Yeah so, heres the thing. This is the first video of you I have seen, having said that, I absolutely love the way you play AND the tone of that amp. I do believe I will subscribe so as not to miss anything else you do.
@billmeedog Hi Bill, hope you're well mate! i'm not playing at all these days, only pick it up when I am teaching but at the moment i'm just not inspired enough to play. I need to get back into it though as i have some important stuff coming up. Thanks dude :-)
Your NOT playing reminds me of Jeff Beck, (...although Beck is NOT a shredder, but an expressive, unique, and GREAT musician!) in that he's a guy who needs to put his guitar down and NOT PLAY, so that when he picks it back up, he follows his ears and NOT his hands! You and Jeff Beck are the only cats I've ever heard of who actually GET BETTER by NOT PLAYING! Amazing that your economical/perfect-technique NEVER LEAVES YOU!
@starlinginspector man, i know ive been neglecting my guitar due to some video GAMEAGE but in your case that is a true shame! either way i absolutely love your playing. if it means anything to you, after the hundreds of hours i've wasted searching out hundreds of guitarists, you are definitely in my top 3! could listen to you play forever. such a classy player, you've been a huge influence!
@starlinginspector You need to get in a band and go have some fun with it. I know that rut, its like theres no reason to play. I think being in a band would give you more motivation.
What is with everyone not being motivated to play the guitar this year.
The same thing happened to me but I know it has to do with me being stressed out from 8 classes. But also a lot of guitarists nowadays aren't really advancing. I'm going to try to bring something new to the table.
If your amp runs on EL34 powertubes I'd have a matched quad of NOS Mullard/Blackburn for you. They're out of my 2203 Marshall JMP which I bought in 1981. The amp was seldom used and sitting around for the last 30 Years. Drop me a line for more details.
@GuitarHockeyAdct as a starter tabs are fine, learn riffs and licks which are challenging but playable. Once you have a solid enough technique overall, work on harder things such as quick alternate/legato/sweeping. Apply this to any theory you want to learn on the side. Spend time writing licks.
This sounded awesome in person and it sounds great here too. As others have said, this is your best tone yet. You definitely made the right choice in getting this over the Soldano you tried before it.
Phenomenal playing as usual Rick! As always, your tone is superior to all others. Your tone and perfect technique really work with each other. Excellent tone and playing! :-)
