I was watching a commerical from the late 70's on McDonald's and they had a Pirate character and in the early 80's McDonald's got rid of him... But the funny thing about it is the fact that he belong more with Long John Silver than McDonald's.. There are still a few commericals here on Youtube about the Pirate character that eats or trys to steal fish sandwichs.

@WarshipAngelus The McD's pirate character you're referring to was Captain Crook & they officially retired him in 1987. He was far successful than this Duke of Doubt character who only lasted 2 or 3 yrs at BK before he was dropped for good.
