that actually wasn't bills fault, his deputy ran form behind and called his name, most of the men bill has faced have tried to kill him, especially to try and shoot him in the back, he had just gunned down a man who had friends and bill thought there was one behind him trying to get him to turn so he could shot him. when bill cries over his deputies body, i knew he had not intended to kill him, he had reacted gone into a self defensive state.
Jeff Bridges was a terrific Wild Bill, but this movie was awful! Poor Walter Hill seemed to have forgotten everything about how to make an entertaining western. Bridges' great performance was wasted in a poorly written and directed film. The first 10 minutes are the only good parts.
i cannot find this movie anywhere, neither hmv, best buy or whatever carries it, they're always out but it is on dvd, i just can't find it, it is an awsome movie.
There's a legend that Hickok and the James brothers once found themselves in the same town where Wild Bill was marshal. As the James were not wanted in Hickok's jurisdiction they quietly agreed to disagree and Frank and Jesse kept the peace until they left. Interesting non-confrontation if indeed it did happen. One thing that seems historical is that all three were very dangerous men.
that could br true, as bill and the james boys were probably known to each other, rather than possibly get themselves killed and seeing as there was no beef between them, they had no need to fight. Bill never killed anyone who didn't mean him some kind of harm, neither did he poke at men who didn't deserve it, he was an interesting character. and the james boys were really after the railroad, everyone just got in the way. they were indeed dangeorus
OK, I still prefer The Quick And The Dead (1995) but Wild Bill was more emotional and deep western movie. Jeff Bridges looked brilliant as Bill. It was nice to see Ellen Barkin in not typical for her role. My lovely Diane Lane was great but I think she deserved more screen time. John Hurt and David Arquette did a great job too.
wish someone would post the scene where he is tripping after smoking opium and sees the Indians in the snow, they were so fiercesome looking.Said next time he sees the little dog,he would not see another sun,I think.
Great movie. It is unusual that the weapons and clothing is so accurate. I kills me when they have the wrong guns for the time period. Jeff Bridges did a great job.

One of the best opening 10 minutes of any movie. Too bad the rest of the movie didnt live up to the opening.

you should have included the funeral scene. I loved the music at that part.

Jeff Bridges should have been considered Best Actor at the Oscars for THIS movie, win that one, and then "Crazy Heart"!
