Slash is not "wrong" it is an alternative view, and for those who enjoy it is a very good way of understanding one's own mating psychology. As for them, yep they're "wrong" for each other which makes them perfect for each other (the perfect mate is someone who cracks your preconceptions).

Did you notice how Sherlock makes John lose his need for the crutch? That is so classic. There's the theory that the mind believes, and the body acts accordingly. The first character I knew was Clara from the Heidi story. She wasn't really ill or paralysed, they'd only made her believe that. When she's happy with her friends, she stands up and walks. Only when remembering "but I'm not supposed to be able to do this" do the characters revert back to being injured.
