Cmon man. Don't stereotype us. Where are you from? The UK? Do I prejudge you as a fancy person who likes crumpets and tea? No. I'm american. I love playing badminton. And I'm actually good. I'm a tennis player mostly. And by the way, badminton doesn't compare to the skill needed for tennis anyway.

  • americans, they have to act that they know everything and they are good at everything.

like when you heard a lot americans say that badminton is a sissy sport and by that they don't play it, it's not because it's a weak sport, it's simply because they suck at it. so they tell you boring sports like swimming and running requires more athleticism. watching is easy, but playing is hard, badminton needs great speed, power, skill, strategy, stamina and mental toughness and steroids won't help.

  • my left ear enjoys this

  • I from Phil and i love badminton!! btw im a player

  • I'm from phil. i love playing badminton.. we will play badminton in our bulprisa .. our bulprisa is 21 22 and 23.. =)

  • These commentators are hopeless!

  • 0:14

Commentator 1: Pretty tough to execute a 2-handed backhand when a racket only wears a 3 ounces.

    Commentator 2: Yeah s--- HUH?!

  • i like it!!!

  • Can someone tell me what a two handed smash is??? lols

  • I love badminton!! Such a good sport

  • Wtf is a two handed back hand ????? Stupid commentators

  • What the hell is a 2 handed back hand...

  • HAHA the first announcer is Bill Clement, he played hockey for the flyers. Anyone know why he is announcing this?

  • i like the British commentators more.

  • wtf??!?!?!?!?!. the blue ones are too good on defensive

  • the fastest man powered sport

  • lol i think the commentators like smashes. they dont like back hands though. someone get Taufik...

  • let them see it..

  • yes very fast

  • Limpele & Eng Hian? from Indonesia

  • I'm in awe at how their hands make de shuttle look so slow.

  • american stereotypes win

  • wow

  • BANG! too much to handle

  • WOW??

  • that was interesting, but if you want laughs then look for "HIGH SPEED BADMINTON 3". But might only be funny to me as I and my friends are in it! hope you take a look at the end as it's made up of highlights xD ;)

  • announcers make me laugh xD

  • "you dont have nearly as much power on the backhand as u do the forehand" wow stupid commentators and its like all the american commentators like are smashes "they didnt go for the smash" "there's the smash" "surprise there weren't more smashes" "and bang" lmfao

  • cmon i mean with the backhand hes quiet right, not everyone got a backhand like hidayat ; ) but he lacks knowlege about the sport and tries to compensate with BANG-vocabulary ;)

  • yes, because naturally being american and being a shitty commentator go hand-in-hand, right? fuck you, you ignorant piece of shit. i don't judge you based on where you live, do i?

  • "Thar's tha smash!!!"

    Lame-ass American commentators...

  • stupid american commentators. Chat so much crap it makes me sick.

  • i truly do fail to see what being american has to do with being a shitty commentator. he may make you sick, but the ignorance that you possess disgusts me far more.

  • @ckwan28 he's canadian

  • its not as fast as today's men's doubles,

but thx for sharing =D nice vid

  • I love badminton!!! I like to play singles, on a HUGE court (more diving :D ) with rubber shuttlecocks for LONNNG shots!!!! Im 14 and at my high school my friend Keith and I are just going to stand up in front of the entire school, and announce that we're starting a badminton club XD

people are gonna stare, ah its gonna be funny!

  • that is great!! i really enjoy playing badminton and hoping this game will soon be popular in United States too. so which high school do you go?

  • Id rather no commentator, mostly cuz of the fact he has no idea what he's saying

  • hahaha. if you say this commentator is bad, then the chinese commentator is worse in 2008 olympics. these two commentators were just reading out from the tv. i don't need someone who tells me the player is serving, jumping, smashing... i will appreciate if i am blind. hahahha

  • Lol:D

  • LOL! i thought i was the only one that thought it was shit... the chinese commentators has a conversation with themselves...

