I keep clicking search and it is not finding anything during the parameters. I have the time correct, using newest version of RNG Reporter that has the built in I'v checker and i also used metal kids just to make sure. All the IV's it has found on a level 100 pokemon are all exact. Not sure what is going wrong here. If there is anyway you could help that would be great.

Hi! So, I've been trying this, I read many guides watched many videos and did every step described in those but when it comes to catching the pokemon, it never has the desired IVs. I load 1 second early like I should (that's what I got in the parameters) and always put the right date/time but the pokemon is wrong. I'm pretty sure I'm hitting the right time and now I keep getting the same pokemon, but it doesn't have the right IVs, The frame is 1 so I never do anything before catching.
bearsfan, when I'm breeding for perfects and my target frame lets say is 120, how do I find my initial frame (when abusing the PIDRNG)? No one can answer this question it seems... I understand that I start at 1, then I am giving 7 when I get my egg but what is my initial PID so I can start advancing frames?
Hey, so I tried following this video. I have a DSi, but I know it should work now. So I just set up a date, hour, and seconds...set the DS Type to DSi, and put in the MAC Address...but when I get the IVs from a calculator, I click the search button and nothing ever comes up...is there something I'm missing? I have a full party when I go to catch the pokemon...is that a problem? is there any pokemon I HAVE to have in my party? Thanks
@beeEyeG 1. Don't use Serebii for IV calculation if you are. 2. Remember that it's military time. 3. Sweet scent immediately upon loading. Usually one of those three fixes the problem
I'm currently stuck on the Calibration phase. I'm using a DSi, since Standard Abuse supports all DS hardware now. I'm trying to sync with my computer clock, but when I set the time for my DSi, it always seems to be off by a second or two. Any way I can fix this, like setting it a second or two before the next computer minute starts?

I got it to work on my original ds but my boyfriend was trying to catch me a Reshiram with good IVs (he only has a 3ds) so could I put his cartridge on my original ds to try to get a flawless reshiram and would that change anything? Also I watched both your tutorial vids for non-shiny and I keep getting one that's decent with very good sp def IVs but that's it. It's consistent but it's wrong. :( I'm totally lost and my head is starting to hurt.
Do you have to recalibrate on your second use of the RNG reporter 9.93 (after closing it)? Or can you put in the numbers and letters under "timer0, etc" into the parameters setup tab? (I've managed to RNG breed 2 pokemon with almost-flawless IV's and after a looong try, managed to get myself a shiny roselia with my SID)
@WarpenProductions Nah, you don't have to recalibrate. The values stay the same. Feel free to input them into the parameters setup tab again, but RNGreporter should save them automatically.

@PikminWarrior454 Every PID frame is associated with an encounter slot value. You line up that value with the encounter slot that has your desired species. RNGreporter has a link to the charts with the encounter slots for every route in a dropdown menu on the main screen.

@bearsfan092drums Just curious why you say not to use Serebii's IV calculator. Also, can you provide a good link for the most recent RNG Reporter DL, I think I may have downloaded the April Fool's version :O
@Serebii's IV Calculator is actually programmed incorrectly in that it can falsely rule out possible IV combinations. As far as a link is concerned, check smogon's wifi forum.

I just want to get a shiny, but this makes little sense to me. I do it fine with no problem in diamond but when i try to get a tutorial to do it in Black I don't understand what they are saying.
@Grimmly77 The best thing I can advise is watch the video in its entirety once or twice, then work alongside it. The good news is you can pretty much skip all that nature crap in part 2, since OmegaDonut has since figured out a way to calculate the starting PID frame.

@pokabu719 Well, either find a way to level them up without adding EV's (perhaps the daycare, but that's slow), or else keep track of your EV's so you can still determine the IV's, which is all you really need.
Hi there - great guide, I'm just starting to get into RNGing and this is the best guide I have come across - its the only one where I haven't felt lost instantly! The problem I have is that after I have searched for the DS Parameters it shows the Actual Seconds field as 46 - obviously you only got 1, and most place I have searched say this is the general number, so am I doing something completely wrong or pressing something I shoukd?
I was attempting to RNG a ditto with the IV spread of 31/31/31/7/31/31 that is frame 1 and is encounter slot 6. I ended up with a solrock with the same spread even though it's encounter slot five. What did I do wrong?
@uxsee3 I'm guessing you either missed the PID frame (perhaps there was a NPC there. I can't remember if there is in the Giant Chasm) or you might have forgotten that the first listed slot in the charts is slot 0 and not slot 1.
@MrInfantrymen This version was a beta version given to me by OmegaDonut for making this video so it could be released alongside the first RNGreporter that supported Standard Abuse. 9.81 isn't all that different.
So I am trying to get a perfect Kyurem, I found that the lowest frame to get 31/31/31/31/31/31 is on frame 12, how many steps would I have to walk, and do I use repels to keep away wild pokemon when I hit my seed?
You might want to mention in the description how to find the DS MAC address. I would suggest Mario Kart DS, as it has an option to edit wi-fi settings (since there is no option on the DS original's menu.)

