this album is most assuredly a quintessential 80s masterpiece. well...masterpiece all around! surprisingly, its actually on itunes! had the cassette back in the day. got it on CD during the mid-90s, so i guess my itouch would be next!
we live in a fucking stupid world...bands like this are the proof...if this was a smart world then there would be more talk talk about talk talk and not justin ass wipe beiber.
For sure! I think I remember the name but I don't remember the music. Well, my life at that time was a little screwed up, marriage, 2 kids and having an affair that was not regretted even to this day. RIP, Greg.
And they were among the first to incorporate Simmons "Hexagon" drums into their music, must've sounded so new when it came out, wait.....sounds much better than today's crap!
Talk Talk were from London, Because that's where it started. Mark Hollis is from the Tottenham area in London. But it doesn't matter, outstanding british music from the 1980's. goodness what happened to this outstanding wave of great british singers.
Now I remember -music such as this was obscured in the States by the overplay of Tears / Seagulls/ Big Cuntry lol.Unless you were a LA super cool hanging @ the viper room O.D.ing w/ Downey.

I agree..a brilliant and sadly overlooked band. What a unique burst of energy and intelligence!

@Narcissiaxx Not really. The main keyboard riff is a *little* similar, but that's about it.

an Australian band, Kids in the Kitchen, had a minor hit with 'change in mood' I reckon they have ripped off this song.

hey, that synth is quite similar to the preset of Enola-gay OMD!

Yeah, its the sounds of the early 80s, great wasn't it. Probably a Roland / Korg or something that was the rage at the time.
This is a great track.
wildenfree 3 years ago
yes, and the electric piano reminds me of Supertramp - Dreamer. It's the same scale.
