Remember the old widow, Jesus said she has given everything. So, our lives and properties, all of them are to be shared with God. That means, if our brothers and sisters in Christ does not have a car to go for something important, desperately in need, you have to let him or her use your car unconditionally. Love is the key commandment here. Since we love God so much, we also should love those that love God at the same degree. That is how God's love works among us. It goes beyond 10 commandment.
@ csmdeg:You are saying, albeit very politely, that only those who share your faith are deserving of your help. The bible does seem to have that attitude... but if a neighbor of another faith was unable to make it to the hospital for a medical treatment that they would die without, by saying "Since we love God so much, we also should love those that love God at the same degree", you imply that you wouldn't help. Though I don't know you, I don't think I believe that you would let that happen.

The Average American gives on avg about .1% to charity. i do not think we are in danger of being decieved into giving beyond our ability.
Give & give Cheerfully. I think you might be better serving to report to those who claim to Love God, on how to give more cheerfully.
