Its about the right size if you need to hold it in one hand and write in the other. Not something I'd want to try with a 17".

If you don't always hold it in your hand, yea it is. But a lot of people that get these hold them all the time. For work, or anything.
Personally I agree with you, I would like it atleast a 14" or 15", because I wouldn't hold it all the time. But I do get what the other people are saying about it being a good size. If only it was as thin as Voodoo Envy. That is like an inch in height. lol
