Hi , in this video I use a fender jazz bass '77 swamp ash / maple , DR strings hi-beam 45 105 ( maybe 40-100 ) , bad ass bridge , mxr m-80 bass d.i. ( effect on , distortion channel with blend in central position and gain at 1 , eq in flat ) trough gallien kruegger 1001 rb II ( all flat ) and hartke 4.5 xl cabinet ....

Paice could have kept that up for an hour, and do a different fill on every measure. He's extremely inventive, instinctive, and soulfull. And yes, he is my all time favorite drummer, and strongest influence. I simply can't imagine Deep Purple without him.

is that ian paice also one of my favs; solo on deep purples made in japan 'the mule' kicks ass. i bought a vid or 2 w ians drums set up like this; fun looking toms! seems like he just has them there for show never seen ian hit em. i think id feel like jumping all over those toms! of course hes just grooving here. great bass playing i also used to play bass a lot w records i had the whole 'all the worlds a stage down'rush. wonder if i can still do it.
