It could have just been omitted altogether. Despite thinking that no R18+ rating is BS, there are limits to what you could do. This is all bullshit. It has been proven that video games DO NOT provoke violence in a person. A violent person can still play these games though, BUT they were already violent to begin with, these games did not cause the person to become violent. Even if the R18+ classification is never introduced to Australia for video games, people are just going to import the games from other countries or buy them from Ebay. @wereG4 Not legally. If a police officer happened to find a store selling banned or unrated content they could be shut or heavily fined. And we don't really have Gamestop here, it's EB Games, Gametraders and GAME mostly.

In regards to the mental state of a person after watching a movie as compared to playing a game, obviously there will be more of a reaction when playing the game. If you are watching a scene play out you are mentally drawn in to the fact you are about to be chucked into that environment where you might have to defend yourself etc. Watching a movie you just sit there and do nothing. The mental connection required is of a lesser level.

Shooting an innocent civilian in GTA is hilarious.
Taking the life of a real person on the street or where ever is not.
Getting a headshot in an FPS is satisfying.
Getting a headshot IRL is messy and very fucking wrong.
Everybody is taught right and wrong from a very early age and its reinforced over the years to adulthood and beyond too.
My dad is over 55 and absolutely loves games. Most of the gamers I know are 20+ I'm 23 I want to play whatever the fuck I like.

I think the no russian mission was really unnecessary and in bad taste on the game developers part. but it wasn't censored, it should've been censored. the explicit naming of drugs used in fallout 3 was inappropriate. i'm ok with names they changed. those are the real issues. instead these assholes are stuck up on censoring stuff that just kills the game entirely. being a gamer in australia really really sucks. not only we pay far more than US, but we get dumbed down content that's total shit.

The No Russian level isnt that violent at all the game itself asks u if u want to play it or not. The kids are gonna be violent on how they were raised not what they see or play. If u ask me Violent games are a great way to get rid of unwanted aggression. Its better to kill virtual zombies/people which wont harm a soul then to kill or hit someone in real life.
