  • Wow that actually hit me when he died

  • that One line " I WAS NEVER ALIVE " it hits you hard SMACK you realise the reality of it and it hits you like a punch in the face or stab in the heart sooo effective such good writing who ever did that they were a genius and hit it on the nail bang on followed by " you're right some losses are not acceptable"

this show was soo underrated id pay anything to see the final 4 episodes finally completed it deserves the full ending not a cliffhanger but cliffhangers are good but this was first class!

  • "Cyborgs were not cost effective." HA! Military intelligence hasn't evolved, I see.

  • i watched this on TV when i was younger! this is an EPIC part of my life an il never forgot C.H.A.S. best army robot that i have ever seen in my opinion. R.I.P C.H.A.S. an yoghurtrancher i am grateful

  • It's "just" a CGI cartoon, but for me, everything in the sacrifice scene, from the music, the camera angles, the dialogue, the action... it's simply flawless, and tugs at the heart strings. One of my favourite things I've watched, ever. It's almost up there with Two Cathedrals WW ep..

  • Damn Chaz is one bad ass mother fucker...

  • "When bringing up the rear it is your responsibility to be alert to enemy activity" Rico got owned and can never recover from that

  • soo SAD!! :( :(

  • robot : this is sparta

  • In honor of C.H.A.S,

    ROUGHNECKS, HO!

  • Higgins: "Get out of here or we are both dead"

    CHAS: "I was never alive"

Man, this simple answer has to be the best from an AI ever. It really touched me. And the following quote "You were right, private Higgins: some losses are not acceptable" ... Come on! On a kid's show? This one was the best!

Thanks for the writers! May they ever find jobs in the entertainment industry. It's been needing quality professional so badly nowadays.

  • Nice Higgins, you murdered CHAS. I hope your happy! :(

  • ITS A TRAP!!!

  • Alert! Defensive System Operational.. in other words... Oh Shit

  • A noble sacrifice from Chas, he will be remembered. What weapon is that the Skinnies are using, a purple lightning cloud?

  • Roughnecks, HO!!!

  • damn..... so how long until the others are unblocked??

thank goodness my nightmares are over :DDD. Back to watching the roughnecks...

  • That had to be the saddest "death" in any show ever :'(

  • woah that is a VERY GOOD WEAPON INVENTED BY the SKInnies T Phia and his men have reallY EXOTIC WEAPONS 2 kill those bugs. SHLD RECOMMEND THEM TO THE MI UNITSincluding the constricier

  • i love the misci of chas's last stand.....last word " roughnecks ho!"

  • That robot can do more than every MI , 1 per squad = Flawless win ...

  • CHAS will be remembered. His sacrifice was unmatched by any other trooper. He will be honored.

  • chaze was a brave soldier

    chaze ho!!!

  • Chas should Have a BNomb And boom Blow up everything like a nuke.

  • Sorry if someone already mentioned this (I didn't quite feel like reading through 117 comments), but several of the voices in this program are clearly recognizable from Knights of the Old Republic (Bioware). I wonder if they recruited them from the show, or it's just some kind of coincidence?

  • Sadness CHAS went boom...

  • perhaps they need to use those robots as perimeter turrets to safeguard spots?

  • Doesnt it seem like Gossard is always getting hurt?

    Roughnecks, HO!

  • Despite the 'not cost effective' label the CHAS unit got we do see some in later episodes.

  • NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL A LAST STAND

  • Well I saw the outcome of that ambush before it started. Skinnies have a non-lethal weapon. Roughnecks have assault rifles. Neither skinnies nor humans can be killed on screen, therefore, Skinny casualties: 0. Roughnecks owned. Maybe roughnecks should start using baseball bats.

  • A few parts back, someone shot the fuel tank of a skimmer blowing a few skinnies all over the screen.

  • yeah, badass way to go out though, Roughnecks Ho! BOOMMMM!

  • poor robot:(

  • That robot kicks ass

  • For saving trooper butt countless of times, all the thanks he gets is some asshole trying to play him down. CHAS was right, some losses ARE acceptable..especially if he's stronger, better and faster than everyone on the team..

  • Gossard: we set off one, it might start a chain reaction then BOOM, BOOM, BOOM goodbye troopers!

    LMAO!!!

  • lol awsome last stand by C.H.A.S.S

  • whats the tune at 6:35

  • One of the better episodes w/o just mindless bugsplatter

  • this episode is so sab :( poor C.H.A.S.S.

  • 06:51

  • it wasn't a cyborg! CYBernetic ORGanism it wasn't in any way an organism! it was a 'bot, plaina nd simple

  • w8 couldnt chas just pick the mine up holding the trigger down then find a rock to hold it down and run

  • sad chazz he said "roughnecks holt!"

  • nooo chazz died!

  • ricos allways the first to be racest

  • I know, I was just thinking that too! First with him, then T'phai. So weird...

  • For a lifeless, nearly emotionless piece of trash, CHAS is kool! It was right, some losses are acceptable.

  • acceptable losses XD 00:22

  • there is a problem. i can't read the video. Youtube says that video is no longer available.