@kakashidragon2 PIDRNG starts out a certain frame based off your seed. It gets advanced by saving, NPC's, and Chatot chatters (among other things). You start off at your PID frame (which is separate from your IV frame), and advance up to your target.
@bearsfan092drums Actually, what version of RNG Reporter do you have, because my capture tab looks different to yours. Mine doesn't have an input box for Mac Address for starters. (Mine is RNG 9.81 BETA)
@Chomegiddo You have to clic the button "DS Parameter Search" if you want to calibrate and enter the Mac. The "5th Gen DS Parameters Setup" tab in Time Finder has an input box for Mac Address, also.
@phantomdm No, I mean, look at the picture at 7:57. My version of RNG Reporter 9.81 Beta looks like that EXCEPT WITHOUT anything pass the ID, SID, Abililty input boxes, the Shiny checkbox or the Roaming Pokemon checkbox. It doesn't have any of the input boxes pass that.
@bearsfan092drums Once you use a seed to catch a pokemon, can you use it again? I caught a random clefairy using a seed, and now I can't get the same spread. It comes up consistently with a different spread every time I try that same seed.
Other variables were:
Different pokemon in party
Different Route
Different starting location
By the way, my frame was supposed to be 1 for the seed, but all I did was walk (But it was not 128 steps) so I'm assuming I didn't advance any frames.
@Chomegiddo The 128 step counter actually saves when you save your file, so it's possible to be on step, say for example, 120, making that 128 step counter effectively an 8 step counter. Sweet scent for consistency.
@bearsfan092drums When does it reset? I mean, when you caught your terrakion, I'm assuming your step counter was at 0 when you loaded that game file because you walked 128 steps to advance the frame, but how did you know that your step counter was at 0 when you loaded your game at the target time
Say I load to my target time, walk 120 steps, save the game, reload to the target time, do I only need to walk 8 steps?
@Chomegiddo I didn't know what step I was on. Theoretically, I could have been screwed by chance, but you won't be often. That last situation you described in invalid 99 percent of the time. Don't do it.
Unfortunately, this doesn't help greatly with wild pokemon (non stationary ones). It also doesn't help that you can't use Sweet Scent in the Giant Chasm. I've been trying to RNG a flawless ditto, but i've not been able to encounter it yet. The encounter tables linked to in RNG reporter don't seem accurate; either that or the mist is messing up the RNG...
@kyogreblast It is possible to sweet scent in Giant Chasm. There's a trick to clearing out the weather that involves changing the month. With wild Pokemon, the process is pretty much the same except for the inclusion of encounter slots.

In 4th gen though, the encounter slot lists that RNG Reporter linked to didn't seem right, because when I checked the list against what I actually found in the wild it was always different, but in 5th gen at least the lists seem to be correct :) Thanks again
@bearsfan092drums It was just when I was RNGing a shiny regigigas, I was seeing golbat in the wild when I shouldn't have been (according to the encounter slot lists). But I suppose that doesn't really matter now, I mostly do RNG Breeding, so no need for encounter slot lists anymore :)

The first time I did it, I got one seed. But I was unsure if I released my hold on the A button a bit too late when I loaded the game, so I tried again. The next time, RNG reporter couldn't find a seed. What do I do?
@Geoff66XD On a given DS-game combo, they should be same. The timer0 might vary by 1 (example: c7b could fluctuate between c7a and c7c), but the others are pretty consistent.
I have one question, in the rng reporter, what does it mean when a nature is in grey font? In Emerald my first shiny frame is for a lax nature but a couple natures down is bashful but it is greyed out. I tried syncing for a bashful encounter but non of the shinies were bashful please help.

I just want to get a shiny, but this makes little sense to me. I do it fine with no problem in diamond but when i try to get a tutorial to do it in Black I don't understand what they are saying.

@Grimmly77 The best thing I can advise is watch the video in its entirety once or twice, then work alongside it. The good news is you can pretty much skip all that nature crap in part 2, since OmegaDonut has since figured out a way to calculate the starting PID frame.

I wonder what I'm doing wrong...... I'm a bit frustrated with this. I do everything exactly as the guides say and when I click search it doesn't find a thing.

-When you say "don't press any buttons", what does it mean? Can I press A when "Game Freak" appears? And when Zekrom appears?
-How about the C-Gear? Do I turn it on or what?

1. Don't press any buttons until at least the nintendo logo. You can press buttons after that.
2. No c gear. See title of video.
3. Make sure you are using a non Serebii IV checker and that you sweet scent immediately.

