I will give you an example i was on the BUS talking to my gf about James Bond. This guy just started on about how crap it was etc. We had to listen to the pleb go on and on about how it was not the same as the old Bond. I did not ask him to join our conversation, nore did it warrant his input. But nope he carried on and on and on. Magne was getting really annoyed. This is the trouble with the Midlands.

You seem to have a gentle, kind heart so if I had to choose between having a good heart w/Asp. or no Asp. but a cruel heart, I`d pick Asp. anytime. You are far better off than these cruel ppl. It sounds like they could learn a few things from you.
Ignorance is what made those people beat me up. Even when I got student of the year a Tutor just told me that they gave that to the retards in the class to make them try harder. I left my BTEC with a Distinction. I know that what he said is probably because despite he was a Tutor he probably never got any awards in this lifetime and he was jealous. Or maybe he simply was bully. Either way I don't lose much sleep over it. I know that ignorance is no excuse. But you have to feel sorry.
I can agree that ignorance may make ppl misinterpret someone w/asp as (forgive me) scary or strange (you don`t come across that way at all) and ignorance may cause ppl to not want to be friends w/someone with Asp, but violence against a person simply because they are different is horrific especially if they mistakingly perceive the other person to be mentally weaker. This kind of violence only comes from a cruel hard heart. Ignorance does not breed violence. Hardness of heart does.

The whole landscape has now changed. A lot of colleges have AS as a tick box on forms under disability. Also more and more mature students are going back to college. In my day I was one of the first. So they resented me as I was 24 and the others were 16-18 year olds. I wanted to better myself and get a job. They simply wanted to doss around with their mates. I was different not just in age, but attitude and maturity. I think it didn't help that I was more AS in those days.
I think the Midlands is pretty tough. You have to learn to survive and be street wise here and if you are different its hard to fit in. The Midlands is very social. Most people know each other. Even the thickest of people have their own groups. One thing I have noticed with the Midlands it is very ignorant of AS. People are far less forgiving of traits. They will accept people in Wheel Chairs or what they can see, but AS they can't so they do not make any allowances.
this honestly sheds some light on aspergers for me... i've come to understand through various books (take malcolm gladwell's 'blink') that aspergers (and autism) can be broken down to simply an inability to read emotion on other people. (i wonder why that people are this way... is it genetic? or does it have to do with one's upbringing?)
i've generally found 'aspies' people to be irritating. for some reason they don't seem to understand normality. but i feel less antagonistic after watching this

well there are people born blind that dont care for sight because they are used to not having it.i think using being born without legs is a silly excample,because your stating really that the person suffers knowing they cant walk.but are they truely suffering when they are used 2 it,being an NT isnt any better then being an aspie.the grass isnt greener on the NT side of the fence so to speak.its hard to explain

I agree. i also tend to get into arguments with people because they think i should agree with them. and i also have had problems with people taking things the wrong way or feeling that i did. and people who are not aspie can't identify with it at all.
