How do you decide between hdfh and hdfx mode (or hdlp or hdhq for that matter)? I have a Sony HDR and have iMovie 08 but might need 09 or might wait for 11' when it comes. My goal is to get videos to YouTube at 1080p. Thanks much.
This camera is awesome, the only thing I dont like is that imovie08 doesnt export my movies in full HD. I guess this will be resolved in the near future by apple. other than that I really like this camera.
how did you upload the clips? cuz when i plug my camera in, all it does is open iphoto and ask to import the photos and when i open imovie up, i cant import any clips
Man, I told you what I do. "What I do is close iphoto and then open imovie 08... It should bring the importing screen. Thats what I do." I think a good idea would be to give a visit to the apple forums and see if someone else over there have had the same problems as you. If that doesnt work, take your camera to your nearest apple store, Im sure one of the apple specialist will gladly help you out. Sorry I cannot be more helpful
Disappointed of HDR-CX7: 1.Extreme pixilation. Camera is highly pixilated you follow a moving subject. Something like bricks, on the edges of the moving subject. 2.Poor software and incompatible HD format. You need to buy iLife8, separate, to get the HD format
is it me, or is the video a little "choppy" during fast sequences. Is all the video like this? Iwanna get this camcorder, but am not sure now. thanks!
Sorry I was out of town. That choppyness is imovie 08's fault. I still need to do some other tests since this was my first quick try at It. The real HD quality is outstanding. I recommend you this site, (hdr-cx7 . blogspot . com) where you can download lots of high definition video samples from this camera.
do you see a big improvement in this cam then whatever one you used before i dont know and i can't compare because of youtube crappy quality should i get this camera?

This looks better if you add &fmt=18 at the end of the URL, then press the resize button (bottom right, left button, not full screen)

I press "Computer" thats what makes iphoto to open.
