Im a diehard Saints fan, and I just don't get why he cant live up to expectations in the Pros, i mean I dont hate him. He's a really good dude, helps with the community, and a VERY classy, humble person..But, man every year I tell myself this is Reggie's year! hopefully he is hungry and plays like this, this year.
@95RealTalk Most of it is that he doesnt get alot of playing time, If you look at his career stats he has a solid stat line, but injuries hurt him, I hope he can run like he did vs arizona in 2009. Im a huge saints fan and he is still one of my favorites every time he steps on that field.
@95RealTalk At least he's still a weapon. He was never just a RB. He was a returner and a receiver and even made a few blocks. Most of that translated but his elusiveness, much like most RBs with that college ability, tend to disappear in the pros. I have am a packers and jets fan but I always loved Reggie. I model my play after him and try to be the best I can and I thank him for that. Right now he's going through some tough times. Hopefully he can pull through again like in USC.
@95RealTalk i'm a saints fan as well man... but this year will be his downfall if anything, he gets so upset about the smallest things like the drafting of Ingram, and of course instead of telling himself to work hard or put in extra time watching film.... he takes the easy way out and just complains. Im a diehard Saints fan, and I just don't get why he cant live up to expectations in the Pros, i mean I dont hate him. He's a really good dude, helps with the community, and a VERY classy, humble person..But, man every year I tell myself this is Reggie's year! hopefully he is hungry and plays like this, this year.

@95RealTalk Most of it is that he doesnt get alot of playing time, If you look at his career stats he has a solid stat line, but injuries hurt him, I hope he can run like he did vs arizona in 2009. Im a huge saints fan and he is still one of my favorites every time he steps on that field.

@95RealTalk At least he's still a weapon. He was never just a RB. He was a returner and a receiver and even made a few blocks. Most of that translated but his elusiveness, much like most RBs with that college ability, tend to disappear in the pros. I have am a packers and jets fan but I always loved Reggie. I model my play after him and try to be the best I can and I thank him for that. Right now he's going through some tough times. Hopefully he can pull through again like in USC.

@95RealTalk i'm a saints fan as well man... but this year will be his downfall if anything, he gets so upset about the smallest things like the drafting of Ingram, and of course instead of telling himself to work hard or put in extra time watching film.... he takes the easy way out and just complains. I hope they figure out what to do with him soon, otherwise he's gonna leave and no one may want to pick him up for much in a trade.

Don't' take away his Heisman. Make it so that if someone breaks NCAA rules and they're found out while in the NFL, take away their salary and playing time in the NFL. Don't punish the university and their teammates for things they weren't involved in.... get the athlete.

@xchargerOUx Bush had a better regular season then Young. Had the Heisman been awarded after the Rose Bowl, Young may have won it. And no freshman has ever won the Heisman before. Peterson needed more TD's to win the Heisman as a freshman.

But, Peterson clearly deserved that Heisman in 2004. More touchdowns? He had little over 1900 rushing yards almost close to 2000 in a 11-12 game season! That was a joke these guys didn't win.

Young had great regular season stats, but nothing compared to the impact Bush made. And Peterson had great stats, but Freshman simply don't win the Heisman. Leinart had a great season in his own right. He threw for 33 TD's compared to only 6 INT's, along with 3 rushing TD's.

@Hondaftw1 - Peterson only had stats? I recall him being about 80% of the Offense that season and carried most of the games on his back. And he only broke out about the 4TH GAME OF THE SEASON. Like I said, peterson deserved the heisman more. ;)

@xchargerOUx Your argument is still invalid. You can't use things that happen in the future to change the past. Simply put, Reggie Bush deserved the Heisman in 2005, and Leinart in 2004. No matter how they did after their collegiate career, they are still considered two of the best college players of all-time. Completely deserving of their Heisman trophies.

@Hondaftw1 Peterson's stats were average? 1925 yards 16tds and two 250+ RUSHING YARD GAMES and this was a kid coming straight out of highschool not evan a pussy redshirt like Leinart who couldn't compete coming out of highschool like Peterson Heisman isn't about stats it's about who made the biggest impact on a team that really needed it usc didn't need it they had tons of depth back in 04.

And if you actually knew what you were talking about, you would realize the reason Leinart was red shirted is because he was stuck behind Carson Palmer and Matt Cassel. And the Sooners were enormously talented during Peterson's freshman year. They had reigning Heisman winner Jason White at QB. A Freshman simply does not win the Heisman.

QB's will always be favored over other positions to win the Heisman, just like in the NFL. And being a freshman does absolutely nothing to increase your chances at winning a Heisman. Especially considering he wasn't even the best RB in the nation that year. Either way, both players had a loaded team and it came down to an upperclassmen or a lowerclassmen.

It wasnt taken from him he "gave" the trophy back because he knew he was guilty, and it would have been vacated in the future anyways. It was a selfish act between both him and Pete Caroll. Both of them ran to the NFl, both are garbage, and who is paying for their actions? USC, n the rest of the players that won't see the post season for two years.
