  • Where was that dog during the killings? could of bit Texs leg or somthing..

  • @bexcpfc Please put rudi altobelli into the search bar and click the first vid and it will prove you whole comment was wrong..sorry

  • The gray box attached to telephone pole at 2:30 contained the unused phone to communicate with the main house from the gate. Like an intercom. It's wire and the wire for regular phone service were cut by Watson when he climbed the pole with a bolt cutter. On the left as you were facing the gate was first the pole, then the gate button, and then the red mailbox. You could push the button to open the gate then pull forward in your car to grab the mail and then enter.

  • I heard that Jay Leno and his wife where looking to buy a house at one time, Their agent took them up to the orginal house 10050 Cielo Dr. They both fell in love with the house and grounds. They were considering buying it, until it was revealed that it was the house that SharonTate and the others were murdered in.They immediately changed their minds at that point. He later refered to it as the Manson House. It was a beautiful house but with a ugly history. It's a shame they tore it down.

  • The barking dog at the gate is Rudy's dog "Lady", my special little friend. We also had Christopher, Gemma and Fettuccini. I might well have been inside when theis video was shot. Rudy regretted selling this house until the day he died. We discussed it countless times. Amazing the way things in life change, and how quicky people & things come and go without a trace. That's why we should treasure every moment of friendship and appreciate the temporary use of worldly possessions.

  • Being ricih doesn't mean you have taste or style. What passes for talent these days would be laughable 50 years ago. Come to think of it....it's laughable now.

  • @Handiman544 man i couldnt agree with ya more on the talent thing!!

  • where was the real secuity that just dont make no sense why they didnt have dogs and human to potect that place barb wire and all oh that right it was a free time so sad that could have save them

  • @hudsonaable the gun used to kill parent, sebring, and frykowsky was known to jam. its a shame it didnt jam when watson fired at parent, maybe he could have peeled out and ran over watson and the girls!!

  • absolute madness to knock the original down, it was still be rented in the early 90's. The house and the grounds were stunning!

  • So sad...

  • I think that when the house that the manson murders happened at was dismantled they should have built a memorial to Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, and Steven Parent. as well as to Leno, and Rosemary LaBianca. even though these later two were not murdered in this home, but were murdered by the same people as the victims of the cielo drive murders.

  • @imperatorcaesar100 It was somebody elses house, Rudy Autobelli's. He never recouped his losses on the property, I know it's a cynical way to look at it, but the house ruined his life. He even had to get Roman to pay to have the house redecorated and industrially cleaned. He had really bad luck trying to get rid of the house for the next 20 years, it was hardly lived in. I think knocking it down was the right idea as it would only attract tours of fans.

  • @bexcpfc Yes you are right. I forgot that Roman Polanski, and Sharon Tate were renting the house from him.

  • Its true I've been in that house, it wasn't particularily amusing, just some washed up Hollywood writer living there now.

  • I think i have posted this before..sorry, but if the "dogs" were out that night, instead of being locked up in the guest house...it is proclaimed that these murders never would have happened as Charlie said they were "never to kill an animal"...maybe a sealed fate? What if there were the dogs out and 10 more people there? Fate and destiny is all i can see..and let's hope ALL sealed their fate when they answer to a higher power...Susan Atkins already got hers in life, hope its worth in her death

  • @tyamster Sharon had just adopted a kitten and locked the dogs up, otherwise, things may have been different, however, Tex Watson probably would have shot the dogs.

  • @tyamster I agree. I am glad the bitch had her leg amputated. In addition, they all find "Jesus" in prison. I didn't realize he lived in prison. All convicts say that just to get out. Poor Sharon and the others. Linda Kasabian should have run to the next house and called the police. Coward.

  • @chucksummer Very fitting that atkins cunt died of brain cancer like Sharon's Mother Doris. I just hope Susan's was slow and painful and that the prison doctors shorted her on her morphine so as to optimize suffering. Heartless fucking twat, I hope she suffers eternally. They all blame Tex but Doris Tate always said she "knew" Susan was the one that actually did Sharon >;'(

  • Actually the "house of the death" was destroied...

