Your right, and that apollogy to aboriginals was just a campaign to get votes, i bet deep down he couldnt give 2 shits about the aboriginals, fair go i don't either but you don't say sorry if your not, a quality that people need to learn (especially some aresholes in parliment)

Howard sucked, but Rudd's not much better, he may have done some of the things Howard refused to do (signing the koyoto thing), but interest rates, fuel, food, living in general are still on the rise and we are on the verge of a recession...
Um...what was with the head exploding and the decapitation? It didn't seem to have a point apart from gratuitous gore.
Hey, thanks for the comment. Yeah I am very disappointed in Rudd - very much a smooth talking wind bag.
The exploding head - a) I thought it looked cool but b) it is a statement on the war on terror which Howard strongly supports. A lot of REAL exploding heads have happened since that war was declared.
hahaha OMFG you are totally right however he still hasnt disposed of the AWA's? which was one of his major promises like most...LOL ALL of his this just about have been blown over and the budget has been blown out something whicked, i congratulate you on your correct prediction of mr KRUDD
I agree - I'm working on that one - Rudd is a smooth talking diplomat who loves to sound like he's doing everything right. At least with Howard it was obvious how fucked up he was - he would tell everyone straight. Rudd pretends to be all caring and a hero to everyone, but basically we are still a country relying on mining to stay afloat, doing nothing for the environment, at war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the idea of owning your own home is absurd to most young people.
yes he WAS better, that is he seemed a better option at the time. Hope you all regret it. Record high pertrol prices, Murray river is dying, and what has he done? He has put taxes on car and alcohol which has caused binge drinking to go UP!
Rudd is all talk and no action. Plus my sister wants to know when she is getting her laptop she was promised by him.
howard led us on a voyage driven by greed and fear, into parochialism and paranoia, selfishness and racism, bigotry and corruption, and other dark places in the Australian psyche where we never should have gone. It was a mean and ugly trip, and it will take us all a long time to recover.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
typical, some rough scungey hippie labour supporter. I hope I do see john howard again, the best :'(!!! Kevin rudds a lier, nothings clear, climate change? hahaha, smash the unions? hahahahha hahaha I cant stop laughing!
Hi Ahgoll, thanks for the comment. It certainly was mighty relief to see his political career finally come to a grinding halt. A lot of people said the campaign was too sweet, so I made this video to purge all that unexpressed emotion that I know so many people felt - but in a fun way! Howard really was a nasty piece of work, for so many reasons.
It's funny - no-one ever suggests rich kids doing nothing productive and living off the family fortune, or skimming cash from the money market, should work for their money. "investment bludgers"? "Exchange Rate Bludgers"? "Real estate bludgers"? I reckon they are far bigger bludgers than "dole bludgers".
That's because they hadn't quite integrated Social Security with other government departments (eg, the ATO).
Those of us who received overpayments in the early '90s got hit hard recently, when their errors came back to haunt us. Part-time income was grossly miscalculated, if taken into account at all.
I am not one for handouts. I think that you are only entitled to live on what you earn. Keating was Very big on handouts. If Govts never started these then house prices and all costs of living would be much, much lower.
I agree, but when there is an economic recession, many must survive in this manner, steal or starve. I left university and graduated to the dole (Victoria was nearly bankrupt at one stage).
The housing price issue is one of pure greed. Negative gearing kicked it off in the mid-80s. Shelter is a basic human requirement.
how quickly we forget howards handouts that labor will have to keep handing out.
baby bonus/first homebyers grant/and 1000 for every child every year they attend school. i have one child left at school and i dont agree that someone with 4 5 6 children should be getting 1000 for each child. they need to take a look in to this its too much money just handed out.mayby it should be 500 for primary school age .
My original comment was also that a lot of people live off the rest of us as bludgers, becuase they happen to be born into rich families that suck money left right and centre out of the economy without doing anything - it's easy to pick on poor people taking a hundred bucks a week, but there are wealthy people draining millions from all kinds of scams and schemes, tax havens etc.
I didn't vote labor, but I remember the interest rates - but also house prices were about 1/3 what they are now, the pain wasn't as bad as it is now. Also some people actually had savings, so high interest rates were great for that large group of people. I also remember interest rates under Howard as Treasurer - 22%. Read "Ozonomics". It'll give you a better perspective on things.
interest rates arent controlled by the government you retard, tax rates are, but interest rates are not. they are controlled by the major banks. it was a clever way to win votes by the labor party to blame them on the libs. now going back to tax rates, during the last labor government tax rates were at an all time high at about 20%, and when liberals took over they went back down. there was nothing the government could do about interest rates.
I DIDN'T say interest rates WERE controlled by the government. Both Labor and Liberal use interest rates to blame the other party - the biggest culprit being Howard and Costello - who took all the credit for low interest rates, and frightened everyone into thinking that under Labor they would skyrocket. As far as Tax rates go there are all kinds of rates so I don't know what you are talking about there - sounds very simplistic- rather like what a retard might say :-)
