  • johnny cash "gods gonna cut you down" is also a good song listen to it

  • Just Bought Got the movie in the mail from netflix i might just keep it its too good of a movie to give it back.

  • You can't walk no line!!

  • Great movie, great covers...

  • Whenever he sang any song in the movie, the only thought going through my head was "Oh hot damn."

  • I like him better than Johnny Cash himself!

  • @steve9893 Joaquin Phoenix is the BEST

  • Originally they were gonna dub his singing for that film as he couldn't get his voice low enough until like 5minuets before filming he managed to get this nice deep sound.

  • joaquin did an amazing job, the movie gives me chills

  • Brings TEARS to my eyes-Joaquin's OSCAR-WINNING PERFORMANCE Deserved so much more credit than they were willing to give him!!! Who else can deliver the strong, DEEP voice that J.P. brought to this performance? Joaquin Phoenix, one of the BEST. Johnny Cash would be soooooooo Proud of Joaq today....

  • @Kingarigold actually, my aunt told me that Joaquin was complimented by Johnny Cash... (:

  • @saxophonegirl101 i think she may have actually meant his son, John Carter Cash, because when the movie was made Johnny Cash had passed away 2 years before, but his son was a producer on the film :)

  • the song is actually "walk the line"

  • 8 people were too drunk to walk a line.

  • Johnny Cash would be proud of Joaquin Phoenix for his performance.

  • Nobody nowadays can't walk a damn line anymore

  • ERA TAN LINDO *_*

  • Yes, I'll Admit That Im a Fool For You.

    Because Your Mine.

    I Walk The Line<3

  • 7 people dont walk the line

  • Reasons I love J.C. songs: Lyrics easy to learn. F*cking good vibrations. His voice. The way it makes me feel...

Thumbs up if you think the same :)

  • Because your mine i walk the line

  • Joaquin Phoenix sings it better! LOL!

  • @mangledinal I totally agree!

  • Johnny does this better, no lie. But Joaquin is pretty close to Johnny, and that's good enough for me. What a song!!

  • joaquin is amazing sounds almost just like johnny and he was so into character him and reese are awesome

  • i can't believe he didn't win the oscar, i was heartbroken.

  • What really annoys me is that no matter what i do i just can't hit that low note at the end! HELP!!!!!

  • Type "Ranj Catch 22" if you wanna hear a cool song!

  • I CANT STOP LISTENING TO THIS SONG!!! :)

  • So good I had to try something. Managing to perfectly sync two then three separate windows all of this same page with the three playing perfectly with each other. Hearing him three times in a unison sounds really cool and has made me start testing this with some other things. At least we know he can do a solo act or in a trio when cloning catches up with the movies. ^^

  • This may sound strange, but I feel like this song applies to me and my obsession with learning. I don't care about relationships; all I care about is knowledge and education. If you listen to this song and pay attention to the lyrics, and think about them in the context of one person being "in love" with learning, it all actually makes a lot of sense.

  • hes so good man he needs an oscar for this

  • love the cover, one thing that is better than the original is that the bass has more of a punch, but cant compare to the man in black.

  • His version is better than the original :S

  • he could seriously pull off a country album

  • i daresay this may be better than the original

  • @PullThenTake it aint he should just do rap

  • Hey! I am French and I find the movie " Walk the line " really very well! I am a big fan of Johnny Cash

  • phoenix has an amazing voice for this song

  • I don't think they could have found a better actor to play the legendary Johnny Cash.

  • All hail to the Man in Black Johnny Cash.

  • joaquin is better

  • @steve9893 well say!

  • johnny cash & joaquin phoenix rule!

  • Hello everyone I probilly shouldent say this, I like this as much as The Man In Black Johnny Cash. Joaquin Phoenix is the closest thing we will ever get to The Man In Black Jonnny Cash, he should truly get into country music. To revive traditional country music. Joaquin Phoenix was personally trained by Johnny Cash. HA SOOKKA! As Johnny was know to say. In all respect rest quietly Man In Black Jonnny Cash & June Carter Cash, now you can wear pure white upon your backs your task was done. J.G.R.

  • Olá, amigo! estou enviando um video do meu trabalho espero que goste, pois fiz com carinho obrigado.

Forte abraço e fique com Deus.

    Att.....Juvenil.

  • i got the laryngitis

  • Joaquin sings great..way better looking too..

  • @pyramid8 Joaquin sings great and I admit he is good looking. But better looking then Johnny Cash? No way. Although I'm straight I'd turn gay instantly for Johnny Cash. He was a tall, heavy built guy (check pics of him in his younger days) and he had style. He allways wore nice clothes and combed his hair like a real man. Still talking of him in his younger days, during the Sun Records years before the drugs made him very thin. His cheekbones were very visible. Poor guy. But he was good looking,

  • joaquin is gorgeous!!!

