I got the recent reissue of "Still Squeaky After All These Years". That edition doesn't have "Alvin for President" but the accompanying booklet has Ross Basgardian Jr. stating when his dad (the original Dave Seville) released that single in 1960 when JFK ran for president against Nixon, Kennedy sent Basgardian a note saying, "It's nice to know I have one worthy opponent."

I first heard this single on the Dr. Demento show ages ago, I wonder if it was ever featured on The Alvin Show.
