He seems interesting, I watched him on the blues awards 2010...it was definately different from others on there. I am not sure about his singing but he plays the harmonica with great passion.
jason ricci isn't one of the best harmonica players in the world, he is definitely one of the world's best musicians of all time. I soo many times feel disgusted about humanind's action, but this one is one of those that just makes me proud to be alive, jason you are my idol, my tear maker, thank you soo much -nemo2010
God so much feeling in his playing. I get chills listening to his harp and feel tears welling up in my eyes. Jason Ricci is one of THE greatest harmonica players of our time.
@HendrixIsGod47 amazing yes I agree. But that riff is actually a part of one of the most basic scales right there. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.
What amazes me more is not only Jason's technical knowledge and skill of the harmonica, but the amount of feeling he can just put into it while using such amazing skill and technique.
@HendrixIsGod47 I can play at that speed. Speed though isn't what it's about. Take that LD Miller kid for example, a couple of yrs ago when he wow'd everyone on America's Got Talent. He had speed down of course, but there was little feeling in his playing. You gotta have to soul to back it up as a harpist, especially a blues harpist. Don't get me wrong though, that kid has come a long way now.
@stuijn I highly doubt you can. LD sure as hell can't. The speed playing in this video, well that lick at least, is at a level that only.... Howard Levy can even touch. Yes, I know, soul is what matters... I've heard that 10000 times, and I agree, but Jason hates that speech more than anyone, because everyone in the blues community repeats it like a broken record.
Yvw. We're friends. I just wish I'd been able to go along for the cruise..looks like you all had a fabulous time getting to experience Jason & New Blood's Live shows up close and personal, especially in such a great setting. I'm enjoying the vids very much. Usually have to contend with too much noise/chatter where I'm videotaping Jason. These are terrific -what a great audience! The photos are so good too. Better than expected. It's a thrill to have them discovered/appreciated by you all :)

Hey Jason, that was freakin off the hook, those lyrics were tight as hell. Very powerful song...Luv it!!! The music sounds like St. James Infirmary.

Martin: You might want to correct Todd Edmunds' name - the Bass Player with New Blood. :)