You implied it 'but I remember the interest rates - but also house prices were about 1/3 what they are now' and i was talking federal tax rates, why would i be talking state.
Yeah, but to call me a "retard" you'd really hope I more than "implied" something. :-) Did I imply State taxes too? Federal tax - there are heaps of different rates - which particular tax and tax bracket do you refer to with the 20% figure? While Johnny was in, we were one of the highest taxed countries in the world - which is how he got such large surpluses - and why he was always able to offer tax cuts before each election - he was swimming in our money.
Rudd is no doubt just as bad, by the way - he's pretty much said "me too" on that one. :-) By the way, good effort on Cemetary Gates - a bit more practice and you'll get there - it's not an easy song.
It's not vicious and bitchy, it's all in good humour. :-) If you want to see REAL vicious and bitchy, check out some US Army Iraq home movies... Or perhaps watch the cops at APEC
Yep...the Labour Party are the real Animal Farm....wallowing in the pig-sty of hatred and foul-mouthed comments. Maxine MisKue is a complete (useful) idiot with no idea of how democracy works.....the voters of Australia look in wonder at her complete ignorance.
I guess I don't really see how being vicious and bitchy is something to be proud of, especially when left leaning people like you lot seem to spend so much of your time whining about how hateful and nasty the right supposedly are... Always seemed to me to be the pot calling the kettle black - your comments only seem to prove that.
Get back on your Contiki tour of Europe mate. Hey guys, this is why the absentee votes always favour the liberals-cos they have so much cash they're overseas skiing and finding themselves or whatever. don't worry dude, I'm sure your family shares and property portfolio are safe. You'll even get your tax break and your negative gearing. hateful? We're nothing compared to the nutjobs who have taken over the Australian media, especially Murdoch's dancing bears.
I'm more interested in policies - not on people's level of whininess - unless there is some humour involved.
Of course in adversarial politics, people are going to sledge one another, no matter what side they are on - just watch question time! Two big gangs of pots and kettles.
you guys are idiots... johnny brought australia out of world debt, right the recession. if it wasnt for howard you would all stil be complaining about the keating government. you guys are just fanboys, or more hateboys
Johnny did very little for the economy. He rode a boom of the Internet (which he did nothing to encourage) and China (which he had nothing to do with). It's more about his morality, which is very questionable. Even his old team-mates Malcolm Fraser and John Valder reckon Howard is morally bankrupt. And more is coming out now that he's gone - how he knew about torture of Habib and Hicks and did nothing, how he actively worked against cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
Howard was the master at "turning a blind eye". His memory was always flawless - he prided himself on his amazing recall and knowledge - until he was caught out - then he just couldn't quite remember...
Well I'm sure Howard had inked in a spell as Governor General as part of his post parliamentary career but that looks a remote possibility now. Janet will not be pleased as she has grown so fond of those harbor views.
Brilliant as always Cyrius, your efforts just keep getting better. I hope you end up making some decent money out of your obvious talents. Do you ever drink at the Ranch? I'd love to get you pissed.
GG eh? Yeah I doubt it... not sure if you can hold that office when you have a criminal record :-)
I have spent the occasional evening at the Ranch - even gigged there once, when it was more rock and less disco. Might be able to drop in there again some time.
Rock out, cyrius! Beautifully done! Particularly appreciated Howard on trial for war crimes. Will Rudd have to join him? Peace to you, mate. PS check out the WE ARE EARTH collaborative project on the 'tube... it rocks too!
Oh come on, he'll just join Steve Bracks with KPMG Peat Marwick or some other corporation that markets real estate to war-torn countries. We've got rid of Howard, but we haven't got rid of the Murdoch Press or the rest of the corporates who run today's government. Good film though. congrats!
Luv it. I bet he'll get a job as an adviser for the Tori's in the UK, or for the Republicans in the US. He wont want to stay in Australia as a civilian for very long. Just like Sir John Kerr, he will find the hatred day in, day out overbearing, he'll have to leave the country in shame. Problem is, if he does and lands in an Arabic country, the can arrest him as a war criminal according to UN laws that Australia is a signatory to. Blessings +++ The Saint +++
Good point. He thinks he'll find solace in golf clubs, but he's still got to get there on the roads, he's still got to walk here and there. He won't be able to handle it without the massive security budget he's used to. Unless he has a Malcolm Fraser moment, his future in this country is pretty bleak.
What exactly DID happen to Malcolm Fraser - he has changed for the better since leaving politics. I actually have more respect for him now (apparently, so does Gough Whitlam).
He won't be disliked as much as John Kerr - at least Howard was elected, whereas the GG is a position granted by the government itself.
A well-run economy compared to the Hawke/Keating era kept getting him into office, along with a few "children overboard!" type hoaxes.
i love australia! and i'm russian, they make piss fun out of their prime minister, and the song which lyrics r romantic, no way get fked fk off!!!