  • Sharon pinned up her large dogs before the attack.

  • @GeneB1992 ummmmmmm....NOT!

  • @GeneB1992 she didnt have a large dog, she had a yorkie

  • ITS AMAZING NOBODY HEARD ANYTHING,THERE ARE HOUSES ALL AROUND THERE

  • @vikings844 oh, people heard. People heard gunshots, the screams of Steven Parent, and dogs barking. But they didn't think to check 10050. And Garretson, of course, heard, too. But being the coward he was he hid in the closet of the guesthouse.

  • @nilesdoopenshnoff garretson was one weird dude! i never knew he hid in the closet! where did u find that information out?

  • @vikings844 yes people heard and even called police to report what "sounded like" gunfire. But unfortunately, they lived in a canyon and sounds bounce off the walls so pinpointing was impossible or so it was said. One comment in the book Helter Skelter was a neighbor said it was so quiet that night you could hear the ice cubes clinking in ur neighbors glasses. Plus it was in the middle of a heatwave which left most w/windows open. which still poses the ? why weren't those dogs going crazy!

  • i want to buy that property, demolish that house, and reconstruct the old one.

sharon's house was probably the most beautiful house i've ever seen.

  • @technopatheticx3 I feel the same!! Only if we had the money!! LOL!

  • @technopatheticx3 I feel the same!! Only if we had the money!! LOL!

  • @technopatheticx3 I couldnt agree more!!!! that was a beautiful home!!!!!! there is actually a house down the the canyon with the same "structure"....unfortunately they have divided the property and whisked away with any way to rebuild it as it was...i hear they are making a new movie though....would love to be on that set!

  • Garretson was a pothead and was high as a kite that night, the San Francisco Earhtquake probably wouldn't have woken him up or aroused his curiosity.

The last interview I saw of him he looked about 10 years older than his age which was due to all the drug use I'm sure.

  • i couldnt have said it better, even though something horrific happened there, that house was beautiful,if i had money i would build me one like it, not out of anything morbid but just because i really like that arquitecture, also someone made a comment about the dogs being there, i will go to my grave thinking that there is something fishy about garretson's story , im not saying he did it but that he had to have heard something, actually i think he did but just didnt wanna investigate.

  • @dntlss Garretson was a stoner and was probably blazed.

  • Tyamster... If only the dogs were outside... I know they had a Weimeraner.. which might look a bit scary if you approached the gate. But what other dogs did they have... fluffly little ones or guard dogs like the german shepherds in the pic that might of made a difference.

  • Well I'm from Scotland where the Dunblane massacre took place at Dunblane Primary school in 1995. 16 school children & there school teacher shot by a bastard called Thomas Hamilton, & this in a country where virtually no ones owns a gun, it took place in the gymnasium, I think it entirely appropriate that the gym was knocked down, & I think the same goes for Sharon's house, it seems to me very inappropriate to keep a house where such a terrible atrocity was committed standing.

  • @Gersroolz - my cousin lived in a flat in Cardiff not knowing a young girl lay buried in the backgarden wrapped in carpet for 5 years (the murder was later solved and the place still stands) I agree with you, I mean dont get me wrong the murder was not in the same league in terms of gruesomeness as the massacre in Dunblane BUT a murder has occoured all the same......

  • @garyj79 Aye Gary, the evil soul of man, five years old & put through that, the wee soul.

  • @garyj79 in the house right behind the house I grew up in, the wife was shot by the husband and buried in the crawlspace for 2 years. He said she ran away. I was friends with the youngest son, was IN that house many times while she was buried there. Pretty creepy.

  • have to agree with all the recent comments...the house now there is hideous, why was the old house demolished, it was beautiful. Such a shame what happened, no wonder Polanski went all weird.

  • @TheTimmyH they demolished it prob because they couldn't sell it. It sat empty for years.

