  • oooh. i wonder if you still have the coding for all these years. Mind if i borrow it?

  • what game engine did you use?

  • search google, eclipse orgins... otally free an make games EXCATLY like this...

  • which engine is that?

  • @EngineGames using xna with c#

  • What's a bridge doing there?

  • I don't know a thing about XNA... I Program in C/C++ and use Allegro. Anyway, I am releasing a Freeware 2D Game Engine. It is a HUGE project. It's a Game engine/map editor.. that can do just about anything in 2D. The manual alone is over 100 pages in printed form. The website is up, and as of this writing (April 3, 2011), it is scheduled for release on the 15th of April. Check it out at: klaxxz.com

  • @l337gamerl337 Yeah but those are for people with mental problems who can't learn to code, or idiotic kids who think they can make money from drag and dropping "code".

  • @trappingnoobs Trouth is that the game developers starts to more and more use drag'n'drop with game engines from other developers. I think the world is going dumber, but atlest it'll be way more faster.

  • @oonmm I'm yet to find a decent commercial game that isn't primarily made in a programming language.

  • @trappingnoobs well dota did start from the warcraft 3 engine, that does have about 20 million players, while free it shows the power of modes(unless you were on about engines like game maker rather then modes ofc, also i know dota one was a commercial games but not many games are any where near it in terms of size and it did bring with it a new genre of gaming which really shows what good modding can do to the game industry)

  • @messi996 I'm hating against drag and drop coding. Not modes.

  • @trappingnoobs kk :D seen some people calling modes worthless lately just wanted to make sure:D

  • RPG Maker VX...

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB

    ------------>

  • RMXP!! you totally fail man. i know how rmxp is (look my name XD)

  • check this

    youtube.com/watch?v=7qRo6os5IXE

  • or you could just use the now free unreal engine.... srsly folks...

  • good job on this vid man. But does anyone know how 99of99 was able to make those 2.5D effects on his vids using XNA? Ive never seen anything like what he did before

  • How about you link us the games you have made...

  • @l337Gamerl337

Not everyone likes drag and drop $1000 game engines. ;o

You can make the same quality stuff in XNA (which is what's used in this vid) with just a bit more effort coding wise.

But making games like these are just practice...learning about the coord systems, the XNA library, etc.

  • @planterzs And for those interested, Microsoft has built a library of every single thing you can do in C#. All commands, and hundreds and hundreds of how-to's.

  • @l337Gamerl337 you are an idiot. It isn't RPG maker. Similar style, but it's not. He walks through trees for a start.

And standards? I'd rather spend money on this than the next Halo

  • lol wut

  • for a "l337" gamer u sure know jack shit about why people code their own stuff.

  • @l337Gamerl337 I really can't believe you wrote such a thing .... What EvilNando has done is very difficult and promising too. In case you don't know some people create tools and games not with xxxmakers but with true programming languages.

  • @RedEyedKiller

That is accompanied by a Very High level framework built around DirectX. Which is completely fine, that's what they were made for. Although making your own game engine is a lot more tough.

  • @gm3dgames 2d stuff in opengl is as simple as 1, 2, 5. :P , especially immediate opengl, which is fast enough for 2d stuff

  • @DGMRuadeil

umm, when you have learned the API. I love OpenGL so no complaints there :)

  • @gm3dgames yea thats what i ment :P . The only thing i hate about opengl are the extensions, and having to check which extension is supported all the time. DirectX 9 is more targetted for game development, and does a lot of things for you, which is nice. If DirectX was properly crossplatform, it'd be my api of choise.

  • Looks nice keep it up :)

  • this is rpg maker xp with rpg maker vx character in the video!!

  • I agree he just grabbed the sprites

  • No, it was made using the XNA C# framework.

    Read the title.

  • Looks very nice.

i particullary like the 'happy' feeling of the game world, nice crisp bright colours.

    well done

  • No.

  • he even shows his code in some of his videos

  • How do you know he didnt use the tiles and make his own engine? You could use the metaphor: Don't judge a book by its cover.

  • This is not Rpg Maker VX, its XNA.

How do I know that? Well, I don't, but I am programming my own 2d engine with Xna, too. And I also use the tileset graphics from Rpg Maker (XP). Those graphics are just perfect for programming/testing so that you don't have to create your own tilesets first. Saves time.

  • asshole you think you know thing, fool.

get a life ok and dont judge.

  • do u have a source code 4 thiis

  • Im sorry but Im very busy to do such thing atm

  • hey i just got a reply from one of my team members Veku 2 i like you animation would you like to teach a few ppl on how to create basic XNA games

  • That is good, do you specialize in 2 d rpg on xna, please reply if you do.

  • Yes 2d rpg (in xna) is my main area of interest

  • Looks great, this is the art style I want my XNA RPG to look like!!!

  • nice

  • Looks good

  • Looking good. Subbed!

  • Looks good. Great song.

  • Looks good
