Sufjan is a Christian artist to his bones. Every line is born from a Christian engagement with life. A broad Christianity though--one where mystery is always present. Perhaps not the narrow type that makes the most noise. Dickens, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, TS Eliot, Bresson all engage life from a completely Christian perspective too but the secularists try to cut them off from their intellectual source. Can't be done, as they all pretty much said. Martin Luther King too.

He is a christian, but he is not only touching upon christianity in his music, and his music can relate to everyone, even people like me, who aren't christian. Just because some of his songs touch upon religion, doesn't mean his is solely a christian artist.

True, but there is a certain vein of music that is devoted to Chrisitanity; hymns, contemporary Christian rock (such as Relient K), worship songs (hillsong united, etc.) are all focused solely on God. Sufjan Stevens delves off into other realms of music, but his music does have a strong Christian undertone.

Yeah i think so too. Some of his songs are not faith based and some are. So i think it's fair to call him a Christian artist, it's just that his style is unique and unlike mainstream Christian. I don't know why people always seem to have a problem with calling an aritst who sings faith based songwriting artist A Christian Artist but the way certain people reply makes it seem like they think less of Christian artists. Very powerful video. As for where I got the images for the videos I have put together, I got the majority of them simply googling the word nature and the selecting images.
