Darn.. I actually believed Obama when he said he didn't support NCLB. He, along with Arne and friends have perpetuated the negatives of NCLB. Now, we are witnessing rampant takeovers of public schools by charter school business operations, and more talk of merit pay - all based on standardized test scores.

@horrifiedteacher Bush signed NCLB into law and it stays in effect until 2014. There's nothing Obama can do about it until then. PARCC is going to replace it in many states.

White teachers have been cheating for years to help white students past these standardized tests. They simply got copies of the tests and taught what was on them, that's all. Blacks teachers joined them in the cheating later. They ALL cheat!! We're kidding ourselves if we think they don't. One day, it will all come out in the light. God didn't make these children robots. Obama needs to stop this "Race to the Top" thing. It's resulted in more cheating than ever before.

i enter Hermantown high school in 2004 to 2008 in MN. I was 14 years old i want to get good eduaction from hermantown High school, but i was wrong about that. When i was 18 years old, my dad told the Superiment of Hermantown Screw me with my edauction when i was in high school . i care about No Child left behind , beacuse i am on the list of No child left behind in MN.

Under this law/act many teachers got left behind. Under this law, letters were sent to parents to tell them which teachers were "unqualified". What a misnomer. An uncertified teacher may be one who is finishing her/his academic courses or in the process of taking the state standardized tests.
Don't call them UNQUALIFIED. Tell parents that they are working towards their certification as required by law.
Teachers were recruited from other fields were left behind with this law! CHANGE! Obama 08!
