ONLY MY OPPINION

This soccer A.I is still based on rules and conditions. it might have randomness factor based on odds (XX% what is best way to play or XX% to do something) but it doesnt make the A.I think completely by it self... it's about what team builds it better... the rules = what to do based on when to do. this happens a lot in pc games. also I find out in the vid that goalkeeper reacts only when the football is moving... this means it cannot predict where the football goes.

Ok, yeah... That won't happen. The amount of money, effort and labour that would be needed to achieve winning a soccermatch against the world cup champions with robots within 50 years, is just totally unrealistic. Not to mention computing power. To quote Professor Michio Kaku; "Our most advanced comuters and robots of today operates at the level of a lobotomized, retarded cockroatch." I for one believe him. Just look at Windows Vista (hurr hurr). But seriously, I have no faith in that happening

The one thing that always bothered me with "BattleBots" and "Robot Wars" and the like is that those machines out there shredding each other with saw blades and such ARE NOT ROBOTS. They are remote-controlled vehicles.

THESE are robots. No, you don't have the flying sparks and stuff getting bashed and bursting into flame, but they ARE robots, and I'd like to see more.

Somebody should start a robot fighting league that uses real robots. They probably weren't sophisticated enough for that even five years ago, but I think it would work now.

What those robots lack is refinement. For example another robot cannot predict much if other robot just comes and fires the ball. Humans have more motion, legwork and such so you can try to predict what is going to happen. Also those robots are more like bricks, not like human players, so it seems like bricks playing, too. Also if robots had like limited amount of energy to spend, they could try to preserve some or go full speed at times.

That's a good thing. The robots give their all the entire game. What more can you ask for? Passion is just the drive to succeed. That can drive to win can be programmed into a robot, and the distractions a person would face can be easily ignored by a robot.

srry i ran out of words.. and we will be pushing them to do newer and newr stuff and soon they will be programing the robots but it will never be perfect we will still need to oversee the work they do

becasue if they make a mistake and start makeing evil robots we have to shut them down befor they are evne programed

my prediction that technology would be developing even faster than it did in the past 30 years. More than that, i truly believe that robot soccer team will beat humans in the future (around 40-50 years from now) same as chess champ kasparov was defeated by comp 10 years ago.
