  • great singing but why is she smiling half the time????

  • @trumansf I guess it's the combination of the way she produces her voice (opera singing often does something funny to the singer's face) and her Slavic sentiment (the aria is so gorgeously melancholy it sort of turns her on a bit). ;o)

  • @trumansf It's the technique, based on bel canto. By keeping the face animated -- especially the nostrils flared and the eyebrows up, she keeps the uvula elevated and the back of the throat open. This allows for flexibility of the line and keeps the vowels towards the front of the mouth, which is always a problem with singers who are not native Italian or Spanish speakers.

  • @trumansf

perhaps she don't understand the italian language? :)

  • Morgen, 13.06.2011 gibt sie ein Konzert in Berlin (Konzerthaus, 20 Uhr) !!!

Tomorrow she is in concert in Berlin (Konzerthaus, 13.06.2011) !!!

  • @documentaryscene I hope you are attending (and coming back to tell us how it went afterward, too)! ;o)

  • Sublime, simple perfection.

  • Beautiful bassoon playing. Even at that slow tempo, the bassoon and Kasarova are able to hold the tension. If anything, they relish it and really capture the grief that prince Ariodante feels on hearing (believing) that Ginevra has been unfaithful.

  • very good job Kasarova......good voice and very very good interpretation

  • The tempo is indescribably slow... It's impossible to listen. Somebody should have woken up the conductor...

  • @serenaluce Or absolutely authentic. Relish it. Revel, and have patience. It is possible to hear every figure, and the beauty of the voice isn't sacrificed to a frantic listener's heartbeat. Sustaining phrases is an art only practiced by the select few, and those phrases are beautiful in their intensity. Cudos to the lady. It is elegant, and emotional, and pure, and takes only the time it needs to take. Do not rush perfection.

  • i love Kasarova, but what stroke me at first was the colour of the orchestra, excellent. Still, Tempo a bit faster would be good.

  • good!!!

  • I like this!

  • I really miss the sense of the heartbeat at this tempo!!! It sounds as if someone is about to have a heart attck... much better at a quicker tempo. COME ON NOW!!

  • @tenorissimo26 It is obvious you don't have a clue.
