People think the church is just the building where the believers go to worship God. but the true church of God are the believers who worship God. In the church building there are believers and Hypocrytes sitting together but they will be separated on Judgement day. Read the parables Jesus gave the parable of the sower, the wheat and the tares, the good fish and the bad fish, the foolish virgins etc. The true church of God will be with God when Jesus comes back to establish God's new kingdom

You don't have to be religious to be a hypocrite.

In fact, one is probably more hypocritical when they renounce such 'systems' yet live themselves in a system of their own foolish devising that ultimately has more holes, hypocrisy, and inconsistencies than that which they condemn.

I encourage everybody to read the book, "A Tale of Two Sons" so that you will get a more in depth understanding of how and why John adds what he does.

Seems like a dangerous thing to 'add' an ending to the prodigal son parable. Some people may misconstrue the idea as biblical truth based on historical tradition.

I completely agree that you shouldn't add to the bible, however if you listen to his actual sermons, you can see that he actually gets the ending from the bible itself and shows WHY it applies to that story as well. I encourage you to download the whole series from it from gty. org and I'm sure it will be a great blessing to you.

With all the money John Macarthur makes why doenst he pay for all the people that want to cruise with him on the alaskan cruise??? Christianity is just business!!! I used to listen to John's sermons faithfully until i realized and woke up. Why dont you?!

If the only reason you have for not believing the message of God because one church receives a lot of money, I suggest you re-evaluate your faith. If you did a quick search, you would see that his church releases all of their their financial statements. Also, what Dr. MacArthur makes with his book sales or other methods is not up for you to judge. You don't know what he does with that money. Maybe he already gives 95% of it to charity or back to the church.

He's written more than 150 books and works very hard at his church. He deserves whatever money he has. Do what he does and then complain.
