@14wasp becouse we dont have the computing power to do that ? Do you know how many particles this kind of effects need and how complicated physics are needed to be calculated ?? :] You'll need to wait another 10 years or more to see them in realtime in any game .

Pc's are more inclined to use a simulation fighter's - than a missle launching in ya face entertainment. It happened to mech warrior, diablo 3 etc Money aint in the right place....
can someone answer this question for me please lol i have a nvidia geforce 280 gtx i am aware this is crap XD and i was wondering to get better graphics how does it work? i mean ive seen people with like 4 graphics cards all in a row in there computer and they are all the same does this increase the graphics and if not what is this for?
@oystein127 haha cheers for constructive criticism ok so im not good at computers but im eager to learn :) so call me dumb but hopefully i will learn how eventually :)
@ps3bof well buy a cheap pc case and some cheap parts and try to build an simpel pc thats the best way to learn about pcs there are tons of great tutorials out there
The problem is most game devs are not using the tech out today , except maybe Crytek , they make these games to play on 60 % percent of the PCs , with graphics that wont overload GPUs and CPUs , it's sad that they have to "dumb down" games both in gameplay and graphics , so people running antiques can play too.
Just another video to show that DX11 is all hype. How come we never see any real gameplay footage? Because nobody can tell the difference between DX9/10/11 except for the huge fps loss. Enjoy.
Just got my GTX 470 yesterday. And it is just amazing. You can watch the tech demos (like the Stone Giant) and they run better than anything I've seen.
But I just started Crysis again. I stopped playing it because it never ran very well, and I had to turn a lot of graphics down just to get it at an "acceptable" speed" (Acceptable was about 20-25 FPS)
Now it's running at 1600 x 1200 with EVERYTHING turned all the way up to max and a constant framerate of 35 FPS.
This obviously pre-rendered.. But, judging by the low quality of the textures and explosions+ shadows.. This is from ATi.
Physix is used in any CG movie, and is therefore MUCH better. Nvidia is better to handle pre-rendered movies. Check their DX11 480 physix demonstration, it's amazing.
This isn't real time game footage? What a jip. CG movie footage is way different from actual in-game footage. I mean, god, look at Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. The CG movie is fantastic. The in-game graphics just suck ass, in my personal opinion.
why mark him down? he's correct, do a bit of research. it's a cancelled THQ game that realtimeuk created the intro for. this is the pre-rendered intro. nothing more.
@DrDentist We can do this, DX11 programmers atm have not become masters of it yet. When they do, environments such as this will be totally exploitable.
This is getting very close looking indecipherable from reality. There are some parts in this that actually look real and not CG. I'd give technology about 5 more years and game graphics will be indistinguishable from real life. I guess that'd be like, DirectX12 of DirectX13. What do you guys think?
can no one read at the end of the video it say 2008 thq inc. all rights reserved its a game called storm birds this trolls just trying to get views...
I personally think, when DX11 shows how to make good tessalation, the future DX and openGL packets should fokus on proper texturing, even depth of colour and intricate contrast. All these colours and shades and contrast seems still TOO CGI. I dont know, what colour depth level we are, but 256-bit level SHOULD solve the colour issue, then there is the contrast isuue...
I think tessalation is an important feature, personally. I'm surprised as to why it hasn't been in previous DX packages, it's certainly a great help for speed/looks performance.
fuck yeah it is prerendered u cant even see any pixels on teh edges not only was it prerendered it was edited in alll kinds of way so make it look like eye candy
yea tobad all pc gamers werent high end enthusiasts then maybe we would have grpahics in games like this in the next 3 years. wish pc components where more accessible to the less rich crowd to where everyone could afford a multi core cpu, dx11 card, legal win7 , come ram, new mobo case and psu. but no.... that will never happen. oh well.
this is a pre render like already said 44 times in the comments below.
Current generation graphics cards cannot run games at that kind of graphics.
This is a pre-rendered cinematic of the target graphics of a game. However, the target graphics and the actual graphics always turns out to be VERY different.
Current generation graphics cards can run the high-end games now. However, if a real-time game were to exist with these graphics (which is leaps and bounds ahead of what exists now), even a Radeon 5970 would get 1-2fps.
While it may indeed be pre-rendered, it is NOT leaps and bounds beyond current gen. If you understand what tesselation would allow in terms of detail enhancement then those planes wouldn't be a problem to render. Coupled with compute shaders, the rendering could see a large step forward in the near future. The only problems I see are particle quality, which is way to high to be rendered in realtime, and some ray tracing you could see in the reflections on the planes. The rest is do-able.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm estimating a minimum of 4 years before we see anything remotely like this game in terms of graphics, physics, speed of movement, and how much is really going on in the screen with this level of renderring.
You speak as though everything you mentioned is just about everything there is to graphics: There's a lot more than that.
Level of physics as seen? Done. Euphoria/PhysX/Havok -They can all do this. Don't forget that key-frame destruction allows for some impressive visuals
Speed of Movement? I believe you're referring to the FPS. The only other thing I can think of is that motion blur that you see. That effect is in fact currently used in the Cryengine. It uses a per-pixel motion blur system as seen here. It gives the illusion of higher frame rates.
How much is going on in screen? You're answer, sir, is DX11.
It seems that with a lack of counter-points you've simply fallen to insulting me directly. I never stated that games like this were in existance. I said that, with currently developed hardware they are, to an extent, possible. In your response, if you choose to respond, I would appreciate it if you would answer the following question. Do you even know what DX11does?
I do realize what DX11 has introduced, and what it is theoretically going to be able to do. I am also very aware of what DX10 introduced, and what it was supposed to do.
What I'm saying is that:
1) Current gen cards can't handle this
2) It will be some time before there is a generation of cards where this game can be run at playable FPS
3) It will be a minimum of 4 years before we see something like this (both capability from hardware, and the offering from the programmer gaming end of it).
And by "this game" I mean something with equal or better graphics and otherwise.
As for the physics, I was just referring to the quality of the physics displayed. I've seen other physics systems... they're a bit basic. But maybe I'm wrong... I guess on review this is fine. I was just thinking in terms of some of the flight being more physics reliant than pre-set based (which would be neat).
Immer noch der beste Trailer ever seen. Schade, dass die Produktion des Spiels eingestellt wurde und episch, wie hier ein paar meinen, das sei mit DX11 realisiert worden. ;-)
