  • HAN SHOT FIRST, well actually the other guy didn't shoot AT ALL, why the fuck did Lucas change it. smh

  • i made a remix video on my page about the alterations, called "special effects are a tool"

  • I liked it when lucas didn't have total control, alone he is not very good.

  • Worst changes ever... especially the dragon call shit

  • Just imagine if every six years or so, Michaelangelo crawled his way out of his grave, shambled his rotten, dead ass down the main plaza of the Vatican like one of those "Walking Dead" fucks, climbed up the walls of the Sistine Chapel, and, pulling a paintbrush out of his dusty anus, changed the color of God's tunic. Over and over again........

  • i like the nooo

  • I don't know what everyone's opinions are on the other changes, but I think we can all agree that the Krayt Dragon call is just ridiculous. It's sad to know that someone would think that is an improvement. It sounds like a joke.

  • is it possible to take the audio iso files of the "no!" and dragon call(then get the original audio clip to replace it), out of the blu ray?

  • LOL Ben Kenobi's call sounded like a bad rock band.

  • 0:42 Seriously, what goes through his head? "You know what's been wrong all these years, Krayt Dragons are supposed to sound like an old man stubbing his toe"

  • The only change that really ruins this is the dragon call, Wtf if wrong with Lucas. It's sounds like a 15 year old getting kicked in the balls

  • 20 years later

    -every character is CGI

-Obi-Wan speaks only in dragon tounge á la Skyrim

-Han Solo only shoots retroactively and is able to flex his neck like Reed Richards

-Carbonite is the default lighting technology all over the galaxy

    -Ewoks are super kawaii ~uguu

-all of Vader's dialogue will be NOOOOOOOOs

  • in 2 years, he's gonna re-re-re-re-re-release the saga, you can see the feature of an all brand new star shinning in space, as the millennium falcon flies by. Wait for it, soon, in a store near you.

  • George Lucas needs to be checked into a hospital for excessive editing syndrome!

  • The new carbonite escape is probably one of the stupidest things I have seen in my life. But, I like the new CGI Yoda. When Lucas made Phantom Menace, he had all of the backround CGI, and the infamous Jar Jar Binks, and they couldn't have a CGI Yoda! Stupid, stupid, stupid! They had a puppet in 1980, but now with all of the new CGI in 1999! George Lucas was (and is) a genius, but he can sometimes be annoying with the changes he makes.

  • @bbaggins1298 And Obi-Wan's new scream in A New Hope, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The stupidest thing I have heard in my life!!!! Literally!!

  • @bbaggins1298 gosh, i thought that was a spoof from the uploader...until i read your comment, for real. I cannot believe that was actually added to the scene.....O.o

  • ok, fix up the picture and make it look crisper but for God sake Lucas STOP CHANGING SHIT! In twenty years the original trilogy is going to have a 20 minute song and dance act in it for Christs sake.

  • Why doesn't Lucas actually make movies instead of leeching off this franchise for the rest of his life? Seriously, how many more releases are we going to see before Lucas considers it complete? (even though he systematically destroys it with each new edition)

Oh wait... Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Go back to milking the franchise!

  • @sec0ndevolution

It's going to seriously piss off people in the future who want to see the films, I mean, jesus.

I don't mind if he releases multiple versions of the film together, but what he's doing is crazy.

  • @Usul573 I don't think people in the future will be as bitchy as people are now over petty little things. We (a lot of us) are from the generations that are (over)reacting to this. In the future it'll be old hat; people will have gotten over it and learned to enjoy a series of fun films again. Plus, I'm sure the unaltered versions will be easily available. I mean, come on! :P

  • @Agahnim18

At least episodes 4 and 5 are preserved in the film library untouched I believe.

Though Lucas does seem to be trying to get rid of the original Star Wars versions essentially, and that's very upsetting.

Either way, it will be annoying for about four versions of the films to exist.

  • @Usul573 I wouldn't say he's trying to get rid of the original versions. I mean, first, I'd say the films are still 95% the same! It's not like these little alterations are changing the films or the plot or characters fundamentally. Second, they just released the original versions on DVD a few years ago! That's far from sweeping them under the rug. I'm sure we'll occasionally get them in one form or another over the years. I don't think it's much to worry about in the long run, to be honest. :/

  • you guys need to calm the fuck down. seriously. Youre losers.

