Ooh btw, around 5:35, you say that when nowadays, we write "this person was here" on a wall or on a mirror, that it's originally from this painting, which is NOT. Please note, that in the middle ages, there were alot of - at least Netherlandish painters- which signed there paintings which such a Latin saying.
Around 3:09, you start to talk about the signs of wealth in this painting. You list most of them, but you forget the most obvious one: you should look at the outfit of the married couple. The man wears a very luxurious kind of fur, Also, the woman wears a lot meters of fabric andher slaves are made of ermine, just wanted to point that out. Greetings and keep up the good work :)
@HaleyDeshay well it wont let me post it so just search "Arnolfini Portrait" although he may not have "read from wikipedia" he definitely got all his information from it. All he did was reworded it a little. Ridiculous. /:
@HaleyDeshay i was thinking the exam same thing, he didnt even change the order in which he spoke about things. i could predict what he was going to say next just be having the wiki page open..
@urAsianSteff thanks! people seem to ask me this a lot. when making these videos I draw on my own personal knowledge as well as any other sources of info I find in art books or online. some paintings require more research than others. I don't read from wikipedia but i do use images from that site to avoid copyright issues.
