What I really like about this game is the music. George Sanger and David Hayes collaborated to do the soundtrack and while the game doesn't have credits, Dave Warhol, founder of the development company told me the composers.

Saying that AVGN sucks is a little unfair. He finished Street Fighter 2010 and Transformers, and you can his the NES with no cheat devices while the game's ending is on the screen.

Sometimes he intentionally plays badly to make a certain section of the game seem hard, but when he does that, the game is indeed hard as ****.

And, of course, it's just meant for entertainment. Unless he directly alters the game footage while preteding it's unaltered, everything's fine.

@shanethefox You're totally correct, in fact I believe he stated this verbally in an interview he did. Actually, in real life, he doesn't normally wear the white shirt with the pens, either, it's part of his character. In a video I saw of him being interviewed he was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. But, many people mistake the character for the real James.

Although, actually, he may honestly have not known about the hearts thing. Usually he pokes fun at stuff that actually exists in the game.

Everyone knows AVGN sucks at video games. That's why he's so angry. Alcohol probably doesn't make it any better (depends on how you look at it). FYI I beat the first level of Superman (and some other parts) when I was in middle school. The game still sucks ass though.

This was the only review I didn't find much agreement with AVGN on. Yeah, it had it's annoyances, but it still was pretty fun!

Based on other posts, on average most people made it to the 3rd or 4th case.

AVGN was still right to complain. Ideally everyone who owns the game would have the instruction manual, but for those who don't I can't imagine working out that you're supposed to store hearts and then select them later. It's far too convoluted for such a simplistic game.

I bet AVGN could've done much better if he knew about the hearts for the first aid kit. That seemed to be the biggest problem and understandably so; those snipers are a bitch.

Knew they couldn't make a game that could be THAT unforgiving. Even if it is the NES.

I don't even see how the game itself is terrible. I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid. I sucked at it and to be honest, I never knew what I was doing in the game. Though, I have seen my older brother beat the shit out of it. He told me that I must be a grand master to play it the whole way through. I would review this for a rebuttal to AVGN's review of this game because I was pissed off when I saw his review.

Yeah, I do my best. I cannot avoid them all sometimes as I don't have each and every one of them memorized. (I have better things to do than engage in a fruitless task like memorizing the positions of every sniper in the NES Dick Tracy.)

However, I've played the game enough that I can avoid some of them as well as try to prevent getting shot, such as stopping early or trying to get out of the car before the bullet hits the car.

What made this game hard was that you had only one life and no continues. In addition, you had to complete the entire case in a single life; if you die, you had to re-collect clues you got before.

I think the counterfeiting ring which you nail Numbers for is just your first case. I think (Though I haven't played it) each level is a different case, with a different culprit for you to ultimately arrest.