The "noo" is a good addition, and youre only complaining that youre childhood is being altered.

if the line "but i was gonna go to toshi station to pick up some power converters" had just been added in 2011 youd be complaining all the same. but you grew up with the line, even though it was terrible.

    Just shut the fuck up

  • @InvincibleNumanist Hear, hear!

I don't know that I'd say that line is terrible, but it certainly would be bitched and moaned about had it been added later. I think it's mostly nostalgia. For example, had the prequel trilogy (I,II,III) been the original trilogy, released over 30 years ago, I'm 99% sure people would be complaining about that crazy new sequel trilogy (IV,V,VI) and its relative lack of the original trilogy's character drama and political intrigue. :P

  • @InvincibleNumanist Calm down? Yet you're the one calling being losers and telling people to STFU? Rightyo, fanboy. Run along now.

  • @sec0ndevolution He's a fanboy because he tells people they're overreacting and being unreasonable? O_o

    Okay.

  • @Agahnim18 Yup. An irrational defence of Lucas for raping the franchise would certainly qualify as fanboy material, yes.

  • @sec0ndevolution

"raping a franchise" is an incredibly fanboyish thing to do. Im the one saying the series could reasonable have changes made to it, so how exactly is that me being a fanboy?

  • @sec0ndevolution Who's being irrational? Do people who are being rational or sensible about something make outlandish claims like "Lucas is raping and systematically destroying the franchise" or suggest that people who think otherwise are clueless fanboys? I don't think so.

I mean, we're saying, "Sure, he changed a few things here and there, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're bad." Others are saying, "He changed a few things--THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE; HIS CREATION IS NOW SHIT." :/

  • @Agahnim18 The changes aren't necessarily bad? Oh, yes they are. Who can watch the climax of ROTJ now without being exposed to Vader's cornball 'NOOOOOOOOO...'? Lucas's (constant) revision of the original trilogy is equatable to someone throwing a cow turd at the Mona Lisa.

  • @sec0ndevolution Okay.

  • @sec0ndevolution Alright, I can't help it!

You do know that Leonardo was also a perfectionist who found it hard to stop revising his work, right? He worked on the Mona Lisa for years and wasn't satisfied. Had he lasted a few more years, the Mona Lisa we see today probably wouldn't be exactly the way it is now, and I don't think people would have thought it was trash today. It's all relative. Let it go and try to look at the bigger picture. What will folk that aren't reacting to change think?

  • @Agahnim18 The Mona Lisa "or La Gioconde" was painted by Michelangelo, not Leonardo.

  • @Zhengda10 No, it was Leonardo.

    Wiki it or something.

  • @Zhengda10 even 4 years old know that mona lisa is painted by da vinci

  • Why the fuck do ewoks blink now???????

  • Why did they have to change the Vader redemption scene?!

WHY? WHY? WHYYYY? (In all seriousness, I realize I'm being immature.)

  • Ol' George is getting all the money he'll ever get from me.

  • i wish everyone would shut the fuck up

  • I think we need more Noooooooo!

  • I think we need to hear the Darth Vader, "Noooooo" howl much more.

I could have saved a lot more on my car insurance, "Noooooo".

    I could've had a V8, "Noooooo".

"Nooooooooo"...-ing is half the battle. GI-JOE!

Hey look out the window. Isn't that Sn-"Nooooo00o"?

  • Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to chocolate ice cream, chocolate ice cream leads to chubby waistlines.

  • all the star wars movie sound much better on bluray then on dvd the pictuer look about the same on bluray

  • so far, most of these changes I probably wouldn't have even noticed if they weren't brought to my attention. The only one I don't like (besides Greedo shooting first but that's old news there) is Vader's new "NOOO" scene. Really Lucas? Haven't you turned Darth Vader into enough of a meme?

  • The "Nooooo!" just ruined that entire scene. I would rather watch the original versions I got on VHS 25 years ago than any of the special editions.

  • What about the Sebulba type alien walking in Jabba's palace? It's clear as dogs balls.

  • The scene with Yoda looks so fake. The CG looked better in the original ATOC, and that was nearly ten years ago!