  • intense badminton! i like it :]

  • i like it too. where do you play?

  • this is friggin hilarious

  • commentator sucks... doesn't know a thing bout badminton

  • badminton is my favorite sport

  • that's a long relay

  • god i just love badminton...play it myself...awesome

  • I was the master of badminton in high school. I sucked at everything else, except maybe pickle ball (think ping pong, but larger scale). It didnt used to be an olympic sport (as far as I know), and since I never heard of a 'national badminton league' I never persued any kind of professionalism in the sport. But I'm kicking myself now that its an olympic sport, because I already was beyond excellent at the time. Who knows how good I would've been if I kept playing. It's also a great workout.

  • hahahahahah pickle ball ruuules!

we played it using racketball rackets and a wiffle ball (plastic ball with holes in it) on a badminton court and the ball's allowed to bounce once. how'd you guys play?

  • We used all pickle ball equipment. The rackets are wooden, and shaped similar to ping pong rackets, only a little thicker. The ball is a plastic ball with holes like a wiffle ball, only much thicker with fewer holes than a traditional wiffle ball. Badminton court, but with net touching the floor.

  • oh ya we lowered our net too. i forgot about that.

so pickle ball has real equipment eh? can it be bought or do you have to make it? any department stores sell it, or would i have to get it online?

  • Lol. Why exactly do I have 3 thumbs down? I wasnt being sarcastic if thats what the negative feedback is for. I'm serious, I was fucking great at it, and I really would've persued it if I knew it was going to end up being an olympic sport.

  • I know, I read it and IDK why you were thumbed down, so I upped you.

  • Can someone please send me a personal message telling me someone websites where i can watch professional games?

  • This match is not really a high sport badminton...

  • you might think so i think it's because of the shooting angle. if you see it from side ways, then you might be able to feel the 200mph (miles-per-hour) powerful smash.

  • badminton requires more fast thinking and moving, while table tennis is reactions. might seem the same thing, but for me (font know if i gave the right names) its diferent. for example, bad you have 1 second too move, decide which shot are you using, and where. table tennis, its in 0,2 seconds, you have to put the ball in table, and you can just, without thinking, do a fast block and win the point. about the dificulty, i really dont know which is harder...

  • badminton is harder... tons of footwork and fitness.

  • Cool! NICE ACTION :)

  • Lol they look like yoda in star wars episode II when hes flyin everywhere

  • Totally!!!!:)

  • wow, im a table tennis player, and i dnt like tennis and i was thinking "hmm whats dificult about badminton?" and after seeing this, im like... WWOOOOWW..it seems between table tennis and tennis..strength of one, and reflex andd technique of the other...can anyone who plays badminton compare it to table tennis?thanks

  • with badminton, you get to run more, you get to do more trick shoots and most importantly, to me, it feel GOOD when you smash it hard. you should totally try it yourself. hopefully you can come to tell us how you feel about these two sports.

  • gi! yes, like, 2 days after writting that message, i started training on a badminton club near me. its VERY different from table tennis, no way you can compare both. in badminton, tactics and such are crucial, since theres no spin (blasting balls/shutlecocks to your oponent, unless your way better than him, its not going to work). also, footwork is danm hard.on my first training, i had to stop. after it, with come advices from the coach, i was able to move myseld better, and get less tired.

  • BANG!

  • thats cool!

  • wow great rally :D

  • I can't stand this announcer esp in the MS final...guh

  • the announcers don''t know what they r talking about they pro just randomly picked them up lol

  • Weird American announcers, most of the time the announcer is asian or british. Great video though

  • nice i wish i could play this sport more often, since the last time i played was 5 years ago in freshman PE class

  • there are a lot of places to play and some places are free. you will need to search for them though. or you can tell me which city you live and i might be able to help you find one. good luck.

  • Can you please help me find some places to play badminton? I live in zip code 92840. Many thanks !!!

  • check worldbadminton dot com out. you might find a place to play near your area.

  • I live in that same zip code
