  • Reminds me of when I lived in East Harlem , like 93-96....

  • @SpikeMichaels east tremont same thing

  • i live in the projects and stuff like this happens everyday, its just sad and many the people killed in my ghetto i have know before, one day i hope me and my family can get away but violence is not the answer we all have to change and learn to consult rather than attack whether its in the hood or war overseas

  • tell me those bodies are fake

  • @big592 those are actual photographs

  • Real NYPD Crime Scene photos!. No joke.

  • Shit like this inspired me to make my first one. Watching this again after so many years, I'm inspired to begin work on the next one. Thanks Spike.

  • The Begginnin It's Very Graphic 2 Watch, But This What Really Goes On In Da World, From The Gun Voilence 2 Racism & Ect. Did They Even Get Permission 2 Put These pics in da movie or Even Showin da movie. Spike Lee Movies R The Best

  • these images remind me of east new york and the sound bronx in the late 80's and early 90's, too much violence. Its definitely sad to see these images and see that it still happens today because it shows the rest of the world how we do each other here at home.

  • It's hard to watch this, especially the women in the video!

  • these scenes remind me of summertime in chicago....and not in a good way

  • For the person who is looking for the movie. Spike has a box set that has Clocker's, Crooklyn, Mo Betta blues and some earlier movies ones on it. I purchased mine from Columbia House dvd club!

  • This intro should win an award ...alone

  • Chilling reality! Thank you Spike!!!

  • He sounds just like Stevie Wonder

  • He sounds just like Stevie Wonder...

  • the picturers used were taken from NYPD crimes investigations murder squad unit (dated from 1992-1993).all murders in the files they used were unsolved to date due to lack of evidence case closed. people complained at the time about the begining but it got promission to use the pictures from the NYPD in the hope of making young black people think about there actions.very sad how these young black people are getting murdered at an alarming rate up to date in these areas & knowones even noticin

  • brilliant intro with fantastic music.

also my fave spike lee movie... great film making.

  • shit.. not on iTunes

  • can somebody please tell me were da fuck is the full movie? i cant find on here or anywere eles

  • Just buy it! Pay themfor their work.

  • Yo this movie is one spike lees best. Gives you a look out how real it is in the hood especially if you in the crack game.

  • The book is crazy, it gets deep. The sountrack is hard to find. I bought it originally on casette, but now i can't find it.

  • This song is hard to find!!

  • whats the name of the song in the begining

  • people in search of a life performed by marc dorsey

  • This movie is defeinitely mad slept on but you know how it is with Spike Lee. He's an Unsung Hero and will never be appreciated by the masses. The song sets the tone for the picture. Great movie and a decent soundtrack. Desree', Marc Dosey and The Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers are the standouts. Jeru The Demaja is just unreal with his verse. Classic Hip-Hop right there.

  • This was a great film. Was this the sumner houses? I can' t tell. The sad thing is that nothing has changed that much since then. it is a little safer but it seems like every weekend everybodys shooting at each other here.

  • everybody?

  • There we go Chuck D ain't shit AND arrested development

  • great song

  • This one of my favorite Spike Lee films I've seen, a very underrated crime thriller with powerful perfomances from the cast and director Spike Lee 5 stars for this film and what's this song that playing over the Universal Logo.

  • Marc Dorsey-- people in search of a life, brilliant song, like the film underrated, this film probably has one of the best movie soundtracks of all time!

  • No..Unfortunantly this is real crime scene footage..Its sad..But it is true..

  • I heard that they were recreations of real crime scene footage because Spike and crew didn't want to offend the families of the actual victims.

  • It isn`t real footage its actors. Spike lee says it in the interview on the right+some of the actors are the dead guys

  • not true.

"'The intent was to deglamourise this whole infatuation with rap and guns and this idea that it's cool to have a gun and shoot people. I really wanted to set the tone for the film, right from the beginning; to say that if you use a gun, or get shot, there's a good chance you won't get up again. It's not like do-over. Bullets do damage. To do that sequence we recreated real homicide photographs.? " Spike Lee

They were recreated from actual crime photos.

  • @icon1914 Wow I thought they were actual crime scene photos! I know that I was teary eyed while sitting in the movie theater. The photos made you think about all the senseless acts of violence and how victims are treated at the crime scene.

  • @snique1973 shit i thought they were real too....but those murals are real for a fact arent they?

  • @snique1973 shit....i thought they were too. but those murals are real for a fact arent they?

  • @75lord I think the spray painted murals are real. But now I am not sure about any of it! (Because I thought they were crime scene photos). Reading from another post someone quoted Spike from and interview about seekingt approval from the families of the victims before reacting the crime scenes and some scenes were fictional. Either way the hope was to get some answers to these unsolved homocides.

  • @snique1973 my nosey ass had to go and research and find out......yep the murals are real......one of em was in fat joes video.....thanks nique

  • Ostia es que estás en todo esto de la web eh luchable, que jefe!!

  • this is my movie clockers especially the intro eventho it looks very sad and graphic!

  • I think Spike Lee said these were staged crime scenes using living people.

  • really?? I thought that these were dead people! Man, this scene bothered me for months!

  • Nah man, these photos were taken during production by the cinematographer. But Spike says somewhere that they were influenced by real forensic photos of victims of street crimes.

  • no justice for Sean Bell ....all 3 officers acquitted..but it's not over ...we have to fight .and keep going..Lord give us strength through white America.

  • That is very sad. Unfortunately, this happens every day. I hope more people watch this to see how dangerous gang life is. Of course not all these people were involved in gangs. Plenty of innocents get caught in the crossfire. This is sad and disturbing.

  • yes it is. funny how this represent the gowanus projects at that time but its not like that anymore.

  • there is always a purpose in life for us. to do good towards one other or to hate life. look in the mirror and ask the ? "What is my purpose in life"????? peace and love

    I hope everyone has a wonderful day:^)

  • deep.

  • what is sad..I don't mean to sound ignorant

but black people don't stick together they are always trying to bring the next person down

  • I don't think we can blame black people. I don't think violence has anything to do with the color of your skin. I would say that poverty and the lack of opportunities in the ghettos are the real problems. And, for once, I won't talk 'bout the police.

  • right on!

  • @fifitrooper

not sad or ignorant at all man, its the truth.

  • @fifitrooper lol race has nothing to do with sticking together and bringing each other down, are u saying white, asians, hispanics dont do the same things?

    u do sound ignorant

blacks are notorious for sticking together when one makes it big, so much so they go broke, tons of entertainers and athletes have gone broke splurging on friends and family

  • @fifitrooper to be honest, it's never that simple, you cant trust people you dont know, you never know who has a hidden agenda. trying to escape the trap they were born in. The nation is designed by racists, though were starting to get more controll over things. There are millions underneath that one group of people who make it. The culture, it's very complicated

  • @fifitrooper that's not just black ppl, u need to get out more

  • This intro used to bother me soo bad! i used to sit and cry,,but people still don't care!

  • I love this song

  • marc dorsey sings this song

  • who sing this song? what's the song titled?

  • The song is People In Search Of A Life by Marc Dorsey.

  • @perrolutxo Thanks heaps for uploading this song...been searching for it for a while

  • @nbridgeforth12 wow your a dumb motherfucker haha
