Couls be aneroid valve on the governor, and I didn't hear that turbo singing either. Not enough air to burn all that fuel. I've seen siezed turbo's before.

@Prestologs Yep. On most, the turbos backpressure the oil, and if you dont have the boost of the turbo, it will blow through your oil.

shit me an some freind found a d8h found by the mississippi ... when we got to it the track were like it sunk in the mud for sitting there for a long time ...so we call the cops they said it ours  it scarp metal or something shit we got some fuel batt an fire that bad boy up got a few friends an took that butch home ... free dozer lol..... still got that dam dang still runs .. up for sell to an i got a title to it lol ....

@aligoraro That black smoke doesn't need 25 years of experience to tell that you are absolutely right. Black smoke tells that air intake is blocked or insufficient in other way. Turbo seems to help aspiration a bit...

if it was an injector spitting it would smoke at an idle also, and it would be little puffs of black smoke not steady

I've never seen 6 injectors go bad at once