  • awesome love joaquin phoenix- he sings this song better

  • chicka boom

  • I like this version but i think there's too much reverb on his voice in this version.

  • No disrespect to Jonny Cash, but I like this song sung by Joaquin. He right on cue and so is the music.

  • @sonofthunderof7 bottom sucks

  • @103193WasAGoodDay He doesnt suck....he does a very good impersonation of Johnny cash. Give credit when its due.

  • I think Joaquin sings this song better than Johnny, no disrepect. He's right on cue and the music that goes along with it.

  • Got to admit though he does do himself credit

  • Put it this way: sometimes I want to hear Johnny's version - but sometimes I genuinely prefer to listen to Joaquin. Obviously, no one can replace the man in black, but Phoenix adds his own unique touch and damn he does it well.

  • I actually prefer Phoenix's version, maybe just because it is more modern sounding.

  • @justdoit55 I feel you. It makes us blasphemers though.

  • Joaquin did a good job !

  • 1:38 - here he looks like Johnny Cash. Really. Look at his eyes.

  • No one sings like Johnny Cash, agree. But Joaquin Phoenix, is the only one who's near.

  • Nobody can compare too Johnny, but i'll tell You what Joaquin didn't do a bad job.

  • his voice is steady like a train sharp like razor

  • I Love the movie "Walk the line" - and Joaquins performances are just great- of course not Johnny s unforgetable voice, but still very good..

  • @steve9893 very true

  • I like the Johnny Cash version much much more, but it always sounds nice to hear it delivered by Joaquin. Like a change of pace

  • I like the Johnny Cash version much much more, but it always sounds nice to hear it delivered by Joaquin

  • Love you Joaquin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • in that last pucture joaquin looks justttt like johnny

  • this is so much better id rather here this 10 times before id want to hear the old one cash sings the lyrics to fast

  • @EarthAngel916 Give me a break, when you write a song don'y you get to decide how fast you sing it? Nice tribute but nothing beats the original.

  • when i saw the movie i walk the line i just kept on watching it over and over it is an awesome movie lol i like his and june's he is awesome but they couldnt have gotten better people to do johnny and june than joaqin phioenix and reese witherspoon in the movie.

  • He was amazing in Walk the line.

  • to me, he sounds better then the actual Johnny Cash

  • @Johnnylibenzon Nah its just better sound quality

  • @XxDEMONSxHALFBACKCKx oh yeah that's true...

  • Loved the film!

  • No offense on Cash but man, you gotta say this sounds almost as good as he ever did.

  • Joaquin Phoenix did a great job. He sounds a bit like Johnny Cash, it's great.

  • Of course he cannot sing like Johnny Cash did! No one can!

But I really appreciate that he and Reese sang the songs and I think they've done it quite well although they are not singers!

  • Oh, if anyone want to see the documentary it's called: "The Unauthorized Biography of Johnny Cash". I think it's 8 parts. For those of you who have not seen it yet, I truly suggest you do it! Did you know that the first message to the west (United States) about the death of Russian dictator Josef Stalin in 1953 was actually sent from a decrypting machine in Germany. The man who decrypted the message was no other than Johnny Cash, during his Airforce service in Germany.. :)

  • Hey every actor playing another reallife actor/singer knows that they are there to do their best. Joaquin went in with that in mind and did a fantastic job as Johnny Cash! I can totally agree with everyone saying he can't sing better then the real deal but so what? Joaquins acting and singing is remarkable! Although after having seen a documentary about Cash's life (it's up on youtube in parts) I can see that much things were left out. He truly lived an extraordinary life, RIP Man in Black...

  • johnny is better but who are these 3 people who dislike this

  • thanks to this music and movie, my grandson little JR has been playing and singing along,he plays these over and over, rock on my boy.

  • Joaquin's singing and songs are more of a tribute to the greatness that was J.R Cash. We can all appreciate the great effort he made to create fantastic music in the memory of Mr. Cash while still maintaining that the original Man in Black can never be replaced. They're both great artists in their own right and both have enormous talent, and we should appreciate both equally in my opinion.

I love this song, anyway. It's one of my favorites, by both men.

  • ok everyone, Joaquin's version is brilliant and he was the perfect choice for Johnny. but none the less he isn't Johnny and he never will be. you can't beat johnny cash.

  • Gotta admit, this was really good..Didn't think JP could pull off such a Cash classic, but he did..Great job.

  • johnny and joaquin for me both are the best...

  • Joaquin is pretty good but as far as I'm concerned Johnny Cash was to singing what Picasso was to painting

  • Joaquin Phonix is the shit compared to fucking sorry ass Johnny Cash!

  • Phoenix is perfect for Cash. The only 2 people that could do it would be Phoenix or Mark Collie.

  • ovo je izvedba za oskaraaa!!!!!

  • i love johnny cash but personally i think joaquin phoenix sings this song better

  • Joaquin's version is definitely better, coming at it from an unbiased point of view. He hits the notes with a richer intensity, it's amazing to listen to. I can't stand country music but with Joaquin's version I forget it's country to begin with, it's that good.