You are that stupid that you believe rudd has increased boat people.
The boats are coming but the people are being locked up.
Howard gave at least 1000 a year visa's
to come in.
And that was on top of numbers in some years over 4000.
The truth is Rudd has let in less boat people than howard and rudd didnt start the wars that sent them here.
Rudd also got rid of howards visa program 1000 less coming in so say thank you RUDDY.

Hi Cyrius,
Great piece of work.
Sums up a lot, a lot better than I have seen.
Have you got the video available as a DVD/CD/Video?
Keep up the fantastic work,
Best regards.
Phil

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the comment. I don't have anything as yet, but I'm sure I could arrange it.

you guys are idiots... johnny brought australia out of world debt, right the recession. if it wasnt for howard you would all stil be complaining about the keating government. you guys are just fanboys, or more hateboys

Cyrius01 4 years ago
"he knew about torture of Habib and Hicks and did nothing".
He was aware that Australians were being tortured in Guantanamo? I thought he was still denying any knowledge of that.
As with the greenhouse emissions, Kyoto and the blatantly unfair (to Aussies) 'free-trade' agreement, it's about keeping the USA happy.
ChoofMonster 4 years ago
He might deny it - but the facts are coming out. :-)
Cyrius01 4 years ago
Worse than that - he didn't want to know.

Howard was the master at "turning a blind eye". His memory was always flawless - he prided himself on his amazing recall and knowledge - until he was caught out - then he just couldn't quite remember...

I don't think that any govt. should be expected to rescue you overseas unless you are there for a political reason sent by the country.

6 years of growth before howard took over
and lets not forget cuts in education hospitals all while he bragged about how much money was left over.
but howard is a great bloke. not

You area brilliant, brilliant man!

I'd love to get you pissed.
whinavi 4 years ago
GG eh? Yeah I doubt it... not sure if you can hold that office when you have a criminal record :-)
I have spent the occasional evening at the Ranch - even gigged there once, when it was more rock and less disco. Might be able to drop in there again some time.
Thanks for the support!

Rock out, cyrius! Beautifully done! Particularly appreciated Howard on trial for war crimes. Will Rudd have to join him? Peace to you, mate. PS check out the WE ARE EARTH collaborative project on the 'tube... it rocks too!
troppochook 4 years ago

Blessings +++ The Saint +++
saintfletcher 4 years ago
Good point. He thinks he'll find solace in golf clubs, but he's still got to get there on the roads, he's still got to walk here and there. He won't be able to handle it without the massive security budget he's used to. Unless he has a Malcolm Fraser moment, his future in this country is pretty bleak.
Cyrius01 4 years ago
What exactly DID happen to Malcolm Fraser - he has changed for the better since leaving politics. I actually have more respect for him now (apparently, so does Gough Whitlam).
He won't be disliked as much as John Kerr - at least Howard was elected, whereas the GG is a position granted by the government itself.
A well-run economy compared to the Hawke/Keating era kept getting him into office, along with a few "children overboard!" type hoaxes.

Fraser became an humanitarian in retirement. Interesting, as Hayden became a conservative. They both moved closer to the centre.

Hey all together now....!
Inspired, Cyrius.
What a bloody good send off ~ just to match Howard's spectacular crash-n-burn-self-immolation, lol

He'll demand a recount any day now - you just wait... :-)
Cyrius01 4 years ago
Why not?...he's got nothing else to do now.
He should get a sandpit, then he can build a small country and then screw that one...though I doubt whether he could actually build one though.

So, I still don't get it.
Is he a Coalition supporter or an ALP supporter?
He has never explicitly stated this.
He needs to be more direct. That's what I think.

hehehe actually I support neither... I just happen to be really happy Johnny's gone :-)
