To peanutbutterblah: You are right, I forgot about that. I remember Borders was selling the basic Kobo for that price. That's another good ereader. Thanks for the correction.
I have this ebook and am very happy with it. Easy to use, great features, compact, and inexpensive - under $80 at many websites. Battery life is decent (more than 9 hours), and you can buy books from Kobo, Google, Sony, Books-A-Million and others. Lowest cost ereader on the internet. This reader looks (and has most of the same menus) as the Ectaco Jetbook, but uses a different DRM source (Kobo vs B&N) and costs much less.

@peanutbutterblah The prices have come *way* down since this review went up; I just got a Libre Pro (now sold without the 2 GB memory card, but still with the 100 free e-books, leaving almost no room in the internal storage) for $60 with free shipping from Newegg (an 8 GB SDHC was another $9 plus a couple bucks shippping, and will hold a couple thousand PDF formatted books). The display is very nice, it's easy to use, and battery life seems excellent so far.
@peanutbutterblah Two hours of solid reading didn't even make a dent in the battery life display, and recharged to 100% again in under an hour (connected to computer, which is supposed to take 7 hours from dead to full) -- based on that, it looks likely to come close to the advertised 24 hours live use battery life, which is about two weeks for the way I'll use it. Big step up from reading on my phone.
i like the info. do you have any shortcut sheets on using the aluratek and how do you create a folder? thank you.