  • Why?

  • The NO really didn't fit vader's character. The silence suited him more. I mean since when would an almost emotionless robot author lord scream NOOO! I mean, come on george Lucas! Really?

  • @ocarinaZelda909 Anakin/Vader were far from emotionless. Come on, ocarina! Really?

    :P

  • Honestly, I could actually live with CGI updates in order to make the movie able to compete with the newer films, But Dialogue change is really uneeded.

  • NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I like having CGI Yoda in all the first 3. The Vadar no just makes him seem a little caring which is ok, everything else....whatever.

  • Let's capture George Lucas, hide and lock him up and throw away the key.

  • Gotta love that new dragon call.

    WOOOOOOOOO! SPRING BREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK!!!

  • What's different about Jabba's Palace door?

  • @DanielWilliamClark Jabbas door used to look real, now it looks CGi.....which makes it cool.

  • @DanielWilliamClark It just looks bigger. Even though it was obviously expanded with CG, it doesn't look very digital to me. :/

  • The new Krayt dragon roar has to be the goofiest, silliest thing I've ever heard. What the hell, Lucas?

  • i join Lucas, it's better like that cos for exemple, for nooo !!! when you watch the old version it's a little bit weird this silence but it's star wars so it will always be great !!

  • The STAR WARS SPECIAL EDITION 50!! STARRING HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN AS LUKE! C-3PO AND R2D2 AS CGI! EWAN MCGREGOR AS BEN KENOBI!! NATALIE PORTMAN AS PRINCESS LEIA CGI AS CHEWIE CGI AS YODA CGI AS ALL DROIDS HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN AS DARTH VADER CGI AS ALL SPACESHIPS HARRISON FORD AS HAN SOLO AND CGI AS JAR JAR BINKS!!! TEMUERA MORRISON AS BOBA FETT!!!
  • My new policy is:If I am so interested to see the changes, I go to YouTube. I won't bother getting a new set for no reason.

  • @DarthRushy Not even for the best visual and audio quality these movies have ever seen, along with a bunch of new extras? I mean, if not for those, why the hell else would you keep re-buying the same movies over and over again? >_>

  • In the Emperor scene, the first No should've been enough like "No. *carries Emperor away*" Obi-Wan's new scream is weirder, maybe Lucas should just delete that overdiscussed Greedo scene.

  • George Lucas could care less about what the fans want and only cares about what he wants as long as he's lining his pockets

  • @smiley17777777 Yeah, sure that's true. Oh, wait, no it's not! Do you think a few million more would matter to someone who is so filthy rich? George Lucas is the same man who gave away HALF of his fortune to charity a few years ago!

  • @Agahnim18 He turned into a business man and he basically owns all the rights for Star Wars so the unbelievable amount of SW products that come out are his decision. He has already re-released SW multiple times and he decides the changes in every release. I guarantee you that If the original SW's get released in 3D there will be even more changes that further enrage fans beyond belief but Lucas will say, "It is how I originally imagined it". He is a complete sell-out!

  • @smiley17777777 I'm sorry, but none of those indicate a greedy bastard. Some of them do indicate incredible double standards, though; you do know Lucas had rights to merchandising from the very beginning, right? He definitely took advantage of those rights from the very beginning, too, even when Star Wars was what you guys would probably consider unsullied. Also, new video formats=new releases. It's only logical.

  • @Agahnim18 Have you ever seen redlettermedia review of the prequels? It's a brutally honest and funny commentary/review. George Lucas basically made the prequels so that he could shove in as many things he could make into games and toys in there

  • @smiley17777777 XDXDXDXDXD @ those reviews being in any way objective. I've watched some of them and smashed my head into the nearest wall repeatedly. You can't get more biased and uninformed than that crap. Again, it's like they make up their minds about something and then try their darndest to twist facts, ignore others, fabricate things and double those standards to fit their initial conclusions. It's ridiculous.