  • right click and hit reload

  • C.H.A.S. is awesome. When he is taking the bugs on hand to claw...wicked!

  • Couldn't Chaz just have easily "super jumped" out of that predicament?

  • 6:11 sweet!

  • The dropships look like Pelicans from Halo, if you ask me.

  • Well actually it would be the Pelicans from Halo look like these dropships. Though yeah a lot of the gear is similar. Ships, armors, weapons, and even the Wasp from the Hydora camp looked similar. Well same concept anyways. I think the roughnecks need a "Puma" lol.

  • go it robot lol!

  • Chaz is such a realist..they just cant handle the truth!

  • Chaz is so awesome

  • Man they ought to just put a turret with a chas type weapon system and brain on the belly of transport ships, they'd turn everything hostile in the LZ 2 dimensional.

  • why didnt they just put one of the dead bugs on the mine

  • NOOOO! Not the bad ass robot! Anything but that! Why! WHY!

  • go robocop. lol

    that robot sounds like ROBOCOP.

  • Fucking skinnies!!!

dude I thought they were friendly>>

    Chas was a great soldier!!!

  • they are friendly. i think they were bein controlled by a control bug

  • Return fire dammit!

  • did the robot just say ''roughtnecks pwn''?

  • His quote at the end about "Troopers coming cheap" was referring to how the creators of the show couldn't afford to animate anymore robots like "Chaz."

  • too bad Chaz was cool.

  • actually more chaz unists are there later in the series

  • yea but there not THE chaz

  • this is why instinct beats programming anyday

    machines cant think intuitively

you never leave a man behind dead OR alive

    semper fi........

  • chass rules why use humans when you can use robots?damnn he gott tonss of weapons boosters and loads of stuff.

  • cos it fucken expesive?

  • well maybe expensive but they one of themm is worths 30 troopers.

  • Because they don't have creative intelligence. a Trooper can do something that is not in the procedures and win. A Robot can't.

  • omg i almost cried for Chas.

I hate self sacfrice. its so sad but heroic, even if it was a robot.

  • holy craap a skinny died

  • The "losses are never acceptable" arguement is idealist crap. If we had not commited and lost soldiers in nearly every war we have faught we would not have been able to win, especially the pacific theatre of world war 2. Idealistic crap. Losses are a tragic reality of war. Its not a literal war if people arent dying.

  • losses are never acceptable but they are inevitable. People dont ever put that second part in because it doesnt make it so dramatic or righteous. A good leader tries to lose as few men as possible because ANY leader knows when uve lost enough men the others will not follow to their deaths. its a morale thing

  • Its a media thing. Losses are something we have to accept as much as we dont want to. People die in war and its ultimately the only singular truth you can find in war. If no one is dying, then the war must not be that hard and thusly could probably be resolved through some other means. It is of this generation we have lost only 4000 soldiers in the war in Iraq, and this is looked at as unacceptable. When you compare this to other wars its been pretty damn acceptable. 4000 is better then 20,000.

  • When you blindly accept that deaths will occur they will happen more often. Like i said they are inevitable, not that every single one needs the world to stop. Look at vietnam the losses there were to heavy american morale droped so low they have to pull out. When soldiers in war die troopers suffer, families suffer and if less people want to be soldiers outa fear there leaders will get em killed. and well, then you lose. as for acceptable 19,999 is more accepable than 20,000 but still not

  • Vietnam was a strategic and political nightmare, out casualty count had nothing to do with it. Our forces were limited, they couldnt occupy enemy territory. So we basically ended up fighting and losing the same land over and over again, which is why the body count was so high. Politics and a poor strategy. What we really needed to do was push all the way into NVA held territory and take them on their own land. It was only a "Quagmire" because certain political factions pushed it into being one.

  • When compared to the losses inflicted on the enemy, 4000 is almost acceptable. However, warfare has become more accurate, so casualties tend to be lower, therefore we've gotten used to hearing about less casualties than usual. Since Romania pulled out from Irak (I think), I dunno whether our guys have suffered even 20 deaths, much less 100. I call that very damn lucky, although we were pretty much the poor relative in that theater of operations.

  • losses are never low. American losses are low consider the soldier/citizen count in iraq? they probably have an exceptionaly high amount of deaths. course when invaded by a more advanced and more numerous force that does tend to happen

  • Sounds rather blurred to me. We intentionally kill enemy combatants, and by comparison they dont stand a chance. Theres a reason most of the casuatlies we take are from IEDs and not from actual firefights. Our guys are really good at clearing buildings and taking out snipers. The IEDS are nearly undetectable. Thankfully we're seeing a drop in casualties acrossed the board.

  • Well Iraq has been a suprisingly modest conflict, people like to over emotionalise and dramatise the things that do happen, the IEDs are generally the worst of it. But its to be expected with the radicals blending in with our forces. All things considered though Iraq is shaping up quite nicely from a military stand point.

  • i just want to say that what this debate entails is exactly what that guy who wrote "Starship Troopers" is trying to tell us...

    Throwing it out there....

  • True dat. Plus, the more survivors, the more experienced men at your disposal.

