Bandana does the trick for me most of the time. That there was a ski mask with a hole for nose and mesh to reduce moisture. Tires were kenda 700 35c cross knobby. Great for snow.
what exactly are you wearing on your face? I've tried a scarf but it doesn't stay on that well. I've also tried a ski mask but both those things restrict my airflow too much and I end up pulling them down. any recommendations for winter commuting?
tbh, i had no clue that riding in the snow was THAT hard... i ride to school and back every winter for the past 6 years, and in 2-8 inch snow/slush, and i live in a fairly big city.. still i liked what i could see of your conversion.
Nah, Like I said before, I didnt find it that hard either, I didnt post this to WOW anybody. As stated earlier, its just for somebody to watch when they are sitting on their ass in front of a computer at work or something, wishing they were on a bike outside, You know how that is, right?
you know how hard it is to stay upright in this mess? I live in cleveland and i wont get out there in the ice like that cos the old people in my town have one foot in the grave and the other on the gas pedal..no sadly my fluid trianer is my winter film, great bike skills in that slush mess!~
Thats in Connecticut, Yeah, I love bikes. Unfortunatley that blue bike had a bent fork, so I gave the frame away to someone who though they could use it. Its ok though, that leaves room for one more future project
i've got the same cross bianchi as your friend. it's great for the shit you're riding on. i got taken out by some slick ice early winterbut i guess the only way to defend against that is by holding your line
you guys are nuts!, my road bike kills me when i ride it in the snow, i always fall at least every time i go out, but it is still fun to do, this mourning i fell on some black ice
Hey, thanks for the comment, Yeah riding in the snow is a pain, especially holding a camera, but If you notice I am riding cross tires just like my friend, the knobs on my fixie definately help, plus the absense of brakes smooth the ride and make me less likely to slide and fall. Once you get enough speed on those things it seems easy to keep it up.
I want see you make an emergency brake when suddenly car appeared in front of you.

When I lived in Michigan I used to ride my mtn bike through every winter. I like the adventure aspect of it.

The worst part of riding in the snow is that you can't get out of the way when a crazy motorist comes flying down the road sideways.