  • @Agahnim18 If you decide to climb out of your Star Wars obsessive life and actually listen to the points he makes, he actually makes valid points. Sure he may be overly brutal but it is comedy at its best and even better the points he makes are oh so true. Attack of the Clones is his best review. You should really watch all 9 parts and try to stay open minded

  • @smiley17777777 Star Wars obsessed? You really don't know what you're talking about. I love SW to bits, but I'm by no means obsessed. Where did that come from, anyway? :/ I'm just calling out what I see as bullshit for what it is. Open-mindedness is my forte--how do you think I'm arguing in FAVOR of SW in this modern era of open hate from the "fans"?

Those reviews are nowhere near an objective truth. Y'know, just 'cause he's telling you what you want to hear, it doesn't make it true.

  • @Agahnim18 To tell you the truth, I hate Star Wars because of George Lucas because he took a great movie and added unnecessary crap just so he could make more money from fans who appreciated the SW's Universe. I WOULD RATHER SEE PUPPETS THAN CGI SHOVED ON THE SCREEN. I don't watch anymore Star Wars because the originals are gone and the new versions are just insulting. If you think what he did was a good thing then you you should go right ahead and help George rape the shit out of SW

  • the vader.." noo" is actually good..i think anyway..it reminds me of frankenstein,

  • Well. The whole "No" thing sucks. Adding a couple blinks to the ewoks eyes is ok i guess. the han greedo thing still sucks. couldnt tell with the carbonite escape.

They say the key to communication is brevity, so I'm still confused why George Lucas would choose to replace "Bring my Shuttle" with "Alert my star destroyer to prepare for my arrival" it was better the old way. blah blah...

  • Kenobi's scream sounds like a drunk prostitute drag queen after 3 days without sleep XD.

  • i think the Yoda change in 1 was for a good cause

  • From these changes I like GCI Yoda, Ewoks eyes, don't really care about Jabba's door or "dragon's" scream, and Vader's "NOOO" had a potential, but should have been executed bit different: the second NO had to blend with the background sound (they did it in the Russian version in "Episode III", so it still is a cliche, but sounds better).

  • I was laughing in the theaters with the famous nooooooooo but adding this stupid line in episode 6 was the dumbest decision ever executed by lucas not to mentioned he ruined his star wars vision with the prequels

  • @barzoly Agreed, he ruined everything what was mysterious and charming about Star Wars. The last scene wherre Vader screams 'No' is just very very bad - when he is silent it's a lot more better and atmospheric.

  • The Blu-Ray changes sucked. The only ones I'm think are okay are the CGI Yoda and the Ewok eyes.

  • 0:42 I didn't realise Bruce Lee was in this FILM!

  • I have this theory that fans of the Star Wars saga (myself included) are just so jaded from these changes that we strain ourselves to explain how they don't actually make the movie worse, hence the "he says 'no' because he's become Anakin again" bull.

Let's just face facts, people. Vader saying anything in the last scene is wholly irrelevant, as any producer worth his salt would have pointed out to Lucas. It only serves to distract the audience, like most of the other minor changes in the SE.

  • @Squeejee09 You're so jaded that you trip over yourself to defend it? O_o That doesn't seem right. I think it's the other way around. It seems that some people have gotten so used to moaning about Lucas doing what he wants with his own work and being unable to accept that it IS his work and that change does not necessarily equal a lack of quality, that they pick on anything and everything SW-related.

  • @Agahnim18 I'm not saying that something new from G Lucas is automatically bad, I'm just saying that the special edition changes (by and large) are. I mean, there's a moment in the SE of ANH when the entire screen is blocked for about a second by a wholly irrelevant CG creature in the foreground - that's just bad cinematography, no excuse for it at all. Then there's the SE scene with Han/Jabba that's completely redundant and adds little to the movie besides run time it's all just a mess.

  • @Squeejee09 How is that bad cinematography? O_o People walk by in the foreground all the time in film.

Also, about the Jabba scene, when looking at the trilogy and saga as a whole, it's definitely not useless or out of place. When looking at the movie on its own, how is this any less useless than, for example, Greedo's confrontation with Han? In fact, those two scenes work together within the movie!

  • @Agahnim18 Because they're wholly irrelevant, and block the view of what's going on. It's like that out of place comedy bit with the two robots that got added in - it's a distraction, nothing else.

And the Jabba scene is useless BECAUSE of the Greedo scene. Everything we need to know about Han - the bounty on his head, the fact that he's a smuggler, and the fact that he is deadly - is established in the Greedo scene. The Jabba scene was originally cut because it is redundant.