  • @SamiHikari ...you dick

  • you have to admit joaquin did really good singing his songs.

  • i like this base thing better than the original 1 than the 1 Johnny Cash uses for some reason but don't get me wrong i LOVE Johnny Cash but still i think this 1 is better

  • kien es

  • no one can out do johnny cash, but this is fantastic. wonderful job on joaquin's part.

  • great. the only onw who could do better is the man in black himself!!

  • Obviously Joaquin doesn't sing like Johnny Cash (just because NO ONE can sing like him) but you can't say this version ain't good! I love this movie and found Joaquin perfect in Johnny's role..

  • have heard johnny cash and still thinks phoenix' versions are better.

  • Joaquin's a tad bit faster then Johnny's

  • He sounds alot like him, but he can't really ever compare. I think he should be his own singer though... Do the same kind of music as Cash. Maybe it'd keep the spirit of him alive♥

  • @MissAshCullen Absolutely! Joaquin is as close to Johnny as you can get--but no one is Johnny except the an in black himself. I would stand in line to buy a country album from Joaquin!

  • @kgckmomma Exactly! I'd definitely do the same.

  • 2 people fell off the line :(

  • GORGEOUS VOICE, love the actor, good looks... good movie. Love love love it!

  • GOOD

  • good

  • I agree with everyone that thought Joaquin did an excellent role on Johny, the way he copy how Johny sing and his voice is very similar to Johny, I don't know if Johny ever had chance to watch the movie but if he did I think he would be proud of Joaquin. R.I.P mr. Johny

  • @ChaoticGodz agreeed. They made the movie after Jhonny and June died.

  • @yelloduckie05 yeah that's the sad part about it, but I think they had a good life, R.I.P to June also

  • @ChaoticGodz Movie came out 2005 Mr Cash died 2003 :/

  • I have to admit that on 'ring of fire', the joaquin phoenix version is better, but all the other songs are better with johnny cash.

  • Joaquin Phoenix did excellent as Johnny Cash

  • @xSNAKE1991x I agree

  • Omg The best lyrics ever

fIrst iwas lisnin to this song and i was thinking its a Not a good sOng bcz im suck in enGlIsh

but whene i see the lyrics with arabic launguage hes was someThing aweeeeeeeSoMe i Really Love this song

  • @FlyingPuma112 I think it's just better quality. Both are pretty damn good though.

  • he might be weird but joaquin is one fine actor---was great in gladiator also

  • I LOVE both Joaquins and Johnny's versions.

  • i love how joaquin's voice rumbles cuz its so low and deep

  • 1 person is justin bieber fans

  • Joaquin Phoenix was outstanding in his portrayal of Johnny Cash. But, no one can imitate that booming baritone voice of Johnny's. It's like steel that penetrates the very depths of your psyche and draws you like a magnet into his hypnotic spell. You just can't let go. You want more, and more, and more. Johnny may be gone but his music will live on and on. And, no imitators will ever come close to measuring up to his high standards. Keep singing Johnny, your fans are still here.

  • The reason why Joaquin sounds 'better' than Johnny is because of modern recording technology, that being said they are both amazing amazing artists.

  • Its strange how similar he and cash look from certian angles...

  • they are both awesome!!! but johnny is better but not by alot

  • i want his sunglasses so badly, i dream about them at night...

  • yah joaquin phoenix is way better at singing then johnny

  • Joaquin is king, but Cash is god. No one can beat or even match John's voice. simple as.

  • Funny thing was Witherspoon said she'd never sung before shooting this film. I'm not a country lover, but definitely this and "I walk the line" are musical masterpieces, both sides of how love can turn...

  • No One Sings Johnny Cash Songs Like Johnny Himself

  • @biggieovleeds yes, Joaquin Phoenix

  • @biggieovleeds True. But I think this movie deserves some credit for getting people that might now know to listen to Johnny. Maybe not, but I like to think so. Johnny Cash was a national treasure, and still is in the music recordings.

  • @biggieovleeds, but this wasn't bad! check Daughtry's version. I couldn't bear it.

  • @biggieovleeds Yeah, its different, and thats that. But i prefer this.

  • @biggieovleeds johnny cash chose joaquin 4 the movie cause he sounded like him

  • @biggieovleeds I couldn't agree more myself but he did a really really good job =)

  • I think Joaquin Phoenix sings Johnny Cash songs better than Johnny Cash sings Johnny Cash songs.

  • some of them maby

  • @IronMan0105

Then I think you need to actually listen to Johnny Cash. No one can sing like him.

  • @xxSTILLBALLIN713xx Joaquin did do an amazing job for the movie though. But you're right. No one can sing like Johnny Cash... The man is a legend.

  • @xxSTILLBALLIN713xx But they CAN come close
