  • What brand of paint do you use for those watercolors? I know you don't have a preference, but I'd just like some ideas. I heard watercolors make good washes.

  • now do 299 more

  • Great video. Thinking about painting my first miniature of a DnD character I'm playing and thought your video was really helpful. The black washing technique sounds brilliant.

  • thank you great video tutorial well done thanks for taking the time to inspire us all . .Cant wait to see more

  • nice guide :-) but sound is awfull.

  • @avtvforming not really i think that raspy sound is just the guys voice check your speakers

  • this is amazing thanks for the vid... i did have a question... im trying to paint a power balde that would look like a lightsaber... what would you suggest how i make it look more enegry like?

  • I would use a fluorescent paint or a paint that glows in the dark. That would be cool!

  • good

  • where do you get the miniature

  • For the Spartan Miniatures a company called Crocodile Games.

  • @epicfantasy immortal miniatures also make some decent quality ones and theyre pretty cheap too like £3.50 for a spartan king and 2 bodyguards or like £12 for a 12 person phalanx. If you're still working on thermopylae battle diorama you should check out theyre range its only sold at Northstar figures but theyve a good selection of stuff and theyre focus is historical accuracy

  • @kreeperrock Thanks for the tip. I checked them out, nice miniatures, they look great.

  • @epicfantasy hi dude.realy like your vid.thanks for taking the time to make it.im having a go at painting some miniatures my self for the 1st time.what are the drying times between each of your steps? im guessing you wait for it to dry befor black washing?

  • for paints i use acrylic

  • hi, thank you for posting this video. I just started yesterday. I am painting a ghost from the Dark Heaven Legends, Botely the Ghost. I used two shades of grey, black, and a blue ink to bring detail out... but my question is what more would you do to make it have a ghostly glow? He seems a bit dark now... is there a technique that will brighten him up in a ghostly manner?

  • @syn7000 try using a drybrush with grey/white or with a very flourescent blue to give it a glow.

  • Great vid, nice to keep it simple for the learners. i like your tecnique, especially the use of a grey primer, i used to use only black or white, i have been painting for 15 years and now i am just experimenting with the grey primer.

your tutorial is very clear and easy to understand . nice work and thanks.

  • Thanks! Now I am working on a series of "Sculpting Miniatures" which dovetails nicely with this painting tutorial. If you ever want to impart some of the things you have learned, tips, tricks, etc. about painting minis I would love to post them to my website for others to learn!

  • Hey! Have you ever thought of makeing one of those Greek War Triremes? It could be a lot of work but it would be very interesting to see what you come up with!

    Just an idea! Thanks :)

  • Thats a great idea. It would be cool. I will put it on my list... well, I know how that sounds! But making some kind of model ship is on my list for sure and I will be doing that!

  • Thanks a lot, I've commented on a lot of your diorama making tutorials, about questions on my 1/72 WWII dioramas, and geeze, how do you know all this stuff! Your amazing!