  • @Squeejee09 They're distractions because they weren't there before and you're noticing them now? :P The Jabba scene just adds more to Han's intro AND gives us more on Jabba. It's the same as any other scene wherein they repeat/reinforce information and add to what we know about a character/situation. Also, the Jabba scene was cut for being irrelevant to the picture. They had no idea if they could make more movies, so they streamlined it. It is very relevant to the saga as a whole, however.

  • @Agahnim18 I should say it was cut for being irrelevant to the picture AT THAT TIME. Things change, which I notice a lot of people hate. :P

  • @Agahnim18 They're not distractions because they weren't there and I'm noticing them now, they're distractions because they're great, big, poorly CGI'd beasts that have no relevance to anything that's going on and block the entire frame for a time greater than one second. While other characters are talking, no less.

And what, exactly, does the Jabba scene add to the saga as a whole? Other than confirming the fact that Jabba can move under his own power, I mean. And also gratuitous Boba Fett.

  • @Squeejee09 OK. "Those differences are different and I'm annoyed. Other people have noticed that they're differences, too, and they're complaining! It must mean these differences are terrible. Let us all react first and then come up with poorly thought out reasons why our overreactions are justified!!! At 'em, fledgling bandwagon!!!"

And here we are now. Bandwagon is huge and hulking, steaming along mostly on power from the "argumentum ad populum" fallacy. >_>

  • @Agahnim18 Well, to each his own, I guess. I just wonder how I can be accused of appealing to the people when I've tried to offer a logical argument from a movie maker's perspective <_<

At the end of the day, Star Wars is more than a movie franchise. It's a cultural FORCE (see what I did there?), and people who are bothered by the changes will never stop complaining about them until we see an HD restored Theatrical Cut.

But I have to admit, the new Krayt Dragon call is fucking HILARIOUS!

  • @Squeejee09 Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying every complaint is part of sheep following a herd. I'm sure there are plenty of valid, objective complaints out there--they're just really hard to come by, what with "Oh, it's slightly different so now it sucks" and "new filmmaking technology (CG), eh? this is now a turd" and other such nonsense and double standards in the way. :/

  • @Squeejee09 But I do agree that we should get the original cuts in HD some day. We better. I just think we can get that done without needlessly bashing for the sake of bashing. Just because these aren't the original cuts, that doesn't make them trash. In fact, there are tons of reasons someone can say they are superior--as many reasons as someone else can argue the opposite.

  • I just noticed this watching this video. When Han is unfreezing with all that crazy light, where is all that light when showing clips of Leia? haha

  • For over thousands of generations the members of Lucas Arts were once guardians of peace and justice in the old Republic.... before the dark times, before the empire. A young producer named George Lucas who was a pupil of ours until he turned to evil, helped fire the remaining original members of LucasFilm. Lucas was seduced by the Dark Side of the Force.....

  • @Limuel831 Lucas wasn't seduced by the Dark Side of the Force, but of the Dark Side of fame...

    Arrogance and money-hunger.

  • I'm honestly okay with all the changes. Because, isn't this how George Lucas wanted his creation to look? I mean, it's his creation. He has every right to change it.

  • @gamerdude309

Of course he does. And you have every right to not buy it when it's rereleased again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.

They are purposefully leaving things out of the new set to sell you another set down the road.

  • @gamerdude309 Much like everyone else has thr right to comment these changes actual dimminish the movies.

  • I'd like to see a cut of Episode I with as little of Jar Jar as the plot will allow.

  • @uburton it exists. It's a fan edit called "The Phantom Edit"....its kind of hard to find, but ive watched it. Its okay, i mean even though theres less jarjar, how good can episode 1 REALLY get..?

  • All thses changes where uneccesacry but Vader shouting no is the only one I actual dislike. It takes away from the John Williams score which gives the scene enough emotion and intensity as it is. It's almost like a joke. I couldn't believe it.

  • These were all good, minor fixes. This wasn't like, adding Jar Jar into the background of a scene or something like that. I applaud these alterations. I grew up with these films just like the rest of you, and I'm all for it. People just get butthurt too easily.

