how easy your body gets use to being high all the time. After awhile you aren't even it anymore. I had more subtle signs that I understand are common for t2 diabetics who do not have good control. I was more prone to getting sick and getting infections. I took forever to heal from even a small cut.
I tried the omnipod sample 3 times. It is too big and bulky, I kept knocking it off! I am waitng for a small design to try it again.
If you did not take good care of your diabetes, your blood sugars must have been really high. When a person is high for too long, they can loose a ton of weight. How did you loose weight when you were in controll? Before I was diognosed I lost 20 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks and when I was treated I gained it all back. I was just wondering how you lost weight when you were in controll.
I lost the weight when I started testing and doing portion control. The key for me was being careful about what I ate and measuring EVERYTHING I ate. I also didn't eat any fast food anymore which I know helped. I wasn't carb counting at the time so I had to eat the same amounts of food everyday at each meal. So my calorie count was always under 1500 calories a day. I never lost any weight from running too high, I should have for how terrible I was blood sugar wise.
GREAT VIDEO!!!! Your a natural! Great information from an even better source. Thanks for sharing your story and trying to help others out there. Thanks for the shout out! I would love to see you PING in that carb and glucose info, to see how it works. I think your next video is a great idea, I've had my diabetic battles and have a hard time trying to get it to words what goes on upstairs. Good Luck! I rated, I subscribed and will share your videos as best I can!
