I'm using Photoshop CS2, and I had to add the mask to the layer that I wanted to be the reflection. Also for the gradient, I choose "Foreground to Transparent" which by default is white, however by changing the foreground and background color squares in the Floating Tool pallet, it will change this gradient,
I have a problem with the paint bucket color bleeding into the gradient... I'm using CS3. I found that if I started with the color background I wanted it worked. I dunno, maybe I missed something along the way, but I couldn't get it to work exactly the way you said...
Thanks sooooo much!!! I looked at your tutorial a few months ago and totally forgot how to do this. Now I really need this tool and you were there again to guide me along! I am definatly subscribing!!!!
thanks. I was duplicating the layer and using free transform like you but i would use opacity changes for the reflected image to give it the mirrored look. This is a much better way!
it doesnt matter if the gradient is white and black either as white equals foreground on a mask layer