  • now listen, i can understand cleanin a few things up (like the landspeeder cloud)

    but not changing key elements

  • A new door!!!!!

old ben doesn't need to make a different noise to scare tuscans.

y spend money on fixing stuff that ain't broke

  • I'm happy about the yoda change I thought the puppet looked creepy and weird

  • how the hell did obi wan make that noise?

  • George Lucas should have added Captain Obvious walking in at the end after Vader threw the Emperor into the reactor and say :" It seems that after all, Anakin still had love for his son!"

  • Just the worst.

  • You need to update the video with actual footgae from the blu-ray set. Your Krayt call snippet doesn;t have the new CGIed rocks for R2 to hide behind in that scene.

  • why??

  • THE FUCK WAS THAT???? @ 0:42

I saw some videos on yt with those changes and i thought those are just spoofs from the Blue Ray release. Now i think those changes are really in the movie. NOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @PoweredByFlow Hahahaa, shite, what the hell is Lucas thinking, this is simply hilarious.

  • Before I die, I am going to remake the entire Star Wars saga from scratch. At this point, there's no chance of ruining the franchise, because Lucas has already done that. But who knows, maybe my remakes will bring balance back to the Saga.

  • Lucas really needs someone to actually step up and say nooooooooo to him in the style of Lord Vader in protest to all the dreadful alterations. Who here would actually do it?

  • In empire strikes back, they used a new shot of the head hologram of the emperor, when he is talking to vader.

  • Vader yelling no and obi-wan's scream... Wow. Horrible.

  • everybody grow up. the changes happened, most of it was decent.

    deal with it.

  • some of the changes are fine and make sense, but some of them are just so aweful. like the han solo carbonite part. if he wasn't suddenly now bursting with light it would be fine, but it just looks extra cheesy. animated yoda makes sense because he looks like ep2-3. ewok eyelids look fine too. obi-wan super echo scream? worst thing ever.

  • oh my you guys are dum the changes wqont be for long just get the 1995 changes if you hates these T-T

  • FUCK YOU, GEORGE LUCAS! Fuck you, george lucas! Fuck you, george lucas! Fuck you, george lucas! fuck you, george lucas!

  • Are these seriously all real? I knew he changed some stuff but it's like some 12 year old was having fun with an editing program.

  • Vader is yelling NOOOO and I'm yelling WHYYYYY

  • George Lucas ? Noooooooooooooooooooooooo......

Omg, George, I hope you die soon...

  • Comment removed

  • Oh why is everyone so afraid of change these days. Chill out, its just a movie, it wont kill anyone. They are remaking spiderman, one of my favorite movies, but hey I'm not complaining. It looks bad ass, I'll watch it. I'll admit the new obi won cry is a little silly but I didn't get why they had it in the first place. But hey, at least now it sounds like it came from a human.

  • @Movie16Master

No self-respecting Star Wars fan would agree to Lucas' changes.

  • @BeyondLame Okay Star Wars fan, if you were such a damn fan you wouldn't give a fuck. You found buy it because you love the whole saga that much. And I'm not sure why the hell you bothered to put in self-respecting, it just makes no sense to being a fan of anything. According to you, because I don't mind the changes from Lucas then I have no respect for myself. You're a stupid ass hole. Grow the piss up.

  • @Movie16Master

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

  • @BeyondLame I see it like the light bulb, never broken but improved to meet standards of today. I mean come on, if the original star wars released yesterday it wouldn't be as great as it was when it did release. star wars is old, it needs something for the new generation of today. Would you rather have them remake star wars all together?

  • Thank for a legit video on the changes.

  • Oh dear. It seems a LOT of the changes made have not been very popular with the fans of the Saga. Am I alone in thinking it very ironic that a single fan (armed only with basic CGI knowledge and software) actually did a far better job than ILM and LFL in restoring episode 4 (episode 5 to follow soon) - and actually consulted the fans before altering these beloved films? If you haven't seen Adywans Revisited versions you should check them out. Make up your own mind which changes are better lol

  • George Lucas took one of cinema's most fearsome villains and turned him into a whiny bitch.