  • @Bhav341 The residence was actually damaged to the point that it would have cost more to repair than it was worth (the house, not the property itself) after the 1994 Earthquake right after Trent Reznor moved out). Peace

  • p.s. if ANY of the dogs were out that night...the murders never would have happened..Charlie would never have let an "animal" die. sick but ironic!

  • @tyamster Linda Kasabian apparently cried the time she was taken back there to reconstruct the crime ... she said something about if only the dogs were there that night.

  • @MissGreenie. But the dogs were ALL there. At least 3. They were in w/ the caretaker, whose story still doesn't make a lot of sense. My dog growls if someone is walking down the street, how did none of these dogs not react to their masters being slaughtered less than 500 ft away? Or when Krenwinkle tried the door? The house looked big but was actually quite small. You can see the original house at dailymotiondotcom. bad filming but gives u an idea of distance.

  • @tyamster if you do check out the website type in cielo drive video tour. should narrow down the search.

  • @tyamster yeah, you are right. my dog goes ballistic at 3am if a deer walks thru my property. There is no way those dogs did not react to what was going on...unless they were smoking pot too.

  • @Bhav341 something even stranger is the caretaker said the night all this went down he hitchhiked down the canyon to get something to eat and the ride he hitched back up in said to him when they dropped him off, "I wouldn't go back in there if i was you"...how scary is that. Never identified who it was that dropped him off but it wasn't any of the Manson clan. Maybe someone with insane intuition. very bizzare.

  • god what i would give to be able to go back in time to look at la during the 60's and 70's !

  • @patton223 man what i would have done to go back in time and buy this house in as early as 1994. Not for the mayhem but it was a one of a kind home and i think if the owner lived there for 20 years (after the murders) plus NIN living and recording there with only "minimal" spooky stuff, why did they have to destroy a part of American History...

  • That hideous piece of shit they put up is no match for the understated beauty of the original house. Everything they consider upscale now is a gaudy mess. Money does not buy taste.

  • @DA90027: SO WELL PUT! I couldn't have said it better.

  • @DA90027 yes but to keep the old house up would just attract people who would want to vandalize, or camp out/perty in, etcc.........not sure any houses should be there...

  • The house was horrible to live in after the murders - lots of wierdos showing up all the time - who wants to live inside a big fence with signs telling warning people to stay away? No thanks.

  • @Gwyka Yep. And changing the house number/address didn't fool anyone.

  • Sharon's house was a lot better than the monstrosoudy that's there now.

  • Some areas of 10050 were very nice and others needed some attention. The original house should have been turned into a bed & breakfast, cuz if you had the bread you could of had the breakfast. Rudy would have made a lot more than the 1.6 million he got for it in 1989.

  • @Dannatiporci55 - maybe Susan Atkins lived in the house at the time? I mean she was a 'dog' wasnt she.......

  • @garyj79 she was a prostitute,not a dog.

  • @alexthebullo well she was kind of both really cos no woman should grow a mustache......it was also in reply to dannatiporci55 who I have a feeling is a Manson 'supporter'

  • @garyj79 she is a dead dog now...hopefully rotting in hell where she belongs!

  • @tyamster - so I hear....I think all murderers tyamster should rot in hell personally.........some have committed attrocities that make the Manson murders seem quite tame believe it or not !

  • In watching this again, you would have thought Rudi Altobelli would have put up a new fence and gate, very shabby for Bel Air !

  • @mansfield67 Too bad the barbed wire wasn't there on August 8, 1969, so the murderous ghouls could have gotten their skin ripped up....

  • Yes, Lan35 is right, that is the twin house at 10048 Cielo Dr. It was built at the same time as 10050. Since the Tate house was torn down and that hideous mansion was built in it's place, the twin house has undergone extensive remodeling, you can see it on Google Earth.

  • yeah thanks for that - thought that was odd - a mini Cielo drive!

  • Lan35 is right. That is the twin home down the hill from Ms Tate's house.

  • obviously after the murders, but with the shot from distance onto 10050 Cielo -where were the mature trees in front of the house you can see the pond up the far end but no trees??

  • the house with out the large trees in front of it is the twin house further down the hill i think

  • Great footage ,thx for posting.
