  • those kids are pittiful..,

  • i see some indian here in the philippines..they so kind..

  • they are going crazy over a video camera ....

  • this is the real india

  • @kashif1510 No actually it isn't. To say this is the real india is to state that any ghetto or infamously notorious area of any metropolitan city is the definition of that place. Majority of india is comprised of middle class people just like everywhere else in the world. Dharavi is very much apart of india and it's reality. It does not define india not one single thing can. Places like this exist everywhere in the this world it is important to acknowledge them and try to help not say sillyness

  • Why the fuck am I watching this shit ?

  • Doesn't that look the friendliest ghetto in the world?

  • I don’t why he went there want exactly he wants to prove? Because i am sure there are many more good places in Mumbai to see than this, u can go anywhere in this world u want to but showing some shady of some city and going there to make fun some poor people is not at all done and people are commenting on safety being poor is not crime and they too are human being.

  • ERADICATE POVERTY FROM INDIA BY BEING BACHELORS OR SINGLE

  • amazing video, I really like it, but just one question who is your friend with the camera???, he's the most gorgeous guy I ever see, I'm in love with him haha sorry

  • What did you seek honestly when you went to the slum? to get a few videos and become popular with friends online and offline? relate to them? educate the world? feel cool like one would after visitng an aquarium? just curious what drove you there and what you felt after you came back.

  • @akshaysree: I felt overwhelmed when I came out of Dharavi... I went there to experience all aspects of indian culture... from the Lakmé fashionweek afterparty to Dharavi... and maybe I put the movie online to educate any potential viewer... I really dont understand all the fuss on this comments page...

  • @akshaysree Well i have the answer to your question mate, the slums are part Mumbai and part of the real life in many cities in India. There are so many people that travel to see the reality, not just to go to Goa for party and enjoy the sun.Poverty is an important issue in India and I highly recommend to see and go to the Slums if you have the cojones as it is gonna make you realize how lucky we are in Western society in terms of poverty.

  • indian people love white peoples.. but i dont knw why they hate indians.. i am not in india by the way before you shoot any hate msg to me

  • the children are beautiful. well going to Dharavi it is one of the poorest slums so what did you expect @ bingo191. Have you ever visited downtown Chicago, downtown Miami or New York city, you wont see anything different? Every country is poor and rich, you better respect that!

  • haha those indians never seen a white person before. or technology.

  • @bingo191 hahahhahaha

    u know who created Zero..

well u wanna know more just google it!

    Cunt!

  • Is there not a problem with violence and safety? I mean, I'd love to go there, but if it is as safe as some neighborhoods where I live, then there's no way I would go... If you've been there and care to comment about this please do

  • I guess safe is a relative term... after 45 min. in the area we were warned and told to leave... but nothing happened - all in all a very positive and exciting experience...

  • @NicolasJTafur It's SLUM. Of course there is a problem with violence and safety. I do not understand why you are saying that you would love to go there as if it's some sort of resort or something.

  • I like the music. It sounds like new age techno. What is the name of the song and who is the music artist?

  • Happiness by Superpitcher

  • Thanks for the info. I really like the music but somehow it doesn't match the video.

  • im going to india and specifically mumbai in july as part of our travelling...

im from a really nice part of the world. a clean, middle class village in the home counties, just outside of london.

i really dont know how im gonna react/handle all that kind of attention. i think id be a bit paranoid as well as overwhelmed.

the slums are a must see in india, so it has to be done i guess....

  • How ur gonna handle? u think juss cuz u come from a nice part of the world they gonna be like looking up to u... hellz no man they gonna come to u for money... im indian from america and i go to india almost every year n they do nt look up to u when u go there there not gonna be like omg a white dude or a indian from a richer part.. they gonna be liek omg rich ppl lets try to get money..... i Always donate to them no matte wat

  • allright ....calm down dickhead.

i said i dont know how im gonna hanlde all the poverty and begging because i never see it in my life. i am blissfully ignorant to all this....

why would i assume that becasue im from a nice area they would look up to me?

my sister is in mumbai at the moment, and a close friend has been there a couple of times. they both have said that it is a real culture shock when it comes to beggars... that what i was saying.

so get off your high horse, moron.

  • Ignore the beggars, you can't help them all.

Overall you will be welcomed by a warm, friendly, and open people.

For a comprehensive, safe tour of the Dharavi slum, contact Reality Tours and Travel in Mumbai's Fort District. They are known and welcomed in Dharavi. Spend some money in their shops.

  • I've just got back from 2 months in India, spent 10 days in Bombay and walked through the slums. Unlike what 'ThaFranchise93' said, you CANT give them money. Reach for your wallet and literally hundreds will come. Sounds harsh but just ignore the beggars and despite the poverty it is safe, although keep an eye out for pickpockets. If you want to give, buy food/water to give, not money. Plus NEVER pay the set price, be brutal in negotiating ;)

Where in Bombay are you staying?

  • yeah right were does it say that t has 300,000 per squar kilometer besides the video description

  • over 1,000,000 ppl live in the slums of mumbai.. and the slum is probably the size of central park in NYC

  • Good video! Bad music.

  • dude... din the guy get robbed or something coz hez easily flashing his expensive camera !!! not a very smart thing to do in the slums anywhere around the world....

  • they dont kno it a expensive camara.... they think its old due to the size...... they would be more into it if it was a skinny singy camara ... n they on him cuz he white n they think he rich

  • ive walked thru there myself. i cant believe how much they are fascinated by cameras and white poeple.

  • awesome