  • Guess I'm a bad fan but (1) a lot of that stuff I don't see any diffrence and (2) with everything going on in the real world right now I can't get worked up over some changes in movies from the late 70's/early 80's

  • Yeah, the Vader saying no at the end reminds us that inside the tough exterior of Darth Vader is still the whiny bitch called Anakin Skywalker. There is no better version of Star Wars than the original untampered theatrical versions, and to me the prequels are not Star Wars.

  • It's sad. The 1997 version I liked. Just cleared the "picture" and made some effects workable for newer generations. The DVD version in 2007, it was OK, but this is kind of too farfetched... too much.

  • i actually like that they animated yoda he looks good as a puppet in the original trilogy but in the prequels you see the yoda puppet and you're like wtf?

  • who the hell saw all these changes and thought they were good they all look terrible

  • i like the ROTJ vader yell noo add because you know thats the point when Anakin skywalker is back :d

  • @maximc93 AMEN! You get the smartest fan ever award. I haven't replied to a single comment until I saw someone that actually got it. The NOOOOOOOOOOOO! in ROTJ is an echo of the other unpopular NOOOOOOOOOOO! from Episode III as Anakin dies and becomes Vader BECAUSE he killed Padme. Vader see's in his tortured son Shmee & Padme. We know that Anakin's pain from his failure's to save his Mother and his wife explode inside him. Finally Anakin screams free of the Emperor's Vader cage & saves his son

  • @DisneyFanReview the prequels weren't that bad i even more liked them than some of the original trilogy movies the only best from the original trilogy was Return Of The Jedi

  • @DisneyFanReview It's not that people don't get it. It's just that a lot of fans (myself included) don't see why the original films should be altered to be consistent with the prequels. If the prequel trilogy had been made with more care then there wouldn't be any issues of inconsistency between the two trilogies.

  • @DisneyFanReview mmm Do you need the word "no" to realize all of that? I think you need to spent more time watching movies and reading books

  • @EonFafnir You don't need the word "no" on its own, but as an echo of the other "NOOOOO," it creates a parallel. Movies and books use parallels like this all the time.

  • @DisneyFanReview I think he should've yelled NOoOoOo before he grabbed the Emperor. Makes more sense that way. :P

  • @DisneyFanReview Too bad Anakin was never a noble or likable character in the prequels, like he was supposed to be. His "change" from good to evil was never convincing. But his redemption in Jedi was.

  • @DisneyFanReview I can see why it was done, and the link it makes to Ep III, but did it really need a vocal 'no'!? I think the turning from Emperor, to Luke and back again was all we needed.

  • @DisneyFanReview i agree.

  • @DisneyFanReview Or maybe he just likes raping the original trilogy.

  • @DisneyFanReview

The scream is not only cheesy, it takes away all the emotional weight of the scene like the original, which did NOT need words. What did luke become a jedi when he screamed NOOO at vader in Empire? The original editors and directors of the first movies knew what they were doing. Maybe Han should have yelled NOOOO at greedo when he shot first too, or Luke screaming NOOOO so you know he was about to rescue everyone from the sarlac instead of silently signaling R2.

  • @DisneyFanReview I would have him say "Stop Killing my Son you fugly son of a bitch" or simply " emperor palpatine.....ya fiyihd"

  • @DisneyFanReview Possibly but that doesnt make it less clunky and badly executed.

  • @DisneyFanReview

Are you people really that dense that you need it spelled out for you like that? What made that a great scene is the tone and the internalization of the characters emotions. There are so many scenes like that in the original movies. that's why people love them, because the audience is able to form this deep emotional connection without the characters saying a goddamn word. So NO it's not that no one "gets it' it's that a perfect moment was ruined by one ham-fisted change.

  • @FreakTimmah The scene was "ruined" because it's different, and noticing a difference is an easy way to take someone out of the moment. I say get used to, let it sink in and appreciate it for what it is. In the end, the scene is the same, except with a bit more vocalization. :P The emotion is unchanged.

  • @maximc93

Like they said in a different video, show, don't tell. Adding a whiny "Noooo!" is telling.

  • @maximc93 I think the main problem isn't the "Noooo" itself, but that it's so horribly done, with no believable feeling. When I saw Revenge at the theater, the entire audience laughed at his yell. Not quite the response it should have had.

  • I actually like the Yoda Phantom Menace change