  • Trying to limit losses is always practical though. Means you expended less lives&resources to achieve an objective, those that survived improved with experience, and cuts down on the widows and bereaved families clamoring for an end to the war. Plus, in strategy games, it satisfies my sense of efficiency and strokes my ego.

  • Oh theres no arguing that its good to limit casualties where possible. Which is why im really pissed that a lot of the advanced armors and weapons are not being purchased and produced for our forces (namely the snake skin armor and the new super soldier kit.)

  • I hate that the robot was destroyed. It would have been great if he stayed on as a regular character, but alas, T'Phai is to take that position as the non-human squad member.

  • you guys notice it always goss getting hurt.

  • yep

  • why coulden't they keep the robot. i mean a robot that learns to trash talk the enemy would be sweet

  • I am out of ammo, lol, if it wasnt for that mine, it was gonna be a melee battle lol

  • They needed C.H.A.S. to serve as the token likable character that gets it, so they can drive home the sense that good people die in wars.

  • we can rebuild him, we have the technology. c.h.a.s was a worthy abc warrior ( Atomic/Biological/Chemical ) ass kicker

  • oh man

    Chas was an awnsome robot.....:(

  • if i was chas i would kill them all

  • hmmm any one noticed that the roughnecks have lost most of there equipement every time on a mission... no wonder they dont get much guns or stuff like CHAS

    DAM YOU HIGGINS!

  • *cries* chas WHY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

  • man, when chas ran out of amo he slapped those bugs like a seasoned pimp discipline his workers!

  • lol

  • Chas is cool

  • Damn, chas was a good robot.

  • awesome. burn the heretic who dislikes this series.

  • Hell yes.

    "Nobody expects the Roughneck Inquisition!

Our cheif weapon is suprise, surprise and fear! Two! Our TWO weapons are fear, suprise, and ruthless efficency. No wait, THREE! Our THREE cheif weapons are suprise, fear, ruthless efficiancy...and nice green power armor. NO WAIT, FOUR..."

(It's a Monty Python joke for all you uneducated people out there...)

  • wait...if CHAS wasn't broken in the first blast it used against the giant blister bug why he die in mine blasts??? lol

  • ehhh blast x 20 times its a chain reaction :P

    that explain your answer?

  • CHAS is perfect weapon it protects everyone else, kills all the bugs quickly, and it helped Jenkins by getting of the sniper

  • CHAS SPEEDH4X+AIMBOTS OMFGZZ

    HE GOT BANNED BY ADMIN

but yea... he was pretty awesome, shame to see him go

  • What's their problem, with CHAS? He is not thinking as a human, but he always saves their lives-so why are they complaining?

  • "When bringing up the rear, it is your responsibility to be aware of enemy activity." That's CHAS's way of saying, "Who's the supersoldier now, meatbag?!"

  • How strange...

CHAS is apparently not under the three laws of Robotics. The programmer must have obviously never read Asimov...

  • "CHAS is apparently not under the three laws of Robotics. "

Why do you say that? Because it didnt want to help, uh whatshisface?

Maybe it follows the Zeroth Law more than any other law? Since it IS a military robot.

  • Well, the first law is that he cannot harm, or, through inaction, allow a human to come to harm. The Zeroth law is simply an extension of the first law that applies to humanity as a whole. Simply ignoring a human soldier is, in effect, a violation of both.

  • He might have thought that one soldier is an acceptable loss to save humanity against the Bugs, violating the First Law, but not the Zeroth Law.

  • Why does'nt CHAS just ject[ack of the mine?

  • once again Goss gets hit...that guy has bad luck!

  • good line,

Higgins: get out of her or we're both daed

Chas: No, private Higgins, i was never alive to begin with

  • the line is "I was never alive." the movie is right there, how could you mess up and misquote it?

  • i wanna see their robot vs the robot from robocop 2, or terminator, or robocop himself, but mainly him vs robocop 2 robot.

  • I thought the weapon under his left arm was a flamethrower

  • ooooh rico got shut down by CHAS. lol hahahha he deserves it though

  • in the 6th part i think i saw a starwars tauntaun

  • That whole mine scence was dumb, some werent burried, bugs woulda set them off, chain reaction woulda started way sooner, and you never place mines so that they chain react!... chas shoulda lived..

  • Once again, would cost too much to the animators if he lived and kept on murderizing for the federation. He just has to go on in our hearts as one of the Coolest CG robot ever to grace late night kids TV.

"Scanners?" "Skinnies aren't big on metal parts..."

For FOOK sake, CHAS mapped the thing less the four seconds.

  • I think he said something about using old factory parts too map them, i dont know how that makes sense, but if anyone could do it.. it would be CHAS... *sniff*

  • olfactory, means he could smell 'em

  • Never get a Trooper to do a CG robot's job. *Grins*

  • amen!

  • i almost cried

  • Me too. Anyone has tissue?

  • In giving his life he became a roughneck Live forever apes

  • roughnecks ho!

  • This is the saddest episode. He gave his life to save theres.

  • chaz why???? Xl

  • Because it was the most expensive to produce.

  • CHAZ NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!

  • poor C.H.A.Z *sniff*
