@softballmogie34@egale180 obviously watched the second half of the video but didn't watch the first half, otherwise he would have not gotten it so badly wrong.
Then again, the fact that it's taken him well over a year to respond indicates that he is still learning to count over 800.
@softballmogie34 "Get it straigt". Not impressed with a 807.1hp with a 1.25 cf on a dynojet at sea level. I put down 671.8hp with a 1.15cf at 5000ft on a dynodynamics dyno. So doing a little bit of math would put me at well over 900hp at 1.25cf at sea level. Yet. GO EVO!!
@softballmogie34 Hmmm..... 807.1awhp at sea level on a dynojet with a 1.25cf. Not impressed. I put down 671.8awhp with a 1.15cf at 5000ft on a dynodynamics dyno. Little bit of math and you have over 900hp on a dynojet with a 1.25cf at sea level. Yet? GO EVO!!
honestly I rather get something else like a stock evo atleast its more stable. 800 or close to 800 in this video is pointless on the street maybe the track.
Those are no stable 800HP, the power curve looks terrible as like some misreading of the ignition wire or something else happened... watch all those peakes!!
yeah...but i live in california where we have all these gay ass laws regarding smog and shit soo you dont really see all the high hp cars driving around on streets
the point in car tuning is you spend 3 times the car is worth but u will nether get you money back but its the thought that you built it and done it yourself you pay for
and what is that graph. if its the powerband then that really needs to be smoothened out. i got 726hp but the graph looked like a mountain pass you know. the igniton wasn't holding up so ems was kicking the fuel off to. im down to 619 until my sparktech comes in
how did you guys do that wwith wat sounds like a low psi diverter valve. im not trying to rag, nice runs just even under the aem i coudnt hold over 30 psi on an oe replacement
My mistake. Had a hard time seeing that portion due to blurriness. Yes, over 800WHP is correct. That gentlemen stating 779.6HP should have payed closer attention to the vid at 2:36
I see. I'm only trying to understand the tuning process. Many assume the first reading spewed out is final and precise. I certainly understand that there is more to it -- Trial and error, right? Getting everything in sync.
Good work. If i only lived near Lauderhill, Fl i probably would come by your shop to check things out. I live in Northern VA, so as you can see its pretty far. Around 16 hours away. Even if i had an Si(Which i have been checking out) I don't know how i would be able to take a trip down there for your services.
Might consider having the kit shipped, though I'm not too experienced with auto-work.
Although, I'm also very into STI's. However, I would take your Tuned Si over a stock STI anyday.
However due to money, I'm considering purchasing an STI rather than purchasing an Si and the AJP kit, Install, and tune. Yes i know, your cars would smoke me, though I'm not a racer, I don't go to the track, race on public streets or ever have the intention to show off. If i want power and looks it would be mainly for my own amusement and pleasure.
Check out YouTube user USNClaros, who has a 2007 Honda Civic Si Sedan with our turbo kit and *wild* paint job. He lives in Northern VA and would be happy to give you a ride.
I have, and he paid over 8k for everything, excluding the actual cars price. A used Si runs from around 16000 to 22000 with good miles, plus the 8k for AJP turbo, Install and tune -- Thats 26000 to 30000 for the si. There are however used STI's for from 21000 to 32000(less miles and the newer 08 model).
So like you said, i guess i have to test drive both and see which one suites me the best. Thanks for your feedback, and if i do decide to land on the Si, I'll be sure to save up for you kit.
You have a different perspective whereby you have some criteria by which you choose your car. Most of our customers buy the Si first and then decide to boost it.
Yes of course, no argument there. That is why i chose to go with an STI. If i decide to boost that, i can do so.
STI's have such great potential(which you probably are already aware of), easily hitting with no effort 500WHP and going over 1000WHP after extensive upgrading, rebuilding and tuning.
i was wondering how you dyno a car. are you supposed to shift at every 3-4rpms until you get to the highest gear then you punch it? is that how it works?
Thanks. If you look carefully, you'll see that the wheel balance weights are gone after the first run because one came flying off and hit a mechanic. So all of the weights were removed as a precaution.

779.6hp no 800hp
DK351T0 3 years ago
When you give your age, do you specify years and days (let alone hours, minutes and seconds), or do you round *down* to just years?
ajperformancecom 3 years ago
According to you then it should state 780WHP and not 800WHP or 779.6WHP in the description box, correct?
Please take no offense, only trying to make sense of what you, he^ and what the dyno say.
ICofT 3 years ago
According to the 2min 36sec mark I should be saying 807 whp. Does that make more sense?
ajperformancecom 3 years ago
My mistake. Had a hard time seeing that portion due to blurriness. Yes, over 800WHP is correct. That gentlemen stating 779.6HP should have payed closer attention to the vid at 2:36
Good tuning.
ICofT 3 years ago
Why did it drop to 780WHP? After several runs do you just choose the highest output you got?
ICofT 3 years ago
Quite often, tuners like to iron out little wrinkles in the Air/Fuel Ratio curve or they see a hiccup somewhere they want to remove.
While we ordinary mortals concentrate on the biggest and fastest, tuners are paying attention to a lot more details than the untrained eye can see.
They don't care about the peak power so much as they care about a uniform power curve.
ajperformancecom 3 years ago
I see. I'm only trying to understand the tuning process. Many assume the first reading spewed out is final and precise. I certainly understand that there is more to it -- Trial and error, right? Getting everything in sync.
ICofT 3 years ago
Every tuning session is different. There are so many factors involved that tuners don't tell you about especially when you put a camcorder on them.
And explaining it would not be worth their time, so they just do their thing and keep their secrets to themselves.
ajperformancecom 3 years ago
Unfortunately, YouTube wasn't allowing high-quality video at the time this video was uploaded.
Videorecording computer screens is a difficult transition from videorecording people and objects in the real world.
The car has since gone way past 800 but that happened elsewhere.