@pokabu719 Well, either find a way to level them up without adding EV's (perhaps the daycare, but that's slow), or else keep track of your EV's so you can still determine the IV's, which is all you really need.

Hi there - great guide, I'm just starting to get into RNGing and this is the best guide I have come across - its the only one where I haven't felt lost instantly! The problem I have is that after I have searched for the DS Parameters it shows the Actual Seconds field as 46 - obviously you only got 1, and most place I have searched say this is the general number, so am I doing something completely wrong or pressing something I shoukd?

And the calculated actual second is 20.
Does it mean I should enter the game at 12:00:30 or 11:59:50?

@ming12383 Neither. The 20 actually comes from the reading on your DS clock when it does load.

One quick scenario I can't figure out:
I was attempting to RNG a ditto with the IV spread of 31/31/31/7/31/31 that is frame 1 and is encounter slot 6. I ended up with a solrock with the same spread even though it's encounter slot five. What did I do wrong?

@uxsee3 I'm guessing you either missed the PID frame (perhaps there was a NPC there. I can't remember if there is in the Giant Chasm) or you might have forgotten that the first listed slot in the charts is slot 0 and not slot 1.

So I am trying to get a perfect Kyurem, I found that the lowest frame to get 31/31/31/31/31/31 is on frame 12, how many steps would I have to walk, and do I use repels to keep away wild pokemon when I hit my seed?

You might want to mention in the description how to find the DS MAC address. I would suggest Mario Kart DS, as it has an option to edit wi-fi settings (since there is no option on the DS original's menu.)

@kakashidragon2 PIDRNG starts out a certain frame based off your seed. It gets advanced by saving, NPC's, and Chatot chatters (among other things). You start off at your PID frame (which is separate from your IV frame), and advance up to your target.

@bearsfan092drums Actually, what version of RNG Reporter do you have, because my capture tab looks different to yours. Mine doesn't have an input box for Mac Address for starters. (Mine is RNG 9.81 BETA)

@Chomegiddo You have to clic the button "DS Parameter Search" if you want to calibrate and enter the Mac. The "5th Gen DS Parameters Setup" tab in Time Finder has an input box for Mac Address, also.

@phantomdm No, I mean, look at the picture at 7:57. My version of RNG Reporter 9.81 Beta looks like that EXCEPT WITHOUT anything pass the ID, SID, Abililty input boxes, the Shiny checkbox or the Roaming Pokemon checkbox. It doesn't have any of the input boxes pass that.

@bearsfan092drums Once you use a seed to catch a pokemon, can you use it again? I caught a random clefairy using a seed, and now I can't get the same spread. It comes up consistently with a different spread every time I try that same seed.
Other variables were:
Different pokemon in party
Different Route
Different starting location
By the way, my frame was supposed to be 1 for the seed, but all I did was walk (But it was not 128 steps) so I'm assuming I didn't advance any frames.

@Chomegiddo The 128 step counter actually saves when you save your file, so it's possible to be on step, say for example, 120, making that 128 step counter effectively an 8 step counter. Sweet scent for consistency.

@bearsfan092drums When does it reset? I mean, when you caught your terrakion, I'm assuming your step counter was at 0 when you loaded that game file because you walked 128 steps to advance the frame, but how did you know that your step counter was at 0 when you loaded your game at the target time
Say I load to my target time, walk 120 steps, save the game, reload to the target time, do I only need to walk 8 steps?

Unfortunately, this doesn't help greatly with wild pokemon (non stationary ones). It also doesn't help that you can't use Sweet Scent in the Giant Chasm. I've been trying to RNG a flawless ditto, but i've not been able to encounter it yet. The encounter tables linked to in RNG reporter don't seem accurate; either that or the mist is messing up the RNG...

@kyogreblast It is possible to sweet scent in Giant Chasm. There's a trick to clearing out the weather that involves changing the month. With wild Pokemon, the process is pretty much the same except for the inclusion of encounter slots.

In 4th gen though, the encounter slot lists that RNG Reporter linked to didn't seem right, because when I checked the list against what I actually found in the wild it was always different, but in 5th gen at least the lists seem to be correct :) Thanks again

@bearsfan092drums It was just when I was RNGing a shiny regigigas, I was seeing golbat in the wild when I shouldn't have been (according to the encounter slot lists). But I suppose that doesn't really matter now, I mostly do RNG Breeding, so no need for encounter slot lists anymore :)

@Geoff66XD On a given DS-game combo, they should be same. The timer0 might vary by 1 (example: c7b could fluctuate between c7a and c7c), but the others are pretty consistent.

I have one question, in the rng reporter, what does it mean when a nature is in grey font? In Emerald my first shiny frame is for a lax nature but a couple natures down is bashful but it is greyed out. I tried syncing for a bashful encounter but non of the shinies were bashful please help.
