The real Fanny Brice wasn't much of a looker to be honest... but they make Nick out to be so amazingly beautiful and don't get me wrong Omar Sharrif is! But I've seen pictures of the real Nick Arnstein and he is very unattractive!
@AloraRPhotography the movie is an aspiration of Fanny Brice's life, she is a real person just as Nick Arnstein is as well. Not everything in this movie is complete fact but majority of the things in the movie did happen.
@xmsLCbabyx Yeh I saw it on tv,recorded it and watched it over an over an then ordered funny girl an funny lady! I still keep watching then both... Funny lady isn't really what I expected but it's still really good :-) the songs are brill an the story line is good too although she gets married to another man which I didn't like at first but as the story goes on it seams better that she married again although her timing is always off for her new relationship. Hope u get chance to see it :-)

Love the very last part of the clip/song where her voice goes soft and she gazes down as she sings "a husband, a house and a beautiful reflection of my love's affection"--I've always thought that was such a sweetly hopeful way to sing about pregnancy and the impending birth of a child. One of my favorite moments in the last of the great movie musicals of the classic era.
If you are 16 you have an incredible Streisand world to discover. She's the greatest female entertainer of our time. Period. Timeless, divine, and a genius. If you want proof, just check out her movies and her amazing recording legacy. Lots of stuff here on YouTube too of course. Have fun.

Have you seen "On a Clear Day"? OMG Babs was and is gorgeous! I grew up with her music in my house and been a fan since I was ten. Cant tell you how old I am now ;-) but its been YEARS!
This is a very good movie. I like how they went on with a sequal "something" lady. IT was an awesome movie and I loved it cause I had just gotten dumped by a guy named nick so this hit close to home.
Funny Lady, which I believe was released in 1976 or '77. One of my very favorite songs from that movie is Let's Hear it For Me!! Is it here on YouTube???? I sure hope so.
I'm going to sing this after my wedding. I love u Babs!
