Christmas, for some people is a happy time, but for me it brings great sadness. I went to visit my mum in the Radclif Hospital on Christmas eve, and was told by the Dr she had a brain tumour, and would be dead within 12 weeks. I had to go back and help her to unwrap her presents and assure her all was well, its surprising where strength comes from when you need it. She loved Nat King Cole.. so, this is for you mum. xxx miss you.. not just today, but every day. xx

I am a lot quieter during this time of year but I now get a tree and decorate the house and make sure I shower my grown children with gifts and love.

@helmetsgirl1 I am so sorry for your loss. If I may share a story...my Mother passed on Christmas Day, 1992. This was her favorite carol, & was performed at her funeral mass. Certainly, in her absence, the holidays have taken on a different hue. But with the passing of time, the hurt has healed, & memories of her sustain my family & I. How can you in all honesty say that Gary Puckett's version of this song is better that Nat's version. No way. It is like comparing a masters version which is Nat, to Gary's, which is like a student's version. Gary Puckett's version is good but Nat's version is heavenly.

Agreed. I don't have too many Xmas albums for the same reasons you stated. I have had this Nat's Xmas album in vinyl format, and I made sure I got it when it became on CD. To me this is the best Xmas album period. I have a few others like Johnny Mathis', Barbara Streisand's, but I still think Nat's album is in a class by itself.
I don't care much about Xmas as I used to because of its commercialization, but I do look forward every year to listening to that album. It is such a joy!
This song for me takes me back to a much simpler time....Nat King Cole always gave me such a calm feeling when I would hear him. I would like to also at this time wish all the men and women of the United States Military a safe and joyous Christmas and New Year!

This is THE ONE. My favourite carol, and my favourite version of it. Everytime I hear the choir come in at 1:52 the hair on my arms tingles. Truly beautiful. A very Happy Christmas to everybody watching this video :-)

Agreed. I don't have too many Xmas albums for the same reasons you stated. I have had this Nat's Xmas album in vinyl format, and I made sure I got it when it became on CD. To me this is the best Xmas album period. I have a few others like Johnny Mathis', Barbara Streisand's, but I still think Nat's album is in a class by itself.
I don't care much about Xmas as I used to because of its commercialization, but I do look forward every year to listening to that album. It is such a joy!

This song for me takes me back to a much simpler time....Nat King Cole always gave me such a calm feeling when I would hear him. I would like to also at this time wish all the men and women of the United States Military a safe and joyous Christmas and New Year!

Nat may not have the power or range of Lanza (perhaps the very best male version of this song), but how I love this man's voice. Absolute God sent magic. One of my very favorite Christmas carols is Christmas Bells Are Ringing by Nat. It's here on youtube. Check it out.

Jesus is a nice idea, but here in reality, it is simply a roadblock to progress. This economy seems to be cracking people. Don't sit around waiting for an afterlife, stand up, demand jobs, good times, and prosperity. People will never give you more than you ask for.
