omfg!!!! dude i used to play this when i was like 7 (i have an xbox now) i looooved this game xD . i was trying to remember the name for like 3 years thx dude! sadly this game was very hard lol in only got to the part where u had the blue spinning shield thing and i couldnt beat that big water guy... still very fun tho

@euricdinkins if you don't know this came out way before GOW. And this was the shit...I remember being in Jr high playing this game(2002). GOW I love but it basically took a huge bite out of this game. Its just that GOW is more gory.

you know, i saw this game at the local gamestop, and thought it was just another bad knockoff in the bargain bin. after watching this i am definantly going to pick up a copy. i love god of war so this game looks great!

I was curious about this game when it came out but now it looks like its charm might have faded. What made God of War so great was that inbetween all the fighting you had Metroid exploration and puzzle solving, as well as some epic set pieces (the flying sequences, for example). Does Rygar have enough variety? Judging by this video it looks a lot like the Castlevania PS2 games which were fun but got real old real fast. What do you think?

Yeah, if you like Rygar you'll most likely like GOW. Can't say 100% but for me, I always liked the Roman and Greek mythology so being able to play in that setting is cool. Probably why I liked Kid Icarus when I was younger too :D

Same here. Kid Icarus was one of my faves as a kid! I also grew up loving movies associated with Greek mythology.. Clash of the Titans, Sinbad, Jason & the Argonauts, etc.

I think this game is pretty solid.. maybe a bit on the repetitive side, and GOW of course trumps this, but in all fairness it was released 3 years after Rygar.

In a related note, check out the GOW3 demo (PS3) if you haven't already. It's a blast to play and looks really great. I can't wait for the full game. :)
